Comebacks, title games and 2010 highlights

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - As most of us are set to close out what has likely been another excruciating season of fantasy football, it is important to remember all of the new rivalries that have formed, the friendships ended and the handful of amazing stories we'll be telling at next year's draft.

Seeing as I serve as a co-commissioner in a few of my leagues, I tend to overall scoreboard watch more than others and I think I'll remember 2010 as the year of the comebacks.

The biggest off the top of my head has to be Michael Vick's Week 10 performance in Washington. In his second game back from injury, the once- disgraced quarterback built the biggest stone of his 2010 fantasy legacy with a six-touchdown game. Four of those went through the air, including an 88- yarder to fellow fantasy stud DeSean Jackson just 18 seconds into the game.

Mix in two more rushing touchdowns and 80 yards on the ground as well as over 300 yards passing and Vick put forth an effort that will go down as one of the biggest highlights of the NFL season.

The best part? It came on a Monday night and spawned more stories of shocking comebacks than a Michael Jackson biography.

Fast-forward to this past Monday night, when a pair of performances produced opposite ends of the spectrum.

On one hand, Adrian Peterson owners -- at least those without his handcuff Toby Gerhart -- that found themselves trailing were left scrambling for much weaker options, while the Bears defense and special teams sliced and diced the Vikings for a fantasy output off the charts for a D/ST.

The lesson, especially for those going into championship games this weekend: don't ever count yourself out. Unless of course you are facing Vick.

    Some other 2010 highlights:

Texans running back Arian Foster posts 231 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1, beginning a campaign that will see him become the top fantasy running back this season.

After a lost fantasy season in Buffalo, Cincinnati WR Terrell Owens catches 10 passes for 222 yards and a score in Week 4 to become relevant again.

Tony Romo goes down with a season-ending injury in Week 7 and the Dallas quarterback leaves a gapping hole on many fantasy rosters.

Oakland's Darren McFadden has his coming out party, running for three touchdowns and 165 yards at Denver in Week 7.

Waiver-wire pickup of the year Peyton Hillis scores twice in Week 9, with the Browns back adding a season-best 184 rushing yards against the Patriots. He would run for three TDs against the Panthers three weeks later.

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings hauls in three touchdowns versus the Vikings in Week 11, part of a span of six TD receptions in four games.

Titans running back Chris Johnson rushes for just five yards on seven carries in Week 12 in Houston and fantasy owners give a Charlie Brown-like sigh.

Chiefs wideout Dwayne Bowe pulls in three touchdown passes in Seattle, capping a span of 13 touchdown receptions in seven weeks. Fantasy owners who took a chance on Bowe rejoice.

DeSean Jackson posts 210 receiving yards on just four catches in Dallas in Week 14 for the Eagles.

    LOVE IS A DIRTY WORD

Here are three players I'm loving for Week 16:

Tashard Choice, RB, Dallas Cowboys - The Arizona Cardinals can't stop the run and Choice has three touchdowns in his last four games. Though he'll probably play on Saturday, Felix Jones does have a bruised shin that caused him to miss practice and that could leave more work for Choice.

Mike Williams, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The rookie fell four yards shy of his first 100-yard receiving game since Week 8, but with quarterback Josh Freeman serving as a model of consistency and the Seahawks struggling against the pass, Williams should put up great numbers this weekend.

Owen Daniels, TE, Houston Texans - It has been a lost season for Daniels due to injury, but the Texans have been throwing the ball a lot over the last few weeks and Daniels has nine receptions in the last two games. I wouldn't be shocked if he pulls in his first TD reception of the season this weekend versus Denver.

ONE FAST MOVE OR I'M GONE

Be wary of these three players for Week 16:

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers - Stewart has 460 rushing yards over his last four games, but only one score in that span. The Steelers have a tough defense and will make the Panthers beat them through the air, leaving little room for Stewart to run.

Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers - Even if he plays after missing last week with a concussion, Rodgers faces an angry Giants team that like the Packers, needs a win badly. The difference is, New York has made a living this year punishing quarterbacks.

Johnny Knox, WR, Chicago Bears - After two miserable games in a row, Knox made the most of his two catches in Minnesota. He totaled 78 yards and had a 67- yard touchdown, but faces the New York Jets and corner Darrelle Revis this weekend.

    BOY WITH A COIN

Here is my top sleeper pick for Week 16:

Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos - The rookie used his feet and arm last weekend and will get the call again this weekend against Houston. The Texans have one of the worst pass defenses in the league and Tebow has nothing to lose in this home start.
