Fantasy Position Rankings - Kickers
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - You always seem to get what you pay for.

Kansas City chose rookie kicker Cairo Santos over veteran Ryan Succop at the end of preseason. The cheaper option has missed half his kicks to start 2014 and did not make our top 25 rankings for Week 3.

Although it might be harder to accuse Detroit for going with a cheaper option because David Akers did not have a great season last year, their rookie kicker, Nate Freese, is just 2-for-5 to start his career. Freese is helped by the fact the Lions will likely be in a shootout with the Packers this week, so he comes in at No. 15.

That's if he keeps his job.

The top kickers for Week 3 are all of the familiar faces. New England's Stephen Gostkowski has the second most points among kickers so far, and the Patriots welcome the Raiders to town on Sunday. The kickers ranked second through eighth for Week 3 kick for elite offenses and/or their teams have very friendly matchups.

Denver's Brandon McManus goes from kicking in mile high to sea level in Seattle and thus dipped in the rankings.

Surprisingly, the only kicker with more points than Gostkowski through two weeks is Buffalo's Dan Carpenter. Against Miami in Week 2, he went 5-for-6 and made both extra points. He might be a hot commodity right now, but keep in mind, the kicking conditions in Buffalo will only get worse as the season goes.
