Description: Phillies center fielder Ben Revere has picked up three hits in two of the last three games.
Insight: Revere is hitting .260 after going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs Tuesday against the Marlins. The outfielder's strikeout rate is up, and his line-drive rate is way down from last season, when he batted .294.
Description: Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is dealing with right leg soreness and will DH Tuesday, according to Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com.
Insight: Jones began feeling sore at the end of Monday's game, and manager Buck Showalter said he didn't like the look of it. He'll keep Jones out of the field Tuesday to keep him fresh.
Description: Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp is getting a rest Tuesday against the Rangers, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: Crisp will miss facing Yu Darvish, who he has gone 3-for-6 with four RBI against. The outfielder returned from a strained hamstring on May 15.
Description: Pirates outfielder Starling Marte is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. No injury that we know of, just a rest day.
Insight: Marte has been a solid option in fantasy baseball this season, hitting .305 with five homers, 17 RBI, 10 steals and 33 runs. Jose Tabata will get the start and it's no coincidence that he's 5-for-7 against tonight's starter Matt Garza.
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen, who had been scratched from the lineup Sunday due to right knee soreness, is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game with the Cubs.
Insight: The outfielder is hitting .281 with six homers, 23 RBI, 31 runs and nine steals this season and is 7-for-14 over his last three games. Make sure he's back in your lineup.
Description: Padres outfielder Cameron Maybin (wrist) was in the batting cage before Monday's game and should head out on a rehab assignment by the end of the week.
Insight: Maybin, who was batting just .091 in 33 at-bats before the injury, can add speed to a fantasy roster. He has stolen 66 bases over the past two season. The rehab assignment should last a week to 10 days.
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen, who has been scratched from the lineup Sunday due to right knee soreness, is probable for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
Insight: The outfielder is hitting .281 with six homers, 23 RBI, 31 runs and nine steals this season and is 7-for-14 over his last three games. Make sure he's back in your lineup.
Description: Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp is 3-for-6 with a triple and a home run against Texas ace Yu Darvish.
Insight: The speedy outfielder is batting .274 with five homers, 15 RBI, nine stolen bases and leads the league in times his helmet falls off while on the base path. Make sure he's in your lineup despite facing a tough right-hander.
Description: Indians center fielder Michael Bourn is just a .091 hitter (1-for-11) versus Detroit right-hander Max Scherzer with four strikeouts.
Insight: After missing nearly a month because of a cut finger Bourn has begun to hit again (.368 over the last five games), but this matchup isn't likely to help.
Description: Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson is 0-for-6 against Baltimore starter Miguel Gonzalez with three strikouts.
Insight: Granderson is 4-for-19 since returning to the lineup after breaking his arm in spring training, including 0-for-8 in his last two games. This is not a favorable matchup.
Description: San Francisco center fielder Angel Pagan is a career .500 hitter in 10 at-bats versus Washington starter Zach Duke.
Insight: Pagan left Sunday's game with flu-like symptoms, so it's not known whether he'll be healthy enough to go on Monday. Andres Torres (.224, 1 HR, 4 RBI) would likely take his place in the outfield, but he's 1-for-7 against Duke.
Description: Rockies center fielder Dexter Fowler is 5-for-8 versus Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin.
Insight: Fowler must be one of the few guys hitting Corbin who is 6-0 with a 1.52 ERA. Fowler has become a solid fantasy option with a .286 batting average, eight homers, 16 RBI, 29 runs and six stolen bases. He went 10-for-20 against the Giants this weekend.
Description: Milwaukee outfielder Carlos Gomez is 4-for-7 in his matchups against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.
Insight: Gomez was just 1-for-11 in the series just completed against the Cardinals, but is still batting .336 this season with a stunning .946 OPS. Those numbers are well above his career level.
Description: Cubs outfielder Marlon Byrd is 6-for-11 against Reds starter Johnny Cueto with a 1.220 OPS.
Insight: Byrd was brutal last season for the Cubs and Red Sox (.210, 1 HR, 9 RBI), and at best is a mediocre option, but this matchup might be worth taking a shot. he's batting .267 this season with three home runs and 16 RBI in 101 at-bats.
Description: Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson has twice as many strikeouts as hits in his career matchups with Orioles starter Freddy Garcia (12 vs. six hits) and a less than desired .171 batting average.
Insight: Granderson is 4-for-15 since returning to the lineup for the first time after breaking his arm in spring training. This is not a favorable matchup.
Description: Rockies center fielder Dexter Fowler mashed four hits Sunday in a win over San Francisco.
Insight: Fowler went 10-for-20 in the series with two RBI. That's the good news. The bad news is that Fowler (.286, 8 HR, 18 RBI) has struck out at least once in each of his last ten games and he hasn't homered since April 29th. At least he's finally beginning to steal some bases (two thefts in his last four games).
