Final Score: NY Yankees 6, LA Dodgers 4

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Ichiro Suzuki went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, three RBI and two runs scored to pace the New York Yankees in a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opener of a day-night doubleheader. Lyle Overbay contributed a two-run double and Mariano Rivera struck out a pair in the ninth to earn his 25th save and hand former teammate and current Dodgers manager, Don Mattingly, a loss in his return to Yankee Stadium. Mattingly spent his entire 14-year career (1982-95) with New York and served as a bench coach to former Yankee manager Joe Torre before leaving the club following the 2007 season. It was also the first meeting in the Bronx between the Yankees and Dodgers since the 1981 World Series, won by Los Angeles. Huroki Kuroda (7-5) ended a five-start winless streak with 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball. He allowed eight hits and two walks. Hanley Ramirez went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Dodgers, who have lost seven of their last nine games. Hyun-Jin Ryu (6-3) was tagged for three runs on five hits over six innings.

Final Score: Arizona 3, Miami 1

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - A three-run homer from Cody Ross in the bottom of the eighth broke a scoreless tie and lifted the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 3-1 victory in Wednesday's rubber match with the Miami Marlins. Jose Fernandez (4-4) had limited the D'backs to three hits over seven innings, but walked a pair in the eighth before being replaced with one out. On the fourth pitch of his at-bat, Ross sent an offering from reliever Mike Dunn into the left field seats to open up a three-run cushion for Arizona. Heath Bell served up a solo homer to Justin Ruggiano in the ninth, but worked out of trouble to notch his 13th save and clinch a second straight win for Arizona. Josh Collmenter tossed six shutout frames in relief for the D'backs after starter Trevor Cahill was forced to exit with a hip injury. David Hernandez (4-4) pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up the win.

Final Score: San Francisco 4, San Diego 2

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Pinch-hitter Gregor Blanco came through with a go-ahead two-run triple as the San Francisco Giants scored three times in the seventh inning to record a 4-2 victory over the San Diego Padres in a testy finale of a three-game series at AT&T Park. Blanco's clutch hit off Luke Gregerson enabled Madison Bumgarner (7-4) to notch his third straight winning start after the left-hander held the Padres to two runs and three hits while striking out eight over seven strong innings. Both runs allowed by Bumgarner came on solo homers, including one from Jesus Guzman that snapped a 1-1 tie in the top of the seventh. Guzman and Bumgarner were also involved in a contentious moment earlier in the contest, with the Giants' hurler brushing back the first baseman during the second inning in apparent retaliation for Guzman's exuberant celebration after cracking a two-run homer during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to San Francisco. The incident triggered both benches to clear, though no punches were thrown or ejections handed out. Will Venable also homered for the Padres, who had a season-high seven-game win streak halted with Tuesday's setback.
