Fewer storms will develop this afternoon as drier air arrives in the Tampa Bay area. There's just a 20% chance of a late-day shower near the coast.
A few isolated storms will develop this evening, but we won't see nearly as much rain as we saw Tuesday night. Overnight will be mostly clear and with drier air. It will also feel less muggy.

American League Game Summary - LA Angels of Anaheim at Seattle

    (Tuesday, May 27th)

Final Score: LA Angels of Anaheim 6, Seattle 4

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - C.J. Cron homered and drove in two runs to help the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to a 6-4 win over the Seattle Mariners in the second matchup of a four-game set.

Mike Trout, Erick Aybar and Chris Iannetta each had an RBI for the Angels, who have won two of their last three.

Jered Weaver (6-3) picked up the win after going six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.

"It was just one of those games where you had to battle," Weaver said. "These guys put up three early runs and helped me out a little bit early."

Seattle starter Roenis Elias (3-4) was charged with five runs on eight hits with five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in the loss.

Justin Smoak homered and Dustin Ackley scored twice for the Mariners, who have lost three of their last four.

Three straight doubles for the Angels to open the second staked the visitors to a 2-0 lead.

David Freese led off the inning with a shot to center, then Cron and Aybar each followed with run-scoring doubles.

Iannetta knocked in Aybar with a double two batters later and LA took a 3-0 lead into the home half of the second.

Nick Franklin got Seattle on the board with an RBI single that plated Ackley with two outs in the second.

With the bases loaded and no outs in the fourth, Howie Kendrick grounded into a double play that allowed Grant Green to cross home and restore the three-run cushion for the Angels.

Smoak led off the home half of the fourth with a blast to right and Ackley scored later in the frame on a wild pitch from Weaver to cut the deficit to 4-3.

"We knew we were still in the game the whole entire game so that's all we have to do is fight," Franklin said of his team battling back to get within one.

Los Angeles added an insurance run in the seventh courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Trout.

Collin Cowgill doubled to lead off the frame, then moved over to third on a Kendrick groundout before racing home on Trout's drive to right.

Cron crushed his third homer of the season to lead off the eighth and make it a 6-3 game.

Ernesto Frieri came on in the ninth and converted his seventh save of the season despite allowing an RBI single to Robinson Cano which accounted for the final margin.

    Game Notes

The Angels improved to 2-5 against Seattle this season ... Weaver entered the game with a 1-5 record and 4.05 ERA in his last six starts against the Mariners ... LA went 4-for-13 with runners in scoring position, while Seattle went 2-for-7 in those situations.