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen has been scratched from the lineup Sunday due to right knee soreness, according to Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Insight: We should have an update on the severity of the injury later today. The outfielder is hitting .281 with six homers, 23 RBI, 31 runs and nine steals this season and is 7-for-14 over his last three games.
Description: Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is hitting .318 with six homers, 29 RBI, 31 runs and five steals this season, and he has performed well against Sunday's starter Matt Moore of the Rays.
Insight: Jones has struggled against lefties, hitting .227 in 44 at-bats, but he has handled Moore well in his career.
Description: Orioles outfielder Adam Jones drove in three runs as part of a 2-for-4 game Saturday against the Rays.
Insight: One of his hits was a homer, his sixth of the year. Jones is batting .318 with 31 runs and 29 RBI in 42 games. He had a similar start last year before fading in the middle months of the season. We'll see if he can sustain it this time around.
Description: Oakland center fielder Chris Young (quad) has been activated from the DL.
Insight: Young was expected to return before Coco Crisp, but his comeback was delayed by a setback. Josh Reddick is still out, so Young will serve as the starter in right field.
Description: Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson has struck out in 11 of 19 at-bats versus Toronto starter Brandon Morrow with just two hits.
Insight: Granderson is 4-for-11 since returning to the lineup for the first time since breaking his arm in spring training. This is not a favorable matchup.
Description: Royals center fielder Jarrod Dyson will miss the next 2-to-4 weeks with a sprained ankle. SOURCE: Bob Dutton, Kansas City Star
Insight: Dyson (.268, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 6 SB) could be a solid fantasy contributor if he played every day but that hasn't happened this season (41 at bats in 18 games). With Lorenzo Cain (.323, 1 HR, 22 RBI) occupying center field, it's going to be tough for Dyson to see regular at bats.
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen is 8-for-13 (.615) against Houston hurler Jordan Lyles.
Insight: McCutchen has struggled this week, but facing the Houston pitching staff should fix that problem. Historically, May is McCutchen's most productive month of the season (career .315 batting average, .930 OPS).
Description: Toronto outfielder Colby Rasmus should be taken out of fantasy lineups based on his 3-for-24 (.125) history versus Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda.
Insight: Rasmus continues to swing and miss at a stunning rate (57 times in 126 at-bats) and would probably be sitting a lot more often if Rajai Davis were healthy. He should not be in fantasy lineups.
Description: Milwaukee outfielder Carlos Gomez has faced former teammate Francisco Liriano just eight times, but he has gone 5-for-8 with a double, two homers and two walks against the left-hander.
Insight: Gomez and Liriano played together for a few years on the Minnesota Twins. Gomez is having a career year, batting .365 and hitting a career-high 20.2 percent line drives. His .431 BABIP is unsustainable, but he should hit Liriano Thursday.
Description: Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain went 2-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI, two runs and a stolen base Wednesday against the Angels.
Insight: Cain's line-drive rate is good, but not spectacular (21.8 percent), so he has been extremely lucky to have a .390 BABIP. He's still a solid fantasy option, but sell high if you can.
Description: Angels outfielder Mike Trout has homered in two straight games and three of his last five.
Insight: Trout has turned it on over his last 15 games, batting .368 with six homers, 17 RBI, three steals, 13 runs and an 8/7 K/BB. His overall numbers are still a bit disappointing, but the buy-low window is closing quickly.
Description: Mets outfielder Rick Ankiel hit his first homer with the team Wednesday as part of a 2-for-4 game against the Cardinals, the team he played for from 1999 to 2009.
Insight: Ankiel has struck out an absurd 37 times in 74 plate appearances, but he has hit six homers and three doubles and has an ISO of .300, which would rank fifth in baseball if he had enough plate appearances. He could play himself into regular at-bats with the Mets, as the team's outfield is one of the worst in all of baseball.
Description: Tigers outfielder Avisail Garcia hit a three-run homer Wednesday against Houston.
Insight: Garcia was just recalled when Austin Jackson was placed on the DL. The 21-year-old started in right field in the playoffs last year and went 6-for-23 with four RBI. He's ranked as the Tigers' No. 3 prospect on MLB.com.
Description: Mariners center fielder Franklin Gutierrez (hamstring) could go out on a rehab assignment Thursday or Friday, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com.
Insight: Gutierrez suffered a strained hamstring on April 22. He was hitting .259 with four homers prior to his injury.
Description: Toronto outfielder Melky Cabrera's MRI revealed irritation in his right quad and left hamstring, but he can play through it, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca.
Insight: Cabrera went 4-for-5 at the plate Tuesday, so it can't be bothering him too much. He'll be able to play if he can tolerate the pain.
