Interleague Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, June 18th (All times Eastern)

    Milwaukee Brewers (28-40) at Houston Astros (26-45), 8:10 p.m.

Probable Starting Pitchers: Milwaukee - Alfredo Figaro (1-0, 3.47) Houston - Jordan Lyles (3-1, 3.48)

(Sports Network) - A pair of old rivals square off Tuesday, as the Milwaukee Brewers pay a visit to the Houston Astros to kick off a three-game series.

The former NL Central foes are meeting for the first time since the Astros moved to the AL West in the offseason. Milwaukee took nine of the 17 matchups between the two a season ago.

Milwaukee is 3-3 on a nine-game road trip and suffered a 5-1 loss Sunday at Cincinnati in the finale of a three-game series. Wily Peralta was charged in the loss with seven hits and five runs -- four earned -- over 5 1/3 frames.

Carlos Gomez had the lone RBI for the Brewers.

"Defensively, we didn't play well," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "Offensively, we didn't have a lot of opportunities but cashed in on the one we did get."

Alfredo Figaro draws the start for Milwaukee Tuesday and he is 1-0 with a 3.47 ERA in 19 games (3 starts). He threw seven shutout innings in a 10-1 win last Wednesday at Miami.

Figaro lost to the Astros in his only appearance against them back in 2009.

The Astros had a four-game winning streak cut short with Monday's 4-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a four-game series.

Bud Norris suffered the loss and gave up four runs -- all in the sixth inning -- and eight hits in six innings.

"That one inning kind of got them the four runs, but at the same time, we had an opportunity to get right back in it and failed to get the big hit," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "Give those guys a lot of credit. They fought hard tonight to get this game."

Jason Castro drove in two runs and Brandon Barnes registered three hits and a run scored in defeat.

Taking the ball for the 'Stros Tuesday will be Jordan Lyle, who is 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA in nine starts. He has posted back-to-back no-decisions and is 1-3 with a 4.11 ERA in six career games (5 starts) against Milwaukee.

Lyle is 2-0 in his previous six outings since his last loss on May 12.
