Thabo Sefolosha, G7/3/2014 8:47:00 PM
Description: The Hawks have signed guard Thabo Sefolosha to a three-year, $12 million contract.
Insight: Sefolosha has never averaged more than 8.5 ppg in a season and he's unlikely to do so with the Hawks. He's a defensive guard with more real-life value than fantasy value, though he wasn't very good in real life either this postseason and found himself benched.
Al Horford, C5/22/2014 12:01:00 PM
Description: Atlanta star center Al Horford is apparently on schedule for next season.
Insight: Dr. Xavier Duralde said Horford should be cleared for full participation of all normal basketball activities by the start of training camp. Horford averaged 18.6 ppg and 8.4 rog for 29 games this season before a torn pectoral muscle ended his season.

Insight: Millsap had another off shooting night (6-for-21 for 15 points) but he was excellent defensively with 17 rebounds, four steals and one blocked shot. Atlanta's season is over but give the Hawks credit for making it as far as they did without Al Horford (torn pectoral muscle).

Description: Atlanta point guard Jeff Teague put up 29 points in Thursday's loss to the Pacers.

Paul Millsap, F5/1/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Atlanta forward Paul Millsap was magnificent before fouling out Thursday against Indiana.
Insight: Though Millsap struggled to find his shot (just 4-of-13) he still finished with 16 points, 18 boards, five assists, three steals and two blocked shots. He'll have to be even better in Game 7 if the Hawks hope to advance to the next round.
Paul Millsap, F4/26/2014 8:44:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap put up a game-high 29 points in Saturday's loss to Indiana.
Insight: Millsap continues to be a force in all areas for Atlanta, contributing 21.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.5 bpg through the first four games of this series. One play he'd like to have back was the last possession when Millsap ran into a wall of defenders before passing it to Pero Antic for the final shot. The series is tied 2-2 heading into Monday's Game 5.

John Jenkins, G1/6/2014 10:37:00 AM
Description: Hawks backup guard John Jenkins could return as early as Jan 8, according to beat writer Chris Vivlamore.
Insight: Jenkins (3.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.8 apg) is buried on the depth chart so his return won't change much for fantasy owners.
Pero Antic, C1/3/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: Hawks center Pero Antic started Friday and had 16 points, seven rebounds and four threes in 27 minutes.
Insight: With Al Horford out for the season with a torn pectoral, the Hawks are extremely thin at center and will likely stick with Antic after this performance.
DeMarre Carroll, SF1/3/2014 9:57:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll (thumb) had 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals in his return to the lineup Friday against the Warriors.
Insight: Carroll has averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.0 threes per game this season, making him a decent fantasy option at small forward.
DeMarre Carroll, SF1/3/2014 4:58:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll (thumb) is expected to start Friday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Caroll sprained his thumb last Thursday, tried to play through it on Saturday but failed to score in 19 minutes and then missed the last two games. He returned to practice Thursday, however.

