    NBA Who's Hot, Who's Not - February 20th

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - With the NBA All-Star Game set for this weekend, this is a great time to take an overview of your roster, evaluate its strengths and weaknesses and make the necessary changes for a big second half and a run at your league's championship.

    Hot

    Jeremy Lin, New York
    - One only has to look at the numbers to know that Lin has become a huge fantasy factor (eight games as a starter - 25.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 9.5 apg). While I still don't know whether this is simply a short-term phenomena based on opportunities or the long-term answer to the Knicks' point guard problem, I'm smart enough to ride the wave. You should be, too. We should all get a better view of the Knicks' future this week when Carmelo Anthony returns to the lineup - possible as early as Monday night. I believe Lin's numbers will fall in line with previous D'Antoni guards in New York (see Ray Felton's career with the Knicks - 17.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 9.0 apg) and that the perfect time to "sell high" is now, but for those of you who don't like to gamble ... wait until after the All-Star break.

Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee - Taking advantage of his opportunity to get massive playing time due to injuries suffered by Andrew Bogut (ankle) and Drew Gooden (wrist), Ilyasova is producing at unknown levels for the 24-year-old Turkey native. While Sunday night's "career" game of 29 points and 25 rebounds may not reappear anytime soon, he's been solid all month, averaging 14.0 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 1.4 apg. He's also shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range. For the short term, Ilyasova should be in every starting lineup. Ilyasova is owned in just 59 percent of all Yahoo leagues - pick him up today and start him tonight.

Chris Kaman, New Orleans - The Hornets have been "showcasing" Kaman for the purpose of trading him before the deadline and he's played very well over the past three games since being installed as the starting center - averaging 19.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 3.3 apg. If he continues at this pace, teams will come calling, but his best fantasy value would be if he stayed healthy and in New Orleans for the remainder of the season. Kaman is a free agent in 33 percent of all Yahoo leagues.

    Cold

    Brandon Jennings, Milwaukee
    - Jennings scoring has dropped in consecutive months (22.7 ppg to 19.5 to 15.0), which can't make fantasy owners happy. Worse, his shooting percentage also is taking a dip from a solid 46 percent in December to an ugly 32.4 percent this month. While his minutes haven't fallen off yet, if the shooting slump continues we can expect Beno Udrih to see more court time. Watch this situation carefully, but if you can get fair market value in a trade, I say pull the trigger on the deal.

Jeff Teague, Atlanta - After an excellent playoff run last spring, much was expected of Teague this season. He was given the starting point guard role on a playoff-bound Hawks team and while his statistics are the best of his career, they should be better. In February, Teague is averaging just 10.7 ppg and, more importantly, for a point guard, just 3.3 assists per contest. He's seeing about six minutes per game less this month than last as coach Larry Drew is giving Kirk Hinrich and others more court time at Teague's expense. This is not good news and doesn't look like it will get better anytime soon.

Kevin Martin, Houston - It's hard to figure out what's going on here. Over the last seven games, Martin has scored 4, 2, 28, 0, 32, 16 and 11 points. He and coach Kevin McHale don't appear to be on the same page. However, Martin is too talented to play like this for long and since you likely can't get fair market value while he is playing this inconsistently, you will have to let him play his way out of this funk.
