NBA Game Summary - Phoenix at Toronto

    (Sunday, March 16th)

Final Score: Phoenix 121, Toronto 113

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Gerald Green scored a team-high 28 points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 121-113 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

Green finished 5-of-8 from 3-point range in just under 27 minutes of action.

Goran Dragic added 19 points, Markieff Morris had 16 points and 14 rebounds and P.J. Tucker chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals for the Suns, who have won two straight after dropping three in a row.

Kyle Lowry finished with 28 points and 13 assists, while Terrence Ross and Amir Johnson donated 22 and 20 points, respectively, for the Raptors, who had won two straight entering the contest.

"Every night this time of the year the physicality gets bigger and as a result you get upsets since the stakes are higher," said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. "We have to play physically on defense and offense and take care of ourselves. We can't expect officials to bail you out."

Toronto led 27-18 following Ross' 3-pointer with 3 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter. The Suns, though, used an 11-2 burst to tie things up at 29-29 with 1:35 remaining.

Marcus Morris' triple as time expired gave the Suns a 37-35 edge entering the second frame.

Phoenix opened the second with a 9-2 run to take a 46-37 lead. Dragic drilled a pull-up three nearly five minutes later to give the Suns a 59-49 edge, but the Raptors closed the half strong to make it 61-59 entering the break.

Toronto tied the game moments into the third, but the Suns used a 12-2 run to make it 84-70 with 5:46 to go. The Raptors had their deficit down to two, 88-86, with just under two minutes to go, but Phoenix managed to carry a 96-90 lead into the final frame.

The Phoenix spread swelled to 15 after Green buried his fifth triple of the game, and third within a one-minute span, but the Raptors came storming back to pull within seven following Lowry's three-point play with just over four minutes remaining.

Toronto, though, wouldn't get closer than seven the rest of the way.

"The guys seemed focused tonight from the start. We came out with an aggressive attitude on the boards and made shots," said Suns coach Jeff Hornacek.

    Game Notes

The Suns were 34-for-38 from the free throw line ... Phoenix outrebounded the Raptors 45-26 ... Toronto outscored the Suns 60-38 in the paint ... Toronto scored 28 points of 21 Phoenix turnovers.