Al Horford, C12/31/2013 7:24:00 PM
Description: Atlanta has officially ruled center Al Horford out for the season. SOURCE: Hawks on Twitter
Insight: Well that settles that. Horford had surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle on Tuesday. Elton Brand has been starting in his place with very limited success (4.7 ppg in Horford's absence).
Paul Millsap, FHot12/31/2013 4:42:00 PM
Description: Paul Millsap rescued the Hawks with 34 points and 15 boards Tuesday in a 92-91 victory over the Celtics.
Insight: That seems to be Millsap's MO lately. The 6-foot-8, 260-pounder has posted 20 points or more in four of his last five contests. During that span, the only game the Hawks have lost was when Millsap was limited to 17 points Sunday against the Magic.
Al Horford, C12/30/2013 8:16:00 PM
Description: Hawks center Al Horford is set to undergo surgery on his torn pectoral muscle. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo Sports
Insight: The surgery will happen on Tuesday. Horford expects to miss the rest of the season. Elton Brand has been inserted as the team's new starting center. He's only averaging 5.0 ppg in Horford's absence so fantasy owners should wait before adding him.
DeMarre Carroll, SF12/29/2013 7:02:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll won't be with the team Sunday in Orlando or Tuesday in Boston. SOURCE: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Lou Williams, SG12/28/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: Atlanta shooting guard Lou Williams scored 28 points with five rebounds and four threes in 34 minutes Saturday against Charlotte.
Insight: Williams has scored 25-plus points two other times in the last two weeks. Both times, he followed it up with two straight games below 10 points. We'll see if he can have a better encore Sunday at Orlando.
DeMarre Carroll, SF12/28/2013 10:16:00 PM
Description: Atlanta forward DeMarre Carroll (thumb) only played 19 minutes and didn't score Saturday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Carroll's sprained thumb must have really been bothering him. He was a game-time decision due to the injury.
Paul Millsap, FHot12/28/2013 10:13:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap had 33 points, 13 rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 40 minutes Saturday against the Bobcats.
Insight: With Al Horford most likely out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, Millsap is going to have more chances to score and rebound for the Hawks as their only inside threat. He's averaging 26 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.0 steals and 3.3 threes over his last three games.
DeMarre Carroll, SF12/28/2013 7:08:00 PM

Elton Brand, F/C12/28/2013 1:48:00 PM
Description: Elton Brand will take over at center in Al Horford's absence. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: Horford went down with a torn pectoral muscle earlier in the week and could miss the rest of the season. It's unknown if the move is permanent. Mike Scott and Pero Antic are next up on the depth chart if Brand (2.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg) struggles in his new role.
Al Horford, C12/28/2013 10:05:00 AM
Description: Atlanta center Al Horford conceded that he probably won't play again this season, even if the Hawks were to make the playoffs. SOURCE: David Aldridge, TNT
Insight: Horford tore his right pectoral muscle in Thursday night's win over Cleveland. Who the Hawks start at center from here on out is anyone's guess. It will probably end up being some kind of timeshare between Pero Antic, Mike Scott, Elton Brand and maybe even Gustavo Ayon. It's a crushing blow to Atlanta's hopes of making the postseason.
DeMarre Carroll, SF12/27/2013 8:30:00 PM
Description: X-rays on DeMarre Carroll's injured thumb didn't show any structural damage. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: That's good news though it doesn't give us a clear timetable for when we might expect to see Carroll back on the court. The Hawks were delivered a big blow earlier today when it was announced Al Horford would be out indefinitely with a torn pectoral muscle.
Al Horford, C12/27/2013 7:05:00 PM
Description: Hawks center Al Horford is out indefinitely with a torn right pectoral muscle. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: It's a complete tear and will probably keep Horford sidelined for the rest of the season. Mike Scott and Pero Antic will fight it out for minutes at center while he's out. Neither are good fantasy options.
DeMarre Carroll, SF12/27/2013 2:04:00 PM
Description: Atlanta forward DeMarre Carroll's sprained right thumb kept him out of Friday's practice, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Jeff Teague, PG12/26/2013 10:22:00 PM
Description: Atlanta point guard Jeff Teague won the game in thrilling fashion Thursday against Cleveland.
Insight: His game-winning bucket at the end of double-overtime rattled around the basket for a good three seconds before it finally dropped in. Teague led the Hawks with a career-high 34 points and 14 assists in the victory. There's no doubt about it, Teague is a game-changer. His 16.8 ppg scoring average this season is a career-high.

Description: Atlanta center Al Horford injured his right shoulder in Thursday night's game against the Cavaliers. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Cartier Martin, F12/26/2013 10:45:00 AM
Description: Hawks SG/SF Cartier Martin is questionable for Thursday's game against Cleveland due to a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Martin has averaged 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 1.4 threes in just 18 minutes per game this season, but has missed the last five games with the ankle injury. He has little fantasy value, but his absence gives more minutes to DeMarre Carroll, who could then have value.
Lou Williams, SG12/20/2013 9:44:00 PM
Description: Atlanta shooting guard Lou Williams had 25 points and six threes in 24 minutes Friday against Utah.
Insight: It was his second game with at least 25 points over his last four games, but he scored just seven points combined in the other two games during that span.

