Description: Marlins right-hander Jacob Turner is headed back to the bullpen. SOURCE: Juan Rodriguez, Miami Sun Sentinel
Insight: After three rough outings in a row, manager Mike Redmond decided it was time for a change. Turner owns a 6.38 ERA in nine appearances this season and shouldn't be owned in any fantasy leagues.

Description: Miami right-hander Jacob Turner finally entered the win column Saturday against Milwaukee.

Description: Marlins right-hander Jacob Turner (shoulder) will start a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday, according to the Miami Herald. If he can avoid a setback, he'll make two starts and rejoin Miami's rotation.
Insight: Turner is out with a strained shoulder. The 22-year-old had a 3.74 ERA in 118 innings last season, but his 77/54 K/BB and 1.44 WHIP left a lot to be desired.

Description: The Marlins have placed RHP Jacob Turner (shoulder) on the disabled list.
Insight: Turner is out with a strained shoulder. The 22-year-old had a 3.74 ERA in 118 innings last season, but his 77/54 K/BB and 1.44 WHIP left a lot to be desired. Brad Hand will join the rotation in his place but we could see prospect Andrew Heaney called up sooner than expected if Turner has to miss an extended period of time and Hand struggles.

4/8/2014 10:43:00 PM
Description: The Marlins have scratched RHP Jacob Turner from Wednesday's start due to a strained shoulder, according to Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post.
Insight: The Rockies knocked around Turner in his first start of the season, tagging him for eight hits and five earned in six innings. The 22-year-old had a 3.74 ERA in 118 innings last season, but his 77/54 K/BB and 1.44 WHIP left a lot to be desired. Brad Hand will start Wednesday.

Insight: In his first full season in the major leagues, Turner went 3-8 with a 3.74 ERA in 20 appearances. The 22-year-old was drafted with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2009 MLB Draft.

Cold8/20/2013 10:46:00 PM
Description: Marlins starter Jacob Turner has issued 14 free passes over his last 15 innings.
Insight: Turner allowed four runs (three earned) on 10 hits, struck out none and walked five Tuesday against the Dodgers. His ERA is still just 3.02 because he has stranded his runners well, but his WHIP is now up to 1.36.

Hot7/10/2013 9:29:00 PM
Description: Marlins starter Jacob Turner turned in another excellent outing Wednesday afternoon against the Braves.
Insight: Turner gave up four hits and two earned runs, walked three and struck out five in seven innings to improve to 3-1. The former first-round draft pick has posted a 2.33 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP and a 35/16 K/BB in 54 innings this season.

Hot6/29/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: Marlins starter Jacob Turner fired his first career complete game Saturday against the visiting Padres.
Insight: Turner allowed one run on seven hits, walked one and struck out seven. The right-hander has made six starts since being recalled from Triple-A and is 2-0 with a 1.76 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP in 41 innings. The former ninth-overall pick should be added in all leagues.

Hot6/22/2013 9:32:00 PM
Description: Miami righthander Jacob Turner (7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER) pitched well in a no-decision Saturday against San Francisco.
Insight: He's been terrific since his call-up from Triple-A on May 31st. The only thing holding him back right now is his control. Turner (1-0, 1.97 ERA) has allowed two walks or more in three of his last four starts.

6/11/2013 9:40:00 PM
Description: Marlins starter Jacob Turner threw seven innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts Tuesday against Milwaukee.
Insight: Turner (1-0, 1.80 ERA) had a 3-2 lead with one out in the seventh, but he issued a one-out walk, right fielder Giancarlo Stanton misplayed a ball into a game-tying triple and Scooter Gennett dropped down a suicide squeeze to put the Brewers ahead. Turner, the ninth-overall pick in the 2009 draft, is 2-4 with a strong 2.87 ERA in 62 2/3 innings since joining Miami from Detroit in the Anibal Sanchez trade last summer.

5/31/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Jacob Turner was terrific Friday versus New York.
Insight: The Marlins righthander tossed seven shutout frames for his first win of 2013. The former first round pick walked one and struck out three. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Phillies.

Description: Miami righthander Jacob Turner will start Friday against the Mets. SOURCE: Juan Rodriguez, Sun Sentinel
Insight: Turner, who spent the first two months of 2013 with Triple-A New Orleans, is 2-6 with a 5.19 ERA in 13 career major league starts. This year with New Orleans he's gone 3-4 with a 4.47 ERA in 10 outings.

5/14/2013 10:05:00 PM
Description: Marlins pitching prospect Jacob Turner has allowed 46 hits, 23 earned runs and seven homers, walked 12 and struck out 26 in 43 1/3 innings with Triple-A New Orleans this season.
Insight: He's 3-3 with a 4.78 ERA in eight starts. The 21-year-old former Detroit Tigers first-rounder went 1-4 with a 3.38 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 42 2/3 innings after being traded from Detroit to Miami for Anibal Sanchez last summer. With Wade LeBlanc struggling and Henderson Alvarez and Nathan Eovaldi on the DL, the Marlins could use Turner, but he hasn't pitched well enough at Triple-A to warrant a callup.

9/14/2012 10:32:00 PM
Description: Righthander Jacob Turner turned in his best outing as a Marlin Friday versus Cincinnati. In seven scoreless innings, Turner let up just two hits, walking two and striking out three.
Insight: The 21-year-old is now 1-2 with a 3.75 ERA in four appearances since getting traded on July 23rd.

8/23/2012 10:46:00 AM
Description: Marlins pitcher Jacob Turner will remain in the rotation, according to Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post.
Insight: Turner is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. He threw a quality start Wednesday in his first appearance with the Marlins since coming over from the Tigers and is worth a look in deeper leagues.

8/22/2012 10:07:00 PM
Description: Jacob Turner's first start with the Marlins Wednesday went much better than his first six with the Tigers. Turner lost the game, but he threw a quality start and didn't walk a batter.
Insight: Turner is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, but he posted an 8.28 ERA in six starts with Detroit over the past two seasons. Turner has recorded a 1.98 ERA in Triple-A since coming over in a trade for Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante. The right-hander will only stay in the big leagues if the team expands to a six-man rotation, but he could earn a permanent spot in September.

7/23/2012 8:34:00 PM
Description: The Marlins have assigned right-hander Jacob Turner to Triple-A New Orleans.
Insight: Turner was acquired Monday from Detroit for Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante. He's considered one of the top prospects in baseball, so he's worth a look in deeper leagues if he's recalled this season.

7/23/2012 6:07:00 PM
Description: Detroit has traded Jacob Turner for Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante.
Insight: Turner has made six starts at the major league level and has allowed 23 earned runs in 25 innings, but the 21-year-old is ranked 10th on MLB.com's list of the top 100 prospects. It's unknown if Miami will keep Turner in the big leagues or send him to the minors, so you can hold off on adding him in fantasy right now.

7/17/2012 11:00:00 PM
Description: In his second start of the season for the Tigers, the Angels throttled Detroit righthander Jacob Turner on Tuesday. In two innings of work, the 21-year-old allowed six hits and seven earned runs. He was taken out just 52 pitches into his outing.
Insight: Turner (0-1, 10.29 ERA) had a very encouraging game against the Cardinals in his first start of the year on June 21 (5 IP, 4 H, ER) but on Tuesday he was an absolute trainwreck. The Tigers were planning on using Turner in the rotation while Drew Smyly is out with an intercostal strain but after this awful performance, they may have to reconsider.