Description: Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp has been activated from the DL on Wednesday.
Insight: Crisp did some running on Monday and he said his hamstring felt great. The speedy outfielder is certainly worth an add if you find him on the waiver wire this week. The 33-year-old was batting .283 with five homers, 12 RBI and eight stolen bases in 24 games prior to going down with a left hamstring injury.
Description: Indians center fielder Michael Bourn is not in Wednesday afternoon's lineup against the Phillies.
Insight: Bourn missed nearly a month because of a cut finger and is 3-for-18 since returning. He's hit Phillies starter Cole Hamels at a .296 clip, so this is likely just a day off for rest.
Description: Toronto outfielder Melky Cabrera is headed for an MRI on his tight hamstring Wednesday, but he started as the DH Tuesday and went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs against the Giants.
Insight: Cabrera, of course, hit .346 in 459 at-bats for the Giants last season before being suspended 50 games for testosterone use. He raised his average to .278 Tuesday, but he has just nine extra-base hits in 162 at-bats.
Description: Oakland center fielder Chris Young will be back with the team Wednesday but likely won't be activated until Friday, according to Jane Lee of MLB.com.
Insight: Young has been on the DL with a quad injury. With Coco Crisp and Josh Reddick both also on the disabled list, Young will return to a starting spot in the lineup.
Description: Braves center fielder B.J. Upton is not in the starting lineup Tuesday due to a bruised left shoulder. SOURCE: David O'Brien, Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Upton was hit in the left shoulder by a pitch Monday and had to leave the game. However, his shoulder was not as sore Tuesday as he anticipated and he should be back in the lineup Wednesday.
Description: Mariners outfielder Michael Saunders is just 1-for-11 (.091) versus Yankees left-hander C.C. Sabathia.
Insight: Saunders has played solidly when on the field (as per his past history he's already spent time on the DL). He's batting .286 with four homers, 11 RBI and 17 runs scored in 20 games. This matchup, however, is not favorable.
Description: Braves center fielder B.J. Upton left Monday night's game with Arizona after being hit with a pitch by starter Wade Miley.
Insight: The injury appears to be a left shoulder contusion. While brother Justin Upton has been a fantasy stud this season, B.J. has struggled batting .153 heading into tonight's action. Jordan Schafer will likely get Upton's at-bats until he is ready to return and could end up sharing time in center.
Description: It's looking more and more like Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp will be activated from the DL on Wednesday. SOURCE: Jane Lee, MLB.com
Insight: Crisp did some running on Monday and he said his hamstring felt great. The speedy outfielder is certainly worth an add if you find him on the waiver wire this week.
Description: Oakland center fielder Chris Young was expected to be activated from the DL Wednesday against Texas but now that doesn't appear likely. SOURCE: Jane Lee, MLB.com
Insight: He's still dealing with some soreness in his left quad. Yoenis Cespedes (.206, 6 HR, 18 RBI) will get the start in center Monday in the series opener.
Description: Outfielder Rick Ankiel has been signed by the New York Mets and could start in center field on Monday night, according to ESPN's Adam Rubin.
Insight: Ankiel batted .194 in 25 games for the Astros before they gave up on him. He's hit as many as 25 home runs in a season, but fantasy owners should stay away as he's likely to be in a platoon situation ... at best.
Description: Tigers outfielder Austin Jackson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
Insight: Jackson started the season and despite a recent slump was still batting .272 with 33 runs scored and five stolen bases. Detroit recalled outfielder Avisail Garcia from Triple-A Toledo where he was batting .432 in eight games.
Description: Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson (forearm) could return to the team as early as Tuesday.
Insight: Granderson has been on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and is batting .412 over 17 at-bats. He's a must start as soon as he is activated. He hit 43 homers last season and 41 the year before.
Description: Angels center fielder Peter Bourjos' latest timetable for return from his hamstring injury is the end of May or beginning of June.
Insight: When to return is always a tough question for a speed guy like Bourjos because it's very easy to re-injury himself. Unfortunately, the struggling Angels need him in the lineup. He was batting .313 with six extra base hits and an .827 OPS over his first 22 games.
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen is 7-for-19 (.368) with a pair of home runs against Milwaukee starter Marco Estrada.
Insight: Historically, May is McCutchen's most productive month of the season (career .322 batting average, .946 OPS) and he's started off well in May 2013 as well. This matchup should help those totals. Good or bad matchup, you aren't going to take McCutchen out of your lineup because he does so many things for your fantasy team.
Description: Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp (hamstring) is expected to test his leg on Monday and could be activated on Wednesday without a rehab assignment, according to San Francisco Chronicle beat writer Susan Slusser.
