Description: Bears' backup QB Jason Campbell has been horrible as a replacement for starter Jay Cutler. It was never more evident as when compared to San Francisco 49ers' backup Colin Kaepernick on Monday night.
Insight: One look at Campbell's performance as Cutler's replacement shows how much the Bears need their starter back. So do fantasy owners of Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte.

11/16/2012 1:33:00 PM
Description: With Bears QB Jay Cutler declared out for Week 11, Jason Campbell will get the start.
Insight: Cutler left Sunday night's game against Houston at the half after being diagnosed with a concussion. Jason Campbell took over and did not play well under wet conditions against a tough Texans' defense, going 11-for-19 for 94 yards. Things won't get easier for Campbell against the 49ers and his fantasy value is low.

3/14/2012 3:33:00 PM
Description: Jason Campbell has signed a one-year-deal with the Chicago Bears.
Insight: Cutler is still the starter in Chicago so Campbell's fantasy value is pretty limited unless Cutler gets hurt. Even if that happens, don't expect Campbell to stuff the stat sheet for you. He's only thrown for more than 15 touchdowns in a season once in his career.

Description: New Raiders head coach Hue Jackson said Thursday he feels good about heading into next season with Campbell as his starting quarterback.
Insight: ?Jason Campbell, in my opinion, did a tremendous job last year," Jackson said, according to SportingNews.com. Jackson spent last year as Oakland's offensive coordinator, so it's not as if he simply came to this realization after a couple of weeks of tape work. Campbell has shown impressive flashes throughout his career but has struggled with inconsistency while also dealing with many system changes. Even if he improves for the Raiders next year, he'll come with a fairly low fantasy ceiling overall. (RapidDraft.com)

Insight: "No question," Jackson told a Fresno radio station per the Oakland Tribune. "I mean, there's no question he is. The guy won some very important games. The guy played hurt. The guy got to know his teammates, rallied his team, and finished very strong. He helped us win, obviously, every game in our division, there's no question he is definitely the unquestioned starter on this football team at this point."

1/2/2011 3:30:00 PM
Description: Surprisingly, Raiders QB Jason Campbell and TE Zach Miller are back IN their Week 17 game vs. Kansas City.
Insight: This is amazing considering it looked as if both guys were done for the day. In fact, we reported earlier it looked really serious for Miller. Somehow, both have shaken off their injuries and are back on the field.

1/2/2011 2:23:00 PM
Description: Raiders QB Jason Campbell suffered some sort of a knee injury in the first quarter (Week 17) against the Chiefs and forced to come out of the game.
Insight: Campbell scrambled on a third down like he often does, but was crushed by Chiefs DL Tamba Hali. Trainers are still working on him and it's questionable as to whether or not he'll return.

12/16/2010 3:05:00 PM
Description: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Jason Campbell has had three shoulder stingers this season, including two in the last two games.
Insight: Campbell hasn't missed but a few snaps in week 14 and Coach Tom Cable is confident his QB won't have any lingering effects sustained through the remainder of the season. Campbell is coming off one of his best performances of the season, but seems to be one hit away from being sidelined. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Raiders QB Jason Campbell has had to deal with two shoulder stingers in the last two games and has suffered three overall this season. SOURCE: SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE
Insight: Tom Cable said Campbell has had "no lingering effects" from them, but there are only so many times Campbell can get hit before it becomes serious. Campbell is coming off a solid performance against the Jaguars last week, but we still don't recommend him as a starting option.

12/13/2010 11:03:00 AM
Description: Campbell threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. He also did not turn the ball over at all.
Insight: Four of his past six games have been turnover-free, and Campbell has only thrown more than one pick in a game once this year. He won't be a strong fantasy option anytime soon, but reaching owners could do worse. (RapidDraft.com)

11/22/2010 11:37:00 AM
Description: Despite being pulled for QB Bruce Gradkowski against the Steelers, the Raiders will roll with QB Jason Campbell this upcoming weekend against the Dolphins. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: Campbell threw for 70 yards and a pick, but Gradkowski wasn't much better after throwing for 98 yards and a pick. Owners in deeper leagues should keep tabs on Gradkowski. If Campbell puts up another stinker against Miami, Gradkowski could prove to be a worthwhile stash with a very cushy fantasy playoff schedule ahead.

11/21/2010 4:59:00 PM
Description: The Raiders ended up benching QB Jason Campbell for QB Bruce Gradkowski against the Steelers.
Insight: Campbell finished with 70 yards and an interception, but Gradkowski didn't look much better, throwing an interception of his own. Tom Cable has some thinking to do as to who will be his starter in Week Twelve.

11/15/2010 7:01:00 PM
Description: Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune reports, via Twitter, that Raiders head coach Tom Cable officially named QB Jason Campbell the week 11 starter against Pittsburgh.
Insight: The move comes as no surprise, as Campbell has won four of his last five games as starter. Expect Cable to ride Campbell's "hot hand" until further notice. (RapidDraft.com)

11/10/2010 9:04:00 PM
Description: The Contra Costa Times reports that Oakland owner Al Davis insisted on QB Jason Campbell to remain the starter.
Insight: This should be no surprise to anyone. Coach Tom Cable stated several times that once healthy, Bruce Gradkowski would resume starting duties. Just this week, Cable publicly declared he would be riding Campbell's "hot hand". Davis went out and got Campbell in the offseason to throw the long ball, and it looks like he'll get that chance. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: It's being reported that Raiders owner Al Davis insisted to HC Tom Cable that QB Jason Campbell remains the starting quarterback after the team's bye week. SOURCE: CONTRA COSTA TIMES
Insight: Cable had previously commented that Bruce Gradkowski is the starter when healthy. But for once, we agree with Al. Campbell has looked good the last three games with a depleted receiving unit. No reason to rock the boat until Campbell comes back down to Earth.

11/9/2010 3:05:00 PM
Description: Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Oakland coach Tom Cable is leaning towards riding Jason Campbell's "hot hand" at quarterback.
Insight: This is obviously different than what Cable has been publicly saying for weeks now, but with Campbell's 5:1 TD-to-INT ratio, it would be hard to bench him. Campbell has performed exceptionally well with a decimated receiving corps, so we expect him to start for the time being. (RapidDraft.com)

11/9/2010 11:51:00 AM
Description: According to Raiders HC Tom Cable, the team is leaning towards riding QB Jason Campbell's "hot hand" as the starter after the team's bye this weekend. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: It's hard to argue, considering Campbell's three-game win streak and having won those games with an injured receiving corps (Murphy/Miller). Bruce Gradkowski's shoulder is expected to be 100 percent by Week Eleven, but it looks like he will be Campbell's backup against the Steelers. Campbell faces a tough test in two weeks.

11/5/2010 4:00:00 PM
Description: Coach Tom Cable has made QB Jason Campbell the starter against Kansas City in week 9.
Insight: Gradkowski is still limited in his throwing and Campbell has been taking all the first-team reps in practice this week, so this was a no-brainer on Cable's behalf. Unfortunately, he's working with a decimated receiving corps, so he doesn't appear to be a strong choice in many fantasy leagues. (RapidDraft.com)

10/31/2010 10:02:00 AM
Description: ESPN reported that Campbell will get the start again this week as Bruce Gradkowski works his way back from a shoulder injury.
Insight: Campbell has a strong matchup this week against a soft Seattle pass defense, but he doesn't have enough at receiver to be an attractive fantasy option. (RapidDraft.com)

10/24/2010 3:04:00 PM
Description: Raiders QB Jason Campbell is active and will start against the Broncos.
Insight: We expected this. Downgrade Oakland's skill players this week.
