Description: Flyers goalie Ray Emery started for a consecutive game and earned another victory.
Insight: After playing okay against the Penguins on Wednesday and receiving the win, Emery was great on Saturday. He stopped 35-of-27 shots on goal, and is now in line for more playing time. Do not be surprised if he starts over Steve Mason next time out.
Description: Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 33 shots on Friday against the Ducks.
Insight: Bobrovsky fell victim to some bad luck. He allowed two early power-play goals to the most lethal man advantage unit in the NHL a season ago, and Columbus produced just 17 shots on net themselves. Bobrovsky is 4-3 with a 2.47 GAA and .920 save percentage.
Description: Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen made 25 stops on 27 shots against the Devils on Friday.
Insight: Lehtonen and the Stars won in a shootout. Lehtonen allowed the Devils to tie the game with about eight minutes left in the third, but he stopped both shots he face in the shootout. He is 4-0-2 with a 2.83 GAA.
Description: Ducks goalie John Gibson will start on Friday against the Blue Jackets according to the Orange County Register.
Insight: Gibson started opening night and allowed six goals to the Penguins. Frederik Andersen took over in net and has won his last six starts. During that time, Gibson asked to be sent to the minors to get a few starts to stay fresh, so we do not expect him to at all be rusty on Friday.
Description: Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov has been activated from the IR and is ready to play Friday against the Canucks according to the Denver Post.
Insight: Colorado is off to a really slow start and Varlamov's performance is part of that. He is 0-2-1 with a .910 save percentage and a 3.80 GAA. His numbers can do nothing but go up, though, there are doubts are to whether he can repeat his stellar numbers from last season.
Description: Penguins backup goalie Thomas Greiss looked poised to pickup his first victory of the season until the Red Wings scored two goals in the final three minutes of the third period.
Insight: Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall scored the late third-period goals to tie the game at 3-3. Pittsburgh had a chance to put the game "on ice" with an empty net goal, but they were unable to convert. Justin Abdelkader scored the game-winner with 46 seconds left in overtime. Greiss stopped 31-of-35 shots.
Description: Canucks goalie Ryan Miller will face one of his old teams on Thursday.
Insight: Miller played about half a season with St. Louis last season and posted average numbers. The Blues did not try to bring him back to this year's team. Miller will attempt to bounce back against the Blues on Thursday after he allowed five goals on 13 shots against the Stars on Tuesday.
Description: Flyers goalie Ray Emery stopped 22 of 25 shots in a victory on Wednesday against the Penguins.
Insight: Emery wasn't particularly good, but the Flyers controlled the puck for much of the game. Emery helped the Flyers penalty kill keep the top power-play unit of Pittsburgh scoreless on two tries. Steve Mason is still the starting goalie, but Emery might receive some more playing time moving forward. Keep an eye on this situation.
Description: The Flyers will start Ray Emery on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Insight: This isn't that surprising since Steven Mason played on Tuesday. Emery has a 2.73 GAA and .907 save percentage in two games this season. With Mason's slow start, perhaps Emery receives more playing time if he plays well on Wednesday.
Description: Canucks goalie Ryan Miller was pulled in the second period, in Tuesday's loss to Dallas.
Insight: He let up five goals on only 13 shots, before getting the hook. It was Miller's first loss of the season, but owners should expect this just to be a minor hiccup. Eddie lack took over, and he was able to stop 14-of-15 shots on goal.
Description: Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak was pulled in Tuesday's loss to Toronto.
Insight: He let up five goals on 23 shots, before being yanked in the third period. It was Halak's second loss of the season, but he remains entrenched as New York's top goaltender. Chad Johnson replaced Halak and stopped all five shots he faced.
Description: Captals goalie Justin Peters stopped 20-of-21 shots against the Panthers on Saturday.
Insight: The only goal Peters allowed was on the power play, but unfortunately for Washington, they also only scored one goal in regulation. Peters earned the victory in the shootout. The goalie stopped Panthers' right winger Jossi Jokinen and then Alex Ovechkin scored to win.
Description: Senators backup goalie Robin Lehner won again on Saturday against the Blue Jackets.
