Final Score: Oklahoma City 101, Atlanta 92
Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Durant filled the stat sheet with 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a late Atlanta charge to top the Hawks 101-92 from Philips Arena.
Paul Millsap and Shelvin Mack drained consecutive triples for a four-point margin with 3:28 remaining. Mack then cut it to 95-92 with a jumper with two minutes left, but Russell Westbrook went to his left hand on a reverse layup on the other end and Durant made 4-of-4 from the foul line to put it away.
Westbrook scored 14 points with 11 assists for OKC, winners in three straight and 11 of 12. Serge Ibaka added 19 points and 10 boards.
"Offensively we moved the ball, found good shots," said Durant. "We were able to take that punch and give a bigger punch back on the defensive end."
Millsap's 23-point, 12-rebound effort paced Atlanta, which had its brief two- game winning streak come to an end to fall back to .500. The loss leaves Miami and Indiana as the only two teams in the Eastern Conference with a winning record.
Jeff Teague and Mack had 17 points and six assists apiece in the setback, while Kyle Korver extended his 3-point shooting streak to 91 games with a third quarter trey.
"I thought defensively we played hard," said Korver. "I thought we had our moments. We just had a couple of stretches during the game, we're just killing ourselves."
The first quarter featured four ties and 10 lead changes, as Ibaka's free throws made it 21-21 after 12 minutes.
OKC quickly went ahead early in the second quarter on a three-point play by Ibaka, and it never trailed after that. Durant drew a foul in the final seconds of the first half and split a pair for a 48-39 halftime advantage.
Andre Roberson, starting in place of an injured Thabo Sefolosha, capped a 6-0 Thunder flurry with a putback four minutes into the third quarter to push the visitors' lead to 60-47.
Teague's floater had Atlanta's deficit at seven midway through the period, but Durant came back with a trey to keep the Hawks at arm's length.
Westbrook drained his only 3 of the contest with 4:24 left in the final frame before Mack caught fire to make it competitive down the stretch.
OKC won the rebounding margin 54-45 ... The Thunder outscored Atlanta 38-28 in the paint ... Mack's 17 points were a career-high ... Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb netted 13 and 11 points, respectively, for OKC ... Sefolosha has a sprained right knee and is considered day-to-day.
