    4.41
    Name  Joel Pineiro
    Born  9/25/1978
    Height  6-0
    Weight  200
    Number
    Position  SP
    Bats  R
    Throws  R
    2/3/2014 10:01:00 AM
Description: Right-handed starter Joel Pineiro is attempting a comeback, according to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.
Insight: Pineiro has four double-digit win seasons on his resume, but likely won't make it back to a level where fantasy owners will be interested. He last pitched in 2011.

    7/23/2012 5:43:00 PM
Description: Orioles right-hander Joel Pineiro will have season-ending surgery on the labrum in his right shoulder.
Insight: Pineiro went 7-7 with a 5.13 ERA for the Angels last season but he posted a sub-4.00 ERA in each of the previous two seasons. He had been hoping to get back to the big leagues this season but the surgery will sideline him for the rest of the year.

    5/11/2011 5:27:00 AM
Description: Angels SP Joel Pineiro allowed 2 runs over 7 2/3 innings, giving up 8 hits and a walk, while striking out 5. With the win, Pineiro improved to 2-0 on the season.
Insight: Pineiro has been solid in each of his three starts this season, posting a 1.33 ERA in those starts. He only has 10 K's in 20 1/3 innings, so he is not as valuable in points leagues.

    4/28/2011 11:22:00 AM
Description: Angels pitcher Joel Pineiro has been activated from the 15-day disabled list. SOURCE: Baseball Nation
Insight: Pineiro will make his season debut on Saturday. he has recorded double-digit wins in each of the past two seasons, so using him in deeper formats might not be such a bad idea.

    3/30/2011 12:56:00 PM
Description: The Angels placed SP Joel Pineiro on the DL because of his shoulder soreness but he will only miss one start, barring setbacks. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: In roto leagues this news should not be much of an issue. However, in head to head leagues, keep Pineiro on your bench for the first week.

    3/30/2011 5:08:00 AM
Description: Joel Pineiro threw 59 pitches in a minor league game yesterday and felt good.
Insight: He was shut down due to shoulder pain and will start the season on the DL. But, if his next minor league start goes well then he will be back with the Angels and will only miss one week of the regular season.

    3/30/2011 2:02:00 AM
Description: MLB.com reports that Pineiro threw 59 pain-free pitches on Tuesday, his first game action since leaving a March 20 start early with tightness under his right shoulderblade.
Insight: Pineiro will open the year on the DL, but it sure doesn't look like he'll be on there long. (RapidDraft.com)

    3/23/2011 10:08:00 AM
Description: Because of tightness in his right shoulder, Angels SP Joel Pineiro will not be ready by Opening Day. SOURCE: Los Angeles Times
Insight: Pineiro is a #5/6 SP in mixed leagues and is worth drafting late and stashing on your bench or DL to start the season.

    3/21/2011 10:01:00 AM
Description: Los Angeles Angels SP Joel Pineiro left his start with tightness in the back of his right shoulder Sunday, casting his readiness to start the season in doubt. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: Pineiro is a decent #4/5 SP in AL-only leagues but drop him down in your rankings until his status gets clarified.

    9/29/2010 6:41:00 PM
Description: Angels SP Joel Pineiro allowed 1 run over 7 innings, on 5 hits and 2 walks, taking a no-decision over the Athletics.
Insight: Pineiro has been fairly useful for mixed league owners, though he does not strike out a ton of batters. For 2011, draft him as a #5/6 SP in mixed leagues.

    9/12/2010 5:51:00 PM
Description: Assuming that he doesn't suffer any setbacks in a minor league start today, Joel Pineiro will start for L.A. next week. SOURCE: MLB
Insight: We don't like him in mixed leagues since he has been out for a while. AL-Only teams can go ahead and give him a shot.

    7/28/2010 6:13:00 PM
Description: Joel Pineiro will be placed on the DL with an oblique strain and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. SOURCE: ALEX SPEIER ON TWITTER
Insight: He can be dropped in all leagues, as 8 weeks would take him very close to the end of the season. This might be the final blow to the Angels playoff hopes.

    7/22/2010 1:00:00 AM
Description: Pineiro allowed six runs on 11 hits over six innings on Wednesday against the Yankees. He walked two and struck out five.
Insight: Pineiro allowed more then three runs for the first time since June 1st which was the last time he had lost. However, he was hit hard and took the loss against the Yankees to fall to 10-7 with a 4.18 ERA. (SportsBuff.com)

    7/21/2010 5:46:00 PM
Description: Joel Pineiro gave up 11 hits and six runs over six innings in New York today.
Insight: He has been a solid starter and you can keep him active in deeper mixed leagues next week. It is worth noting that, as usual, a road start in the Bronx is one for fantasy baseball owners to avoid.

    7/16/2010 7:46:00 AM
Description: Pineiro allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings on Thursday against the Mariners. He walked one and struck out four.
Insight: Pineiro had his seventh straight quality start as he has won seven of his last eight starts. he is now 10-6 with a 3.95 ERA. (SportsBuff.com)

    6/30/2010 9:08:00 AM
Description: Pineiro allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings on Tuesday against the Rangers. He walked two and struck out four.

Description: Pineiro allowed one run on six hits over 7.1 innings on Wednesday against the Dodgers. He walked one and struck out five.
Insight: Pineiro won his fourth straight start as he is now 7-6 with a 4.21 ERA. (SportsBuff.com)

    6/17/2010 8:45:00 AM

Insight: Pineiro won his third straight start as he has only given up two runs over his last 17 innings. He is now 6-6 with a 4.45 ERA. (SportsBuff.com)

    6/7/2010 1:04:00 AM
Description: Pineiro allowed four runs on nine hits over six innings on Sunday against the Mariners. He walked three and struck out five.
Insight: Pineiro won for the first time since May 16th as he improved to 4-6 with a 5.23 ERA. (SportsBuff.com)

    6/2/2010 8:55:00 AM
Description: Pineiro allowed six runs on ten hits over eight innings on Tuesday against the Royals.
