Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Alfredsson will not dress in Game 3 of the Red Wings' Eastern Conference quarterfinal against the Boston Bruins due to a balky back which needs rest.
The 41-year-old Swede has been silent thus far in the series, held without a shot on goal or a single point in the first two contests.
Joakim Andersson will draw in for Detroit, which heads to Joe Louis Arena with the series tied at one win apiece. Andersson participated in 14 playoff games last season, recording one goal and four assists.
