    College  East Carolina
    1/10/2015 1:45:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson was arrested Friday night for carrying a weapon in Orange County, Florida.
Insight: It is a second-degree misdemeanor, so Johnson's status should be be affected next season. However, this could give the Jets an excuse to release him. They would save $3.75 million against the cap, if they decide to do so.

    12/15/2014 10:51:00 AM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson rushed for a team-high 55 yards.
Insight: Johnson has been getting the work in the past three games, but hasn't produced big numbers. Ivory rushed 12 times for 25 yards and a touchdown, Johnson rushed 10 times for 55 yards and neither guy holds great upside right now with this 50-50 split of the workload.

    12/14/2014 3:10:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson is active for Week 15 despite a knee issue.
Insight: Johnson has been getting the work in the past two games and has 158 yards to show for it. Not great, but he's getting his chances.

    Hot12/2/2014 9:30:00 AM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson led the team the team in rushing on Monday with 105 yards on 17 carries.
Insight: it was his first 100-yard game of the season and just his third in the past two seasons. The Jets decided to pound the ball at Miami and it worked for most of the evening as they ran for 277 yards.

    11/24/2014 10:01:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson led the team the team in rushing on Monday.
Insight: He had seven carries for 40 yards and three catches for 22 yards. Chris Ivory chipped in seven carries for 31 yards and thee catches for seven yards. Neither running back is a great option.

    11/2/2014 6:31:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson led the team with 11 carries and 69 rushing yards in Week 9 against the Chiefs.
Insight: This comes as a surprise as Johnson has barely been used the last few weeks. He didn't get a ton of carries in Kansas City, but the 6.3 yards per rush certainly sticks out. That is a feat, however, Johnson will likely be unable to repeat and that's assuming he even gets the opportunity again.

    Cold10/13/2014 6:22:00 PM
Description: It has gotten worse and worse for Jets running back Chris Johnson.
Insight: Johnson has three carries for nine yards as the Jets gained just 31 yards rushing on 15 attempts. Chris Ivory had eight rushes for seven yards. The Jets offense is a disaster. It would be better to stay away from the entire unit.

    Cold10/6/2014 10:03:00 AM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson was not pretty in Week 5 rushing for just 24 yards on seven carries.
Insight: Johnson and Chris Ivory are getting very similar workloads and neither can produce fantasy-worthy statistics in this RBBC situation. It doesn't help that the Jets are 30th in scoring with just 79 points, so opportunities to score are few and far between.

    9/16/2014 1:14:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson was not pretty in Week 2 against the Packers, rushing for just 21 yard,s on 12 carries.
Insight: Johnson and Chris Ivory are getting very similar workloads, but it will limit both players' fantasy values. Ivory had the better game Sunday and still produced just 10 fantasy points.

    8/17/2014 1:23:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson looked healthy and ran well in the second preseason game.
Insight: Chris Johnson will probably lead the backfield in touches, but Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell will remain involved. We're still waiting to see CJ2K get involved in the passing game (four receptions in two games) because we know he has the ability to take screen passes a long way.

    8/5/2014 8:57:00 PM
Description: Jets coach Rex Ryan said that he thinks the team will use a "committee approach" at running back this season, according to Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News.
Insight: Chris Johnson will probably lead the backfield in touches, but Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell will remain involved and Ivory will likely see goal-line carries. Johnson is a flex play at best in 10-team leagues.

    7/23/2014 10:13:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson (knee) has been medically cleared for training camp, according to ESPN.com.
Insight: Johnson sat out offseason activities after undergoing knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, which he says he suffered in Week 3 last year. He rushed for a career-low 3.9 ypc in 2013 but was still a fantasy factor because he received 279 carries, caught 42 balls and scored 10 touchdowns (six rushing). He's going to split carries with Chris Ivory on early downs and Bilal Powell will handle third downs, so Johnson may not reach 250 touches this season.

    6/28/2014 10:02:00 PM
Description: Jets running backs coach Anthony Lynn said that the team is "going to have to be strategic" in how it uses Chris Johnson to "keep him fresh so that he can be the explosive guy that I know that he can be." SOURCE: nj.com
Insight: Lynn said earlier this month that the Jets would use a hot-hand situation at running back. Johnson averaged 298 carries the past five seasons, but he may not reach 220 carries this year with Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell also getting touches.

    6/16/2014 1:55:00 PM
Description: Jets running back Chris Johnson will have first shot, but its likely to be a "go with the hot hand situation" according to RB coach Anthony Lynn.
Insight: That makes this situation a lot different than the one he had in Tennessee where he was definitively the No. 1 guy. In six seasons with the Titans the fewest attempts he saw were 251 in his rookie season. Johnson will battle with Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell and Daryl Richardson for reps.

    4/16/2014 3:18:00 PM
Description: The Jets have reached an agreement with three-time Pro Bowl running back Chris Johnson.
Insight: According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, it's a two-year, $8 million deal. Johnson's yards per carry dipped to 3.9 last season with Tennessee and the bigger Chris Ivory (6-foot, 222 pounds) will probably see most of the carries around the goal line. For the first time in years, Johnson isn't a must-start fantasy player.

    4/15/2014 6:27:00 PM
Description: Former Titans running back Chris Johnson met with the Jets on Tuesday. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: The team is mulling the idea of a split backfield with Johnson and Chris Ivory as the two anchors. Johnson has been in decline for several years now and doesn't figure to be a top fantasy choice in 2014.

    4/4/2014 1:46:00 PM
Description: It's official. The Titans have released running back Chris Johnson after six seasons. SOURCE: Jim Wyatt, The Tennessean
Insight: The Titans couldn't find a trade partner, but the running back will certainly find another NFL job. The speedster has proven to be durable, having missed just one game in six seasons. He's never rushed for less than 1,047 yards and has recorded 58 touchdowns (50 rushing). Where he ends up will determine his future fantasy value.

    4/4/2014 9:59:00 AM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson has a meeting with the GM Ruston Webster on Friday and could be released as soon as today.
Insight: The speedster has proven to be durable, having missed just one game in six seasons. He's never rushed for less than 1,047 yards and has recorded 58 touchdowns (50 rushing). The Titans couldn't find a trade partner, but the running back will certainly find another NFL job. Where he ends up will determine his future fantasy value.

    3/29/2014 11:33:00 AM
Description: The Titans are expected to hand Chris Johnson his walking papers sometime in the next week. SOURCE: Jason La Canfora, CBS Sports
Insight: They couldn't drum up much trade interest for the veteran and now it appears they'll just let him walk. Johnson has rushed for 1,000 yards in all six seasons in the NFL while only missing one game over that stretch. He's owed $8 million in 2014.

    3/10/2014 7:21:00 PM
Description: Teams don't seem to be interested in trading for Tennessee running back Chris Johnson, which means he'll probably be released sometime in the very near future.
Insight: ESPN's Adam Schefter believes it could happen any day now. When Johnson does get released, he'll immediately become the most sought after halfback in this year's free agent class.