Description: Hawks center Al Horford has three double-doubles in the last four games.
Insight: He had 25 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and one steal in 31 minutes Wednesday against the Kings. The center has kept his scoring in the same area as last season and increased his blocks but his rebounds are down nearly two per game because he is playing four minutes fewer per contest.
Jeff Teague, PGHot12/18/2013 10:43:00 PM
Description: Hawks point guard Jeff Teague has posted two straight double-doubles.
Insight: Teague had 18 points and 15 assists Wednesday in a win over Sacramento and has raised his scoring by 1.4 ppg from last season with Josh Smith gone.
Gustavo Ayon, C12/18/2013 11:07:00 AM
Description: Atlanta center Gustavo Ayon won't play Wednesday against the Kings. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: He's out with an ankle injury. Ayon can rebound a little (4.2 rpg) but he isn't a fantasy option.
Lou Williams, SG12/14/2013 10:15:00 PM
Description: Atlanta shooting guard Lou Williams had 27 points with six threes in 29 minutes Saturday against the Knicks.
Insight: It was his first 20-point game since returning from a torn ACL on Nov. 15 and it came in his first back-to-back of the season. Williams hasn't had to sit out any games since Nov. 30.

Gustavo Ayon, C12/9/2013 10:33:00 AM
Description: Hawks PF/C Gustavo Ayon is questionable for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City due to a sprained left ankle/bruised leg.
Insight: Ayon (4.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg) appearance or lack of it won't change any fantasy lineups.
Paul Millsap, F12/4/2013 10:14:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap filled the box score with 25 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three blocks, one steal and one 3-pointer Wednesday against the Clippers.
Insight: Millsap has been extremely streaky thoughout his career but it's important not to overreact to either extreme. He's averaging 16.2 points, 7.4 boards, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks this season and should continue to produce something close to those numbers in the long run.
Kyle Korver, G12/4/2013 10:11:00 PM
Description: Atlanta G/F Kyle Korver (rib) picked up where he left off before his injury with 23 points, five assists, three rebounds and six triples Wednesday against the Clippers.

Description: Atlanta G/F Kyle Korver expects to play Wednesday against the Clippers. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Lou Williams, SG12/2/2013 1:36:00 PM
Description: Atlanta shooting guard Lou Williams is probable for Monday's game against San Antonio.
Insight: Williams missed the last game because he doesn't play in back-to-back contests while recovering from a knee injury. He's not playing at a fantasy-worthy level yet, but he's still kicking off the rust from a year layoff.
Kyle Korver, G12/2/2013 1:32:00 PM
Description: Hawks G/F Kyle Korver will miss Monday's game against San Antonio, according to Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News.

Paul Millsap, F11/30/2013 9:26:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap took a season-high five threes and made four of them Saturday against the Wizards. He finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal.

Jeff Teague, PGHot11/30/2013 8:24:00 PM
Description: Hawks PG Jeff Teague suffered a rib injury in the first half Saturday night but started the second half.
Insight: Teague suffered the injury when he drew contact on a layup attempt in the second quarter.
Kyle Korver, G11/30/2013 1:24:00 PM
Description: Hawks G/F Kyle Korver won't be available Saturday against Washington. SOURCE: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: It's the third game he's missed with a bruised rib. Lou Williams has been starting in Korver's place and should become a solid fantasy option once he shakes off some of the rust. He missed ten months with a torn ACL.
Lou Williams, SG11/29/2013 6:43:00 PM
Description: Atlanta shooting guard Lou Williams will get the start Friday against the Mavericks. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: However, he will be on a minutes limit. Williams hasn't played a back-to-back since his knee surgery so we wouldn't expect to see him Saturday against Washington.
Dennis Schroeder, G11/29/2013 11:17:00 AM
Description: With the Hawks short-handed, guard Dennis Schroeder saw 27 minutes on Wednesday.
Insight: It was the most playing time he's seen all season. He managed six points, five assists and two steals. Kyle Korver, Lou Williams and Shelvin Mack are all questionable for Friday against Dallas.

