Thursday will be mostly sunny in Tampa Bay area

      Wednesday, May 27 2015 3:21 PM EDT2015-05-27 19:21:57 GMT
Fewer storms will develop this afternoon as drier air arrives in the Tampa Bay area. There's just a 20% chance of a late-day shower near the coast.
A few isolated storms will develop this evening, but we won't see nearly as much rain as we saw Tuesday night. Overnight will be mostly clear and with drier air. It will also feel less muggy.

    Who's Hot, Who's Not - Hitting August 10

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - To make the Who's Hot portion of the list this week you needed at least 10 letters in your last name - Edwin Encarnacion, Troy Tulowitzki and Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Oakland's Josh Willingham, who had an OPS of 1.041 over the past 14 days, just missed.

    Who's Hot

Edwin Encarnacion, Toronto - Over the past two weeks, Encarnacion has raised his batting average by 14 points, going 16-for-35 with three homers and an OPS of 1.397. Encarnacion has always been a second-half hitter (career 1st half OPS 0.756 vs. 2nd half OPS 0.822). Eligible at both third base and first base, he could be a valuable addition down the stretch. And the best news, he's only owned in about 25-percent of all leagues.

Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado - Every fantasy owner knows that "Tulo" is a second- half hitter and he's continued the trend in 2011. After an ugly May in which he batted .209 with an OPS of 0.633, Tulowitzki has improved his performance in each succeeding month from 0.876 in June to 1.019 in July and 1.287 so far in August.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Boston - Though he shares time behind the plate with Jason Varitek, Saltalamacchia has begun to find his batting stroke. Over the past two weeks he's posted an OPS 233 points above his season average, hitting three home runs and knocking in seven runs. He's owned in just 25-percent of all leagues.

    Who's Not

Denard Span, Minnesota - Span has always been a borderline fantasy value - not hitting for much power (career OPS 0.749), but adding speed to your lineup (22 SB per-year average from 2008-2010). Unfortunately, you can't steal first and Span's .042 batting average in August (1-for-24), means he's not helping you in any fantasy category.

Adam Lind, Toronto - Lind was doing an excellent job protecting Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista through May and June. He posted an OPS of 1.431 in May and 1.029 in June. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case in July when he batted just .210 and so far in August he's hitting .167. You'll have to sit him until he remember's how to hit the ball again.

Gaby Sanchez, Florida - The number pre- and post-All Star break are stunning. Sanchez batted .293 with 13 HR, 50 RBI and had an OPS of 0.846 before the "Summer Classic" and he's batting just .213 with three homers and 12 RBI since the break. I'm not sure whether it is related to the Marlins' change of hitting coaches or his battling a tight hamstring, but something has happened. You should not be starting Sanchez at this point.
