NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, December 19th (All times Eastern)

    Milwaukee Bucks (13-10) at Memphis Grizzlies (16-6), 9:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Southwest Division-leading Memphis Grizzlies have been hard to beat at home and will resume a three-game residency Wednesday night versus the Milwaukee Bucks at FedEx Forum.

The Grizzlies are 10-2 in southwest Tennessee and have won 21 of their past 23 games as the host, including a franchise-best 15-game winning streak from March 18-Nov. 16, 2012.

Memphis opened its current homestand with an 80-71 triumph versus the Chicago Bulls on Monday as Mike Conley led the charge with 17 points and Rudy Gay was held to a season-low 12 points. Gay had scored at least 14 points in a career- best 24 games in a row.

Zach Randolph recorded his NBA-leading 18th double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Wayne Ellington supplied 11 points off the bench and Marc Gasol chipped in four and 11 rebounds.

"When you see a couple go down, as a basketball player, it's kind of natural to just get in that zone," Ellington said. "I got pretty hot in the first half."

Memphis made 6-of-11 3-pointers and held Chicago to a season-low 71 points. The Grizzlies, who lead the NBA in points allowed per game (90.0) and have forced at least 10 turnovers in 126 consecutive games, outscored the Bulls by a 69-51 margin over the last three quarters and will close out the homestand Friday versus Dallas.

In other team news, Randolph is averaging 23.3 points and 14.7 rebounds in three games in December. Conley needs eight assists to pass Jason Williams as the franchise's career leader in assists (2,069).

Milwaukee has been keeping pace with the Bulls in the Central Division, but obviously would like to leapfrog the two-time defending division champions.

Sitting just a half-game out of first place in the standings, the Bucks recorded a 98-93 win versus the Indiana Pacers Tuesday night thanks to Brandon Jennings, who scored 13 of his season-high 34 points in the fourth quarter.

Jennings was 13-of-22 from the field for Milwaukee, which has won five of its last six games and rebounded from a 111-85 loss to the L.A. Clippers. Jennings was held to nine points versus the Clippers.

Monta Ellis contributed 19 points and six assists in the win over Indiana.

"It was a dog fight. They're a division rival, they're a good team and we were fortunate enough to get the win," Bucks forward Mike Dunleavy said after he registered 17 points and six rebounds.

The Bucks were without center Joel Przybilla, who was suspended a game for hitting a referee with a ball on Saturday. He is expected to play Wednesday.

Milwaukee will also visit Boston on its quick road swing and owns a 6-5 record away from the Bradley Center. It has won two in a row as the visitor.

The Bucks suffered a 108-90 loss to Memphis on Nov. 7 this season and have lost four straight in this series.