Insight: Lehner has earned more playing time with his great play. On Saturday, he allowed just two goals on 40 shots to post a .950 save percentage in the game. He helped kill both Blue Jacket power plays. Lehner will likely stay in net as long as he is playing well.

Insight: Detroit and Toronto played a home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday. Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard earned the victory on Friday and had the day off on Saturday. The victory was Gustavsson's first of the season.
Description: Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier was excellent in a loss to the Red Wings on Saturday night.
Insight: Bernier stopped 31-of-32 shots for a .969 save percentage in the game, but lost 1-0. He allowed Henrik Zetterberg to score with ten seconds left in overtime. Reimer is 2-2 to start the season.
Description: Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak allowed just two goals, both on the power play, against the Penguins on Saturday.
Insight: Halak was superb, stopping 35-of-37 shots for a .946 save percentage. The Islanders held a 1-0 lead in the second period when New York took consecutive penalties and found themselves down two men. The Penguins scored on both power plays and then added an empty netter.
Description: Avalanche goalie Calvin Pickard will start in goal against the Canadiens on Saturday evening.
Insight: Both Semyon Varlamov and Reto Berra are banged up, paving the way for Pickard to get the nod. However, Pickard will likely not see many more starts after this one, meaning he can be left on waivers.
Description: Sabres goalie Jhonas Enroth will be back in net for Buffalo on Saturday night.
Insight: After losing a tough one on Friday to the Panthers, 1-0, the Sabres are sticking with the hot hand. Owners need to make sure he is in their lineups, as goalies rarely play back-to-back nights.
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 27-of-28 shots and earned the victory on Friday against the Wild.
Insight: Andersen is off to a fantastic start, as he is now 4-0-0 with a 1.72 goals against average, along with a .937 save percentage. Owners who took the chance on him, have it paying off tremendously, early on.
Description: Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper took his first loss of the season Friday against the Ducks.
Insight: He had two shutouts in his first two starts of the season, but could not keep that trend going on Friday. Kuemper stopped 24-of-26 shots, and is now 2-1-0 with a 0.67 goals against average and a .972 save percentage. Owners scoop him up, if Kuemper is still available.
Description: Canucks goalie Ryan Miller earned his first shutout with the team, in a 2-0 win over Edmonton.
Insight: So far so good for Miller and Vancouver, as he is now 3-0-0 with a 1.95 goals against average, and a .927 save percentage. It is early, but this signing is looking like a steal. Fantasy owners, start Miller with confidence.
Description: Sharks goalie Alex Stalock played well in Thursday's shootout loss.
Insight: He stopped 42-of-45 shots, and has played well in both of his starts this season. Antti Niemi is the Sharks number one goalie, but has a short leash, and Stalock will continue to be waiting in the wings.
Description: Carolina goaltender Anton Khudobin played well in a shootout loss to the Rangers.
Insight: He gave up only one goal on 34 shots, and is making a case for more playing time. Him and Cam Ward are essentially playing every other game, however starts like this one could help Khudobin separate himself.
Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider was pulled in Thursday's loss to Washington.
Insight: It was his first loss of the season, after winning his first three starts. Schneider stooped only 21-of-26 shots, before Scott Clemmensen relieved him in the third period. Schneider is still a solid option in net, moving forward.
Description: Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov is dealing with a groin strain and will be a game-time decision, according to a Denver Post report. UPDATE: Varlamov has been placed on injured reserve, and should be considered day-to-day.
Insight: Coach Patrick Roy will likely error on the side of caution. Backup goalie Reto Berra was excellent Monday stopping 27-of-28 shots and is a viable option for fantasy owners.
Description: Kings goalie Jonathan Quick won his first game of the season on Tuesday.
Insight: Quick stopped 31-of-32 shots, including all four power-play shots he faced. Quick nearly recorded the shutout against the Oilers, but Edmonton scored in the final minute. The Kings goalie is 1-1-1 to start the season.
Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider stopped 26-of-27 shots on Tuesday against the Lightning.
Insight: Schneider has won his first three starts this season and has allowed just six goals. That means he has allowed just a pair of goals in the last two games after giving up four on opening night. We expect Schneider to become one of the best fantasy goalies by the end of the season.
