Arlington, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Joel Rechlicz to a one-year, two-way contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Rechlicz played the 2012-13 season with Hershey and Portland of the American Hockey League and amassed 154 penalty minutes in 40 games. He appeared in three games for the Capitals during the 2011-12 season and recorded 10 penalty minutes.
The 26-year-old Wisconsin native has played 26 NHL games for Washington and the New York Islanders, collecting one assist and 105 penalty minutes.
