NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, November 28th (All times Eastern)

San Antonio Spurs (12-3) at Orlando Magic (5-8), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - For more than a decade, winning has been a tradition with the San Antonio Spurs. But now the Spurs have been accustomed to winning on the road and will resume a six-game trek Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.

The Spurs, who own a league-best 12 wins, are 4-0 on the road swing and disposed of the winless Washington Wizards 118-92 on Monday behind Boris Diaw's team-high 16 points. Tiago Splitter almost had a triple-double, finishing with 15 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks off the bench.

San Antonio was able to hold off the pesky Wizards and barely got by Toronto in a 111-106 victory in double overtime on Sunday.

"It was huge for us, because especially after what happened last night. It was huge for us to have a good start and make sure we play well right away," Spurs guard Tony Parker said. "Don't mess with them, because we knew they were 0-11. You don't want to mess with that kind of team. You just want to from the get- go pound them and that's what we did."

Tim Duncan had 14 points and was among seven Spurs players to score in double figures. San Antonio is 8-1 away from the Alamo City this season and matched the 95-96/96-97 Chicago Bulls for the best 32-game road stretch in NBA history at 28-4.

The Spurs' .888 winning percentage on the road is the best in the NBA. They will wrap up the road trip Thursday at Miami.

Orlando had a modest two-game winning streak stopped with Sunday's 116-110 overtime setback versus the Boston Celtics and fell to 2-1 on a five-game homestand.

Jameer Nelson netted 17 of his 20 points in the second half and overtime and J.J. Redick scored 21 points off the bench for a Magic squad mired in a rough 5-8 start to the season. The Magic have lost three of five games and fell for the first time when scoring 100 points (4-1). They were 25-5 a season ago when reaching the century mark in scoring.

"We got some good looks down the stretch," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said. "Overall, I was pretty encouraged with our guys' effort."

Orlando was 11-of-26 from three-point range, but committed 19 turnovers and blew an 82-80 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Orlando is averaging 16.0 turnovers per game.

The Magic are still near the bottom in scoring with 91.7 ppg and will close out the residency Friday versus Brooklyn. The Magic sport a 4-3 home record this season and have gone 54-27 at Amway Center since it opened in 2010-11.

San Antonio won both meetings with Orlando last season, but has dropped four of the past six trips to central Florida.
