Description: Newly acquired Suns center Emeka Okafor stands to miss up to three months with a herniated disk in his neck. SOURCE: Comcast Sportsnet Washington
Insight: Phoenix has no interest in winning games this season (they'll be joined by Charlotte and Philadelphia in the Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes) so they're going to give Okafor as much time as he needs to recover. Even when healthy, the defensive-minded Okafor isn't a particularly appealing fantasy asset.

    10/26/2013 6:08:00 PM
Description: Veteran center Emeka Okafor was dealt to the Suns on Friday. SOURCE: Marc Stein, ESPN
Insight: The center piece of the trade was Marcin Gortat, who is headed to Washington. Okafor has been bothered by a neck injury and remains without a timetable for his return. For now, the former Rookie of the Year belongs on the waiver wire.

    9/18/2013 7:36:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor is out indefinitely with a herniated disk in his neck. SOURCE: Wizards on Twitter
Insight: It won't be an easy injury to come back from, though for now it appears that Okafor won't need surgery. When it comes to drafting a Wizards big man in fantasy, Kevin Seraphin is probably your safest option.

    4/17/2013 6:48:00 PM
Description: Washington center Emeka Okafor will miss Wednesday's game.
Insight: Okafor made it through 79 games this season and averaged 9.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 26 minutes per game. Wednesday will be Kevin Seraphin's time to shine.

    4/9/2013 12:18:00 PM
Description: Washington center Emeka Okafor is probable for Tuesday's game against New York while dealing with a sprained left shoulder.
Insight: Okafor has averaged 9.9 ppg and 9.0 rpg this season, but could have a big day on Tuesday because most of the Knicks' big men will be sidelined by injury.

    3/23/2013 8:29:00 PM
Description: Washington center Emeka Okafor (flu) will return from a two-game absence Saturday against the Warriors.
Insight: Okafor has been a reliable 11/10 player since late December. Kevin Seraphin averaged 14 points and five rebounds in the last two games but he will go back to his usual inconsistent playing time.

    3/20/2013 8:57:00 PM
Description: Washington center Emeka Okafor is sick and won't play Wednesday against Phoenix.
Insight: The veteran Jason Collins will get the start in his place. Collins (1.1 ppg) can be left on the waiver wire. The Wizards are hoping to have Okafor (9.7 ppg, 8.9 rpg) back for Friday night's game against the Lakers.

    3/3/2013 8:48:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor had 12 points, 16 boards, one steal and one block Sunday versus Philadelphia.
Insight: Okafor slumped through the first two months of the season but he's averaging better than 11 points and 11 rebounds over his last 34 games.

    Hot2/23/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Washington big man Emeka Okafor is averaging 15.6 points and 10.4 rebounds over his last five games.
Insight: Okafor has put together two straight double-doubles. He has 14 double-doubles since Dec. 22 after having none before that game.

    2/22/2013 9:55:00 PM
Description: Washington big man Emeka Okafor registered 17 points and 13 rebounds Friday in a loss to Denver.
Insight: Okafor never morphed into the superstar Charlotte expected him to be when they selected him second overall in the 2004 draft but he's done okay for himself, averaging 12.4 ppg and 10.0 rpg for his career. This season he's at 9.3 ppg while rebounding at a rate of 8.8 boards per contest.

    Hot1/30/2013 9:25:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor led the team with 17 rebounds Wednesday in a loss at Philadelphia.
Insight: Okafor (15 points) has now produced 15 rebounds or more in four out of his last five games. Normally a horrendous free throw shooter (58.5 percent for his career), Okafor has gone 9-of-12 from the line during his recent hot streak.

    Hot1/28/2013 10:07:00 PM
Description: Washington center Emeka Okafor collected 23 points and 15 rebounds Monday in a 96-94 loss to Sacramento.
Insight: Okafor has been averaging 13.8 rpg in his last five games, a significant improvement over his season average of 8.3 rpg. Monday was Okafor's first 20-point game since December 22, 2010 against the Nets. That ends a drought of 112 games in a row without scoring 20 points.

    1/26/2013 10:07:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor came into Saturday's game averaging 10 points, 11 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over his last 17 contests.
Insight: The center continued his strong play with 15 points, 16 boards and two steals Saturday against the Bulls. He's someone to grab if you need rebounds.

    1/14/2013 9:26:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor scored 19 points with 11 rebounds and one block Monday against the Magic.
Insight: Okafor is averaging 11 points, 11 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over his last 11 games.

    1/12/2013 10:34:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor did the minimum required for a double-double Saturday versus Atlanta with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Insight: It was Okafor's second straight double-double and fifth in his last 10 games. The center is only an option in deep leagues.

    1/1/2013 8:35:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor recorded his fourth double-double in the last five games Tuesday versus Dallas.
Insight: Okafor had 14 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday. He's averaging 11.6 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks over his last five contests.

    12/30/2012 1:34:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor's 18 rebounds Saturday night were a season high and gave him double-digit rebounds in four straight games.
Insight: Okafor has started 26 games this season but is only averaging 23 mpg. While it's difficult to trust him for game-to-game production with Nene and Kevin Seraphin around, his 1.4 blocks at least give deep league fantasy owners a reason to own him.

    11/10/2012 9:51:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor has bounced back from a poor start to the season to produce double figures in points in each of the last two games.
Insight: Okafor only played 17 mpg in the first three games this season but he's exceeded 30 in each of the last two. He scored 17 with eight rebounds on 8-of-18 shooting Saturday. Okafor is worth holding onto for now.

    10/30/2012 9:51:00 PM
Description: Wizards center Emeka Okafor scored 10 points, grabbed seven boards and blocked four shots in 25 minutes Tuesday in the season opener.
Insight: Okafor only played 27 games last season but he played 82 games in three straight seasons from 2007-10 and 72 in 2010-11. He has averaged 12.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game in his career and while his numbers with Washington will likely fall short of those totals he is still a quality fantasy center.

    6/20/2012 9:01:00 PM
Description: Center Emeka Okafor and forward Trevor Ariza were traded from the Hornets to the Wizards Wednesday in exchange for forward Rashard Lewis and the 46th pick in next week's NBA Draft.
Insight: All three players missed significant time with injuries last season but overall this is a good trade for the Wizards. Okafor (9.9 ppg, 7.9 rpg) is an effective rebounder and shotblocker when healthy and Trevor Ariza scored 10.8 ppg for New Orleans last season. Plus, Washington gets to take Lewis' enormous salary (he's set to make $23 million next season) off the books.
