    Atlanta Hawks

    Position
    C

    Jersey
    14
    Name  Gustavo Ayon
    Born  4/1/1985
    Height  6-10
    Weight  250
    College  San Jose State
    2/28/2014 1:20:00 PM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon need shoulder surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.
Insight: With Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Pero Antic and Ayon all injured, the Hawks' frontcourt is a shell of its former self. In a recent game against the Bulls, SG/SF Kyle Korver, SF DeMarre Carroll and PF Elton Brand were Atlanta's three starting frontcourt players. Needless to say they were killed on the boards (55-37).

Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon did not make the trip to Boston for Wednesday night's game against the Celtics. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: This will be the fifth game he's missed with a shoulder injury. With Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Pero Antic and Ayon all injured, the Hawks' frontcourt is a shell of its former self. Last night against the Bulls, Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll and Elton Brand were Atlanta's three starting frontcourt players.

    2/25/2014 11:11:00 AM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon has not returned to practice as yet and is unlikely to play on Tuesday.
Insight: He tweaked his shoulder during last Tuesday's loss to Indiana. Veteran Elton Brand and Mike Scott are the frontcourt options at this time.

    2/22/2014 10:24:00 AM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon is expected to miss at least two additional games. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: He tweaked his shoulder during Tuesday's loss to Indiana. Veteran Elton Brand came up big with 20 points and 11 rebounds on Wednesday, but then disappeared in 27 minutes on Friday night with just seven points.

    2/19/2014 6:39:00 PM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon won't be available Wednesday against Washington. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: He tweaked his shoulder during Tuesday's loss to Indiana. Veteran Elton Brand (5.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg) will get the start in Ayon's place.

    2/18/2014 8:22:00 PM
Description: Hawks center Gustavo Ayon will not play in the second half Tuesday due to a right shoulder injury, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Ayon injured his shoulder on a block attempt and went to the locker room. He was able to return briefly but will be held out for the second half. With Al Horford and Pero Antic out, the Hawks have been using a tandem of Ayon and Elton Brand at center, but neither player has been providing fantasy-worthy numbers.

    2/18/2014 8:04:00 PM
Description: Hawks center Gustavo Ayon went to the locker room with trainers during Tuesday's game to get a right shoulder injury checked out but later returned to the game, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: With Al Horford and Pero Antic out, the Hawks have been using a tandem of Ayon and Elton Brand at center, but neither player has been providing fantasy-worthy numbers.

    2/12/2014 9:34:00 PM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon led the team in scoring with 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting Wednesday at Toronto. He added 10 boards for his first double-double of the season.
Insight: Prior to Wednesday, Ayon had scored in double figures just once all season, on Nov. 16 when he had 10 points, and grabbed double-digit rebounds once as well. He will continue to split time at center with Elton Brand until Pero Antic returns from the stress fracture in his ankle in two weeks.

    12/18/2013 11:07:00 AM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon won't play Wednesday against the Kings. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: He's out with an ankle injury. Ayon can rebound a little (4.2 rpg) but he isn't a fantasy option.

    12/9/2013 10:33:00 AM
Description: Hawks PF/C Gustavo Ayon is questionable for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City due to a sprained left ankle/bruised leg.
Insight: Ayon (4.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg) appearance or lack of it won't change any fantasy lineups.

    11/11/2013 11:21:00 AM
Description: Hawks PF/C Gustavo Ayon is probable for Monday's game against Charlotte due to a shoulder inflammation and a strained rotator cuff.
Insight: Ayon (3.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg in 2012-13) has yet to play this season, but his appearance shouldn't change any fantasy decisions.

    1/2/2013 12:00:00 PM
Description: Magic center Gustavo Ayon is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Chicago after missing the previous game due to a bruised right thigh.
Insight: Ayon (3.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg) has only been playing 14.2 minutes per game so he's not fantasy worthy, but the extra playing time for starter Nikola Vucevic resulted in his posting 20 points and 29 rebounds in 47 minutes on Monday versus Miami.

    10/6/2012 12:45:00 PM
Description: Josh Robbins from the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that center Gustavo Ayon will play for the Magic in 2012-13.
Insight: This puts to rest the rumors that Ayon might play overseas this season. For now Ayon is penciled in as the team's starter at center, though his contributions on the fantasy level should be pretty limited.

    7/8/2012 10:18:00 PM
Description: Forward Gustavo Ayon appears to be headed to the Orlando Magic as part of a sign and trade deal that will send forward Ryan Anderson to the Hornets.
Insight: Ayon (5.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg) had his moments for New Orleans last season but it's still unclear what his role will be in Orlando, especially if the Magic end up gaining five or six new players as the result of a Dwight Howard trade later this offseason.

    4/1/2012 8:48:00 PM
Description: Gustavo Ayon has not been with the team since Monday after his wife gave birth, but he will be back in the Hornets' lineup tonight against the Suns.
Insight: Ayon could be rusty after not playing in almost a week but the good thing is, he should see plenty of minutes with Chris Kaman likely to miss the game with bronchitis.

    3/29/2012 6:27:00 PM
Description: Gustavo Ayon (wife giving birth) will not be with the team when they take on Portland tonight. Ayon will probably be back in the Hornets' lineup Saturday against the Lakers.
Insight: Congratulations to the Ayon family on the birth of their newborn child, who was born this morning. New Orleans needs bodies right now so Ayon will probably play a lot of minutes when he returns.

    3/28/2012 6:04:00 PM
Description: Gustavo Ayon will not play tonight against the Warriors. Ayon is staying in New Orleans to be with his wife, who is giving birth.
Insight: It looks like Carl Landry will have to pick up the slack tonight for New Orleans with Ayon and possibly Chris Kaman both out.
