Description: Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong had all five pins removed from his right hand Tuesday, according to MLB.com.

Insight: Vogelsong broke his right pinky back on May 20 when he was hit by a pitch. The right-hander was only expected to have two or three pins removed Tuesday, but all five were taken out. That could accelerate the pace of his recovery.

Insight: Crawford is dealing with some swelling, according to Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area. He hasn\'t been ruled out for Thursday\'s game yet and might be able to play.

Insight: Davis could play more on the outside this season due to Michael Crabtree\'s injury. Anquan Boldin, the 49ers\' No. 1 receiver, plays his best football in the slot. There\'s no denying Davis is one of the most physically gifted players in the NFL, but that hasn\'t often translated to fantasy success during his seven-year career. He\'s only reached 800 yards twice and double-digit touchdowns once.

Description: Cardinals coach Bruce Arians confirmed "there\'s no doubt" that Rashard Mendenhall would be the team\'s featured back if the season started today, according to NFL.com.

Insight: Arians is familiar with Mendenhall because he used to be his offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh. Mendenhall is expected to serve as a three-down running back this season and could be a solid RB2 if Arizona\'s line holds up.
