    Chicago Bears

    Position
    WR

    Jersey
    13
    Name  Johnny Knox
    Born  11/3/1986
    Height  6-0
    Weight  185
    College  Abilene Christian
    2/13/2013 7:24:00 PM
Description: Bears wideout Johnny Knox has told the Chicago Sun-Times that his professional football career is over.
Insight: Knox never fully recovered from the spinal fusion surgery he had in December 2011 to repair nerve damage. The 26-year-old will hang up his cleats after just three NFL seasons. In that time, Knox was able to amass 2,214 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns with his most productive season coming in 2010 (51 grabs, 960 yards, five TD).

    8/26/2012 2:28:00 PM
Description: Chicago wide receiver Johnny Knox, still recovering from offseason spinal fusion surgery, has been placed on the physically unable to perform list, meaning that he won't be eligible to play the first six games of the regular season.
Insight: Knox, who led the Bears with 727 receiving yards in 2011, could be done for the year.

    5/23/2012 2:35:00 PM
Description: Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox is working to rehab from major back surgery, but it doesn't look like he'll be in uniform anytime soon.
Insight: Knox was on the field during OTA, but not part of practice. He appears to be 20-30 pounds lighter. Don't expect him to play this season.

    8/25/2011 9:37:00 AM
Description: Bears WR Johnny Knox could be back at starting split end soon if Roy Williams doesn't pick up the slack, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Insight: WR coach Darryl Drake basically called starter Williams out Wednesday saying this about the veteran's poor preseason, "And if things don't start changing, then Johnny is going to be in there. Heard it straight from the horse's mouth." Williams has been out of shape all through training camp and has just been going through the motions at practice, while Knox is excelling after losing his starting job. So, it is no wonder the Bears are finally coming to their senses. If you check the latest projections/rankings, you'll see that we agree, as we have Knox ranked ahead of Williams.

    8/10/2011 7:56:00 PM
Description: Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz cited "inconsistency" when discussing Johnny Knox's demotion out of the starting lineup Wednesday.
Insight: Well, Knox's deep ball skills shouldn't go un-noticed around the league and the Bears' phone should start ringing, inquiring about his services. Knox looks now to be the fourth receiver on the Bears depth chart, so he's safe to avoid in your draft.

    9/28/2010 2:17:00 AM
Description: Bears WR Johnny Knox finished with four receptions for 94 yards but didn't score in Monday's win over Green Bay.
Insight: Knox caught a 35-yarder on the sidelines to set up the field goal just before halftime, but he failed to score for the second straight week. QB Jay Cutler threw him seven passes and he continues to lead the team in overall targets. Though he isn't a WR1, he could be considered a low-tier WR2 or high-tier WR3.
