Interleague Preview from The Sports Network

Thursday, May 1st (All times Eastern)

    Los Angeles Dodgers (15-12) at Minnesota Twins (12-12), 1:10 p.m. & 7:10 p.m.

Probable Starting Pitchers: Game One: Los Angeles - Dan Haren (3-0, 2.03) Minnesota - Mike Pelfrey (0-2, 7.32)

Game Two: Los Angeles - Red Patterson (0-0, 0.00) Minnesota - Kris Johnson (0-0, 0.00)

(SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran right-hander Dan Haren can help the Los Angeles Dodgers toward a team record for interleague success on Thursday afternoon, when he starts game one of a doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.

The doubleheader was made necessary when Tuesday's game was postponed and will conclude this three-game set.

Haren is 3-3 in eight starts in Minnesota, where he last pitched two years ago while with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Haren dropped a 5-0 decision after giving up five runs in 3 2/3 innings in that game, but pitched well -- allowing a single earned run in six innings -- of his most recent start, in a game the Dodgers lost, 7-3, on Thursday against Philadelphia.

Los Angeles has won five straight interleague road games and can establish a franchise record with a twin bill sweep of the Twins, who've lost five straight interleague games. The Dodgers won their final four interleague games in 2013 after losing 10 of 12.

They've averaged 8.8 runs and 13.8 hits per game in the five-game win streak.

The Twins open with righty Mike Pelfrey, who's not won since Aug. 20, 2013.

The former New York Mets standout is 0-5 in 10 starts since while compiling a 6.00 earned run average. He's won just twice in his last 27 starts.

In two home starts in 2014, he's allowed 11 runs and 13 hits. He allowed four runs at Tampa Bay in his most recent start on Wednesday.

"I thought it was better, but it's obviously nowhere close to where I want to be," Pelfrey said.

He's 1-1 with a 3.43 ERA in four career starts against the Dodgers.

Minor-leaguer Kris Johnson makes his second career start -- and first with Minnesota -- in the nightcap.

He'll likely be opposed by righty Red Patterson, whom the Dodgers would bring up from Triple-A Albuquerque after he'd gone 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA in four starts.

On Wednesday, the Dodgers won, 6-2, for the 10,000th regular-season victory in franchise history. Only the Giants, Cubs and Braves had previously reached the number.

Zack Greinke (5-0) gave up one run on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts and has now gone 21 starts of five or more innings with two or fewer runs allowed, the longest streak in the majors since 1914.

Juan Uribe drove in a pair of runs, and Yasiel Puig had two hits, scored twice and added an RBI for the Dodgers.

Eduardo Escobar went 4-for-4 with two RBI for the Twins.

Kyle Gibson (3-2) allowed five runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings to drop his second straight start.

Despite Wednesday's loss, the Twins have won five of their last seven versus the Dodgers, with all seven games taking place in Minnesota.