Lou Williams, SG11/22/2013 10:28:00 AM
Description: Hawks guard Lou Williams (knee) will miss Friday's game against Detroit.
Insight: Williams will be in and out of the lineup as he tries to return after tearing his ACL last January. He's only been playing around 15 minutes so far so that's not enough to make him fantasy owrthy and has yet to hurt other Hawks totals. That will change when he is 100 percent.
DeMarre Carroll, SF11/20/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: Hawks small forward DeMarre Carroll had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds Wednesday against Detroit. Carroll chipped in with three assists, two steals, two blocks and one three in the win.
Insight: Carroll has started all 12 games for Atlanta this season after coming in with 22 career starts in four NBA seasons. He's averaging 9.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 threes per game.
Paul Millsap, F11/20/2013 6:35:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap (elbow tendinitis) will play Wednesday after missing Tuesday's game, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Millsap has averaged 15.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.7 steals per game this season but has been playing through soreness in his elbow for a couple of weeks and finally needed to take a game off Tuesday.
Mike Scott, F11/19/2013 11:02:00 PM
Description: Atlanta power forward Mike Scott had 15 points, 10 rebounds, one steal and one three in 28 minutes off the bench Tuesday against the Heat.
Insight: Gustavo Ayon started in place of Paul Millsap (elbow tendinitis) but played just 22 minutes and had four points and six rebounds. Scott would be the better pickup if Millsap has to miss an extended period of time.
Paul Millsap, F11/19/2013 5:52:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap will miss Tuesday's game at Miami due to right elbow tendinitis, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Paul Millsap, F11/16/2013 9:54:00 PM
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap came off the bench Friday against the 76ers but he rejoined the starting lineup Saturday at New York and had 14 points, 13 rebounds and two steals.
Insight: Millsap snapped a string of three straight single-digit scoring efforts Saturday. He's putting up his usual solid numbers across the board in his first season with the Hawks.
Lou Williams, SG11/16/2013 6:43:00 PM
Description: Hawks guard Lou Williams (knee) will miss Saturday's game.
Insight: Williams returned to action Friday after tearing his ACL last January. He had seven points in 16 minutes of action, but the team is not ready to let him play a back-to-back yet.
Jeff Teague, PGHot11/15/2013 10:02:00 PM

Lou Williams, SG11/15/2013 1:09:00 PM
Description: Hawks guard Lou Williams has been activated for Friday's game against the Sixers, according to Chris Vivlamore, beat writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Lou Williams, SG11/13/2013 1:07:00 PM
Description: Hawks guard Lou Williams has been cleared for full-contact practice. SOURCE: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: Williams did some contact drills Tuesday for the first time since suffering a torn ACL on Jan. 18, and he's ready to take the next step. He should be back in a few weeks if he doesn't experience any swelling in his knee after ramping up activity.
Lou Williams, SG11/12/2013 7:36:00 PM
Description: Hawks guard Lou Williams participated in some contact drills Tuesday for the first time since suffering a torn ACL in his right knee on Jan. 18. SOURCE: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: The next step for Williams will be getting cleared for full five-on-five contact drills. "He's getting closer," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. He could need a month to work on his conditioning after returning to full contact practice.
Gustavo Ayon, C11/11/2013 11:21:00 AM
Description: Hawks PF/C Gustavo Ayon is probable for Monday's game against Charlotte due to a shoulder inflammation and a strained rotator cuff.
Insight: Ayon (3.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg in 2012-13) has yet to play this season, but his appearance shouldn't change any fantasy decisions.
Jeff Teague, PG11/10/2013 10:54:00 AM
Description: Jeff Teague's shot wasn't falling Saturday against Orlando (just 6-of-15 from the field) but that didn't stop the Hawks point guard from putting up 19 points in 40 minutes of action.
Insight: Teague also distributed 13 assists in Atlanta's 104-94 win. Through his first six games, the 25-year-old is averaging nearly a double-double (17.7 ppg, 9.8 apg).
Paul Millsap, FHot11/9/2013 12:44:00 PM