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 39-of-42 shots against the Flyers on Tuesday.
Insight: Anaheim is splitting time between Andersen and fellow goaltender John Gibson to start the season. Gibson had a couple qustionable starts, so it is nice to see Andersen play well. He posted a .929 save percentage on Tuesday.
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist allowed six goals for a second straight start on Tuesday.
Insight: Lundqvist stopped just 18-of-24 shots against the Maple Leafs on Sunday. He did slightly better on Tuesday, turning aside 21 out of 27 shots from the Islanders, but his save percentage was still well below .800. Lundqvist is in some obvious funk, but fantasy owners should by no means panic.
Description: Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth will start on Tuesday against the Kings according to the team's play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels.
Insight: Fasth saved 39-of-43 shots in his first start on Saturday, so the Oilers will stick with him between the pipes. Fasth and Ben Scrivens are expected to split the team's starts at goalie this season.
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was pulled after giving up four goals to Tampa Bay.
Insight: He had 19 saves on 23 shots, and was taken out after the second period. Dustin Tokarski took over, and did not fare much better, as he gave up three goals on 11 shots. This is just a hiccup for Price, who is still an elite option in net.
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo allowed just one goal against the Senators on Monday and lost, 1-0.
Insight: Luongo stopped 22-of-23 shots for a .957 save percentage, but it was not enough to lead Florida to victory. The Senators crashed the net hard, and Luongo looked shaken up a few times, but he played the entire game besides when Florida went with an empty net.
Description: Bruins goalie Niklas Svedberg saved 28 of 30 shots in a gut-wrenching loss against the Avalanche on Monday.
Insight: The Bruins were one second away from at least one point when Svedberg allowed Daniel Briere's shot to squeak by for the game-winner. This was Svedberg's second career start, and he will serve as Tuukka Rask's backup this year.
Description: It was a night to forget for Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist as he gave up six goals on 24 shots.
Insight: Lundqvist was pulled in the second period. We have no doubts he'll be a top goaltender again this season, this was just one of those days. He's won 53.8 percent of his games over his career and has won at least 30 games every season except the 2012-13 48-game campaign.
Description: Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist will be in goal Sunday, after getting the night off against Columbus.
Insight: Cam Talbot starting in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets, but will give way to New York's star goalie against Toronto.. Lundqvist earned the victory in his first start of the season, turning away 25-of-27 shots on goal.
Description: Sharks goalie Alex Stalock pitched a shutout in first start of the season.
Insight: After Antti Niemi shut out the Kings on opening night, Stalock matched his counterpart. He stopped all 30 shots he faced, and now owners will need to keep an eye on Stalock, to see if he becomes a relevant fantasy player.
Description: Kings goalie Jonathan Quick is still in search of his first win of the season.
Insight: After giving up four goals in the opener, Quick gave up another three Saturday night, in an overtime loss to the Coyotes. He was much better in his second game however, stopping 37-of-40 shots. He is now 0-1-1, but owners should not worry, as Quick is one of the elite goalies in the NHL.
Description: Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov will start on Saturday against the Wild.
Insight: Coach Patrick Roy pulled Varlamov in the season opener against the Wild on Thursday after he allowed five goals in the first two periods. Although Varlamov did not play well, the entire team did not perform. Look for a bounce back game from Varlamov.
Description: Flames goalie Jonas Hiller will start in net against the Blues on Saturday.
Insight: Hiller was great in his Falmes debut against the Canucks on Wednesday, but Calgary lost, 3-2. Hiller and other goalie Karri Ramo are expected to share time in the net this year, but Hiller appears to have the edge at the moment.
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will return to the ice on Saturday against the Flyers.
Insight: Price won the season opener on Wednesday against the Maple Leafs, but he got the night off Thursday in Washington. Backup goalie Dustin Tokarski won that game. Price should return to your starting fantasy lineup on Saturday.
Description: Goalie Ryan Miller will make his home debut in Vancouver on Saturday.
Insight: Miller stopped 23 of 25 shots in a victory over the Flames in Calgary on Thursday. Vancouver will welcome the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Miller could be a top-10 fantasy goalie again this season, but he must play well against the lower-tier teams like Edmonton in order for that to happen.
