Notes:
2007: Selected by LA Lakers in 2nd round (48th overall) of the NBA Draft...2008: Traded to Memphis in a five-player deal, Feb. 1st...2009: NBA All-Rookie Second Team...2011: Re-signed with Memphis to a four-year deal worth $58 million...2012: NBA All-Star; Silver Medallist with Spain at Summer Olympics in London...2013: NBA Defensive Player of the Year; NBA All-Defensive Second Team; All NBA Second Team.

Brother of NBA standout Pau Gasol...Great size for the center position with plenty of strength...Tremendously soft hands enable Gasol to catch the ball cleanly and score in the post...Has a wide array of post moves and knows how to use his big frame to his advantage...Rebounds the ball well, as he knows how to box out the opposition...A high basketball I.Q. and tremendous work ethic as well...Not a great natural athlete like his brother...Will rely much more on strength and size than quickness and agility...Seems to be improving day by day...Needs to stay out of foul trouble, a problem in the past.
