    Insight: Machado took part in minicamp and has been cleared for most baseball activities. He batted .278 with 12 HR and 32 RBI in 82 games last season. He has huge upside if he can get, and stay, healthy.

    Insight: Machado sprained a ligament in his right knee on Aug. 11. He underwent surgery on his other knee last October and missed all of April this season.

    Description: Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Friday there is no timetable for when third baseman Manny Machado will return to baseball action according to MLB.com Orioles reporter Brittany Ghiroli.
    Insight: Showalter added he should know more about Machado's return on Saturday, but all signs point to the third baseman being out past August 27, which is his first day he could return from the DL. Machado has been out since August 12 with a sprained right knee.

    Insight: Machado suffered the injury Monday and could be done for the season depending on the extent of the damage. He had surgery to repair a torn medial patellofemoral ligament in his left knee last October.

    Insight: Machado is 0-for-13 against Cobb in his career. Although his season numbers are ugly, Machado is much improved in June (.260, 4 HR, 10 RBI, .755 OPS) and certainly heading in the right direction.
