Description: Diamondbacks starter Bronson Arroyo will undergo Tommy John surgery, according to Steve Gilbert of mlb.com.
Insight: Arroyo was hoping rest and rehab would do the trick for his sprained UCL, but he'll need surgery. The 37-year-old was never on the disabled list in his career prior to this season.

    6/17/2014 10:16:00 PM
Description: Arizona starter Bronson Arroyo has a sprained UCL in his pitching elbow. SOURCE: Steve Gilbert, MLB.com
Insight: A tear likely would have meant Tommy John surgery so finding out it's only a sprain should qualify as good news. Either way, it doesn't sound like Arroyo (7-4, 4.08 ERA) will be pitching for the Diamondbacks any time soon.

    6/16/2014 7:57:00 PM
Description: For the first time in his career, Arizona right-hander Bronson Arroyo has been placed on the 15-day DL.
Insight: He's dealing with elbow tendinitis. It's poor timing for fantasy owners as Arroyo (7-4, 4.08 ERA) has won his last three starts in impressive fashion. There's no timetable for the 37-year-old's return.

    6/10/2014 8:26:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Bronson Arroyo threw seven innings and allowed one run on six hits in a win over the Astros Tuesday.
Insight: Arroyo is 6-4 with a 4.22 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP and just 46 Ks in 81 innings this season. His ERA hasn't been below 4.15 at any point, though he's gone 5-2 with a 2.76 ERA over his last nine starts after going 1-2 with a 9.50 ERA in his first four starts.

    5/26/2014 6:59:00 AM
Description: Arizona starter Bronson Arroyo left Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the NY Mets due to a sore right elbow.
Insight: Arroyo threw six innings yielding one run and six hits on 75 pitched, but was pulled with a tender elbow. This probably won't keep him from his next start, but it is worth watching. Arroyo has yielded one run or less in four of his last five appearances.

    Hot5/7/2014 3:57:00 PM
Description: Arizona starter Bronson Arroyo has put up a 0.87 ERA in his last three starts.
Insight: Arroyo threw 7 1/3 innings and gave up one unearned run on five hits Wednesday at Milwaukee. He had a 9.50 ERA after his first four starts this season but is down to 4.89.

    5/3/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: D-Backs starter Bronson Arroyo tossed all zeros Friday in a win against the Padres.
Insight: Arroyo (6.03 ERA) scattered three hits across seven innings. Friday was the right-hander's longest outing of the season. The win evens his record at 2-2.

    Cold4/16/2014 9:50:00 AM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Bronson Arroyo gave up nine earned runs on 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings Tuesday against the Mets.
Insight: Arroyo has a 9.95 ERA and a 1.97 WHIP in 12 2/3 innings with his new ballclub. He has averaged just 86.4 mph with his sinker (his main pitch), down a full mph from last season, and he may still be dealing with the back injury that caused him to miss most of spring training.

    3/9/2014 2:50:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Bronson Arroyo (back) didn't feel good playing catch Saturday but feels much better Sunday, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. He's hoping to pitch in a Cactus League game Friday.
Insight: This is new territory for Arroyo (14-12, 3.79 ERA for Cincinnati in 2013), who has never gone on the disabled list at any point in his 14 seasons in the league. The 37-year-old had an epidural last week for the bulging disc in his back.

    3/7/2014 8:54:00 PM
Description: Arizona righthander Bronson Arroyo recently had an epidural to relieve some of his back pain. SOURCE: Jack Magruder, Fox Sports Arizona
Insight: This is new territory for Arroyo (14-12, 3.79 ERA for Cincinnati in 2013), who has never gone on the disabled list at any point in his 14 seasons in the league. He's still on track to make his first start of the regular season but fantasy owners should definitely keep an eye on his progress.

    3/4/2014 5:44:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Bronson Arroyo was scratched Tuesday due to back stiffness, according to the Arizona Republic.
Insight: It probably isn't serious, but it is a reminder that Arroyo is now 37 years old. The right-hander has thrown 199 or more innings in nine straight seasons and posted an ERA from 3.74-3.88 in four of the last five.

    2/7/2014 8:02:00 PM
Description: Starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo has decided to join the Diamondbacks. SOURCE: Ken Rosenthal, Fox Sports
Insight: His new deal will pay him $19 million over the next two seasons. While superstardom has eluded Arroyo, consistency hasn't. The lanky righthander has posted an ERA under 3.90 four of the last five seasons. He'll be worth owning in most leagues.

    11/30/2013 2:03:00 PM
Description: The Mets are making a play for free agent righthander Bronson Arroyo. SOURCE: Chris Cotillo, SB Nation
Insight: The Giants had been the frontrunner for Arroyo until they signed Tim Hudson and Ryan Vogelsong to fill out their starting rotation. Arroyo is 3-0 with a 2.32 ERA in four career starts at Citi Field.

    11/10/2013 3:38:00 PM
Description: Free agent starter Bronson Arroyo is being pursued by Minnesota, Philadelphia and San Francisco. SOURCE: Nick Cafardo, Boston Globe
Insight: Arroyo pitches to contact, which can get him in trouble sometimes, but he did manage to post an ERA under four for the second consecutive year. At age 36, he won't net more than a two-year contract.

    Hot8/25/2013 10:40:00 AM
Description: Reds starter Bronson Arroyo is 4-0 with a 2.33 ERA over his last four starts.
Insight: He allowed three runs over seven innings Saturday against Milwaukee and the Reds provided him with six runs of support to get him his 13th win of the year. The right-hander has a 26/0 K/BB during his winning streak and has walked just 26 batters all season.

    8/14/2013 7:24:00 PM
Description: Reds starter Bronson Arroyo was tremendous Wednesday in a win over the Cubs.
Insight: He tallied seven strikeouts over seven shutout frames. Arroyo's 3.35 ERA this season is his lowest since 2006.

    6/3/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati righthander Bronson Arroyo fired eight scoreless frames Monday against Colorado.
Insight: Arroyo got roughed up in his last outing (8 H, 5 ER in 5 2/3 IP versus Cleveland) but he looked plenty sharp in Monday's win over the Rockies (8 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 3 K's, 0 BB). The veteran is 6-5 with a 3.38 ERA in 12 starts this season.

    5/29/2013 10:12:00 PM
Description: The Indians snapped Reds starter Bronson Arroyo's personal three-game winning streak Wednesday night.
Insight: Arroyo allowed five runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings and served up homers to Jason Giambi and Mark Reynolds. The right-hander has a 5-5 record, a 3.75 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP in 11 starts this season.

    5/18/2013 9:17:00 PM
Description: Reds starter Bronson Arroyo blanked the Phillies on five hits over 7 2/3 innings Saturday. He walked two and struck out six to move to 4-4.
Insight: Arroyo hasn't allowed a run over his last two starts and has a 3.28 ERA on the year. After allowing 46 homers in 199 innings in 2011, Arroyo has given up 32 in 262 1/3 over the last two years, including six in 60 1/3 this season.

    5/12/2013 8:37:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati righthander Bronson Arroyo fired 6 2/3 scoreless innings Sunday against Milwaukee.
Insight: He walked one and struck out five. The scoreless outing dropped Arroyo's ERA from 4.30 to 3.76. Opponents are hitting .256 versus Arroyo this season.
