Landry thriving in Sacramento

Carl Landry was shipped off to Sacramento in a huge multi-player deal.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - In Houston, power forward Carl Landry was the first big man off the bench. When he came into the game, he was a focal point of the offense and got plenty of opportunities most of which he cashed in to become a solid "fantasy-worthy" player despite not being a starter.

Landry was traded at the deadline, shipped off to Sacramento in a huge multi-player deal which sent, among others, shooting guard Kevin Martin to the Rockets.

For fantasy owners change always brings concern, because the unknown is the worst thing for a game which worships predictability.

But fear not.

Landry's numbers have improved since heading west. As a Sacramento King, Landry has started all eight games he's played and we have seen an almost across-the- board increase in his production.

Landry has proved consistent, scoring double digits in every game and has begun to rebound more. Over the last four games he's averaging 8.2 rebounds-per- contest.

My first reaction to the trade was concern for playing time given the presence of C/F Jason Thompson and C Spencer Hawes. But then Thompson went down with a non-displaced fracture in his lower back and Landry has gotten more than enough opportunity to shine.

Since Thompson's injury, Landry have averaged over 38 minutes-per-game and 12 shots. This situation should continue for a couple more weeks, making Landry a solid starting option.

Landry is owned in 79% of all leagues, pick him up if you are in one of those leagues where he is a free agent. If he's on your roster...start him.