Insight: Crisp (.283, 24 runs, 5 HR, 12 RBI in 24 games) has been on the disabled list since April 30 with a strained left hamstring, but he was a huge factor in getting the A's offense off to a fast start this season.
Description: Center fielder Rajai Davis has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique..
Insight: Davis (.291, 13 runs, 8 SB) is expected to miss between two and three weeks. he was just starting to find his batting stroke, going 4-for-9 in the series against Tampa Bay.
Description: Colorado center fielder Dexter Fowler is 1-for-10 with four strikeouts against Cardinals right-hander Adam Wainwright.
Insight: The outfielder is having another excellent season at the plate (.272, 8 HR, 15 RBI, 22 runs, .925 OPS), but struggles against Wainwright. Avoid.
Description: A's outfielder Chris Young (quad) is expected to go on a rehab assignment at some point over the next three days, according to John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group.
Insight: With Coco Crisp (hamstring) also on the DL, Young's injury prevented him from being the everyday center fielder. He's likely to return ahead of Crisp, but Crisp won't be too far behind.
Description: Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp (hamstring) doesn't have a timetable for a return, but he might be able to start running over the next few days, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: Crisp has been on the disabled list since April 30 with a strained left hamstring and is unlikely to return when he is eligible.
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen is just 2-for-14 (.143) against Mets starter Shaun Marcum.
Insight: Good or bad matchup, you aren't going to take McCutchen out of your lineup because he does so many things for your fantasy team. Just don't expect much on Friday.
Description: Giants outfielder Angel Pagan (groin) is back in the lineup Thursday, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: An MRI Wednesday revealed that he is dealing with an abductor strain in his groin, not a hamstring injury as he initially thought, but the injury appears minor nevertheless.
Description: The Indians have officially activated center fielder Michael Bourn from the disabled list.
Insight: Bourn missed nearly a month because of a cut finger. He went 1-for-7 with a stolen base during a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus.
Description: White Sox center fielder Alejandro De Aza went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a steal and two runs scored Wednesday against the Mets.
Insight: It's a nice all-around effort from De Aza, who has six homers in his first 126 at-bats after hitting nine in 524 last season. However, De Aza's 30.1 percent strikeout rate limits will hold his batting average down.
Description: Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson (forearm) will join Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre for his minor league rehab assignment Thursday, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Insight: Granderson has been rehabbing from the fractured forearm he suffered when he was hit by a pitch on Feb. 24. Manager Joe Girardi said on April 30 that Granderson will need 50 rehab at-bats before he's ready to return.
Description: Giants outfielder Angel Pagan, who returned from a hamstring injury Tuesday, is not in Wednesday's lineup. He went hitless on Tuesday.
Insight: Pagan missed the last couple of games with a bum hamstring, but it was never a serious concern. He is hitting .268 this year with one homer and 14 RBI.
Description: Toronto outfielder Colby Rasmus is hitless in seven career at-bats versus Tampa Bay starter Matt Moore, including three strikeouts.
Insight: Rasmus has whiffed 47 times in 105 at-bats and is batting .248. Six homers and 14 RBI don't really offset his shortcomings, particularly in this unfavorable matchup. Rajai Davis is 4-for-10 against Moore with four stolen bases and may get the starting nod in center field Wednesday night.
Description: Toronto outfielder Melky Cabrera picked up three hits, including two doubles, and one RBI in five at-bats Tuesday against the Rays.
Insight: Cabrera had just four extra-base hits in 33 games prior to Tuesday. He's yet to prove that his past two seasons weren't the results of being chemically enhanced.
Description: Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen went 4-for-4 with a double, a run and a steal Tuesday against the Mariners.
Insight: McCutchen played a bit over his head with a .327 average last season, as he needed a .375 BABIP to accomplish that. He came into Tuesday's game with an identical line-drive percentage to last season but with a .258 BABIP and a .250 batting average. The good news is that he has trimmed his strikeout percentage from 19.6 percent to 12.6 percent and is hitting .276 after Tuesday's game.
Description: Giants outfielder Angel Pagan (hamstring) is back in the lineup Tuesday.
Insight: He's missed the last couple of games with a bum hamstring, but it was never a serious concern. Pagan is hitting .275 this year with one homer and 13 RBI.
Description: Houston center fielder Justin Maxwell (hand) could begin light work with a bat in 7-10 days, according to Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle.
Insight: Maxwell suffered a broken left hand in the last week of April, but he is progressing well.
Description: Center fielder Rajai Davis is a career .467 hitter (7-for-15) against Tampa Bay right-hander Roberto Hernandez.
Insight: Davis (.271, 11 runs, 6 SB) is seeing plenty of at-bats these days with Jose Bautista missing some time due to his back and Melky Cabrera not hitting up to expectations. This matchup is worth putting him in fantasy lineups.
