Browns QB Weeden has sprained thumb
Berea, Ohio (Sports Network) - Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden has a sprained thumb after hitting it on a helmet during the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss in Baltimore.
The Browns will take a wait-and-see approach in terms of Weeden's availability to practice or play in Sunday's game at Minnesota.
"We'll see how it responds in the next couple of days," Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said Monday.
"It's the next morning. You don't always get an indication on how quickly guys start feeling better," said Chudzinski.
He said they will wait until Wednesday to see if Weeden is healthy enough to practice.
If Weeden can't play, Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer would start. Campbell took over for Weeden on Cleveland's final possession and threw three incompletions in a row. His fourth pass, an underhand scoop, left Jordan Cameron well short of a first down.
The Browns lost the game 14-6.
"I'm going to keep all of our options open right now," said Chudzinski.
Weeden passed for 227 yards before leaving the game. The 2012 first-round pick has thrown for 516 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions this season for the Browns (0-2).