Al Horford, C11/6/2013 9:46:00 AM
Description: Al Horford's dominance continued Tuesday against Sacramento.

Al Horford, C11/1/2013 9:59:00 PM
Description: Hawks big man Al Horford torched the Raptors Friday in a 102-95 Atlanta victory.
Insight: He finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds in 35 minutes of action. As long as he stays healthy, Horford should be a top-20 fantasy player in 2013-14.
DeMarre Carroll, SF10/30/2013 11:12:00 PM
Description: DeMarre Carroll, the Hawks starting small forward, hit two threes and had 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals over 35 minutes Wednesday against the Mavericks.
Insight: Carroll has played a reserve role with four different franchises since entering the NBA out of Missouri in 2009. He averaged 6.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.3 threes in just 17 minutes per game with the Jazz last season. Now that he's starting, Carroll could be a nice late-round find for deep-league fantasy owners looking for a backup small forward. The Hawks don't have much of a bench, so he'll see plenty of minutes.
Jeff Teague, PG10/30/2013 11:10:00 PM
Description: Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting (1-4 3PT, 9-12 FT) with nine assists and four steals Wednesday at Dallas.
Insight: With Josh Smith gone, the Hawks need Teague to take on a larger role offensively. He should be a good source of points, assists and steals while shooting an impressive percentage from the foul line.
Paul Millsap, F10/30/2013 11:08:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Paul Millsap (Achilles) played 36 minutes Wednesday in his first game with Atlanta and scored 20 points with five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Insight: Millsap only played 30 minutes per game last season and averaged 14.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.3 steals. He'll undoubtedly receive more minutes in Atlanta, so expect an increase in his numbers across the board.
Paul Millsap, F10/29/2013 5:47:00 PM
Description: According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Hawks forward Paul Millsap (Achilles) confirmed that he'll play Wednesday in the season opener against the Mavericks.
Insight: Millsap missed the final two preseason games with an Achilles injury. The Hawks don't have much depth at power forward, so Millsap should see more than the 30.4 minutes per game he averaged last season with the Jazz.

Description: Atlanta center Al Horford, who missed Wednesday's preseason finale with a strained right hamstring, practiced in full on Friday.

The center had a career year in 2012-13, setting career highs with 17.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals and recording 3.2 assists and 1.1 blocks. Paul Millsap, F10/25/2013 4:12:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Paul Millsap (Achilles) is questionable for Wednesday's season opener.

Description: Forward Elton Brand has agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with the Hawks. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: Brand will be depth for Atlanta behind center Al Horford and power forward Paul Millsap. He's only a shadow of the guy who averaged 20-10 in Chicago and Los Angeles, but he'll get his minutes in Atlanta with Zaza Pachula gone. Pencil him in for about eight points and six rebounds a night off the bench.

Description: Devin Harris' toe injury will keep him out for about 2-to-3 months. SOURCE: Dallas Morning News
Insight: He's dealing with a dislocated toe. Teams are probably going to want to wait and see how Harris' toe responds to treatment before offering him a contract. Harris had a deal in place to join the Mavericks but they canceled it at the last minute when they found out about his injury.

Description: According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, the Hawks will not do a sign-and-trade for Monta Ellis or Brandon Jennings in exchange for Jeff Teague.
