Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dolphins and suspended guard Richie Incognito agreed to postpone his grievance hearing until the NFL investigation of Miami's locker room is complete.
Incognito's hearing was supposed to take place Thursday.
"The Miami Dolphins and Richie Incognito have agreed to postpone his grievance hearing during his ongoing suspension. Richie is cooperating fully with the NFL investigation and will meet with Ted Wells," the Dolphins said in a statement.
Incognito, who filed a non-football injury grievance against the Dolphins last Thursday, also released a statement on the matter.
"I have agreed to postpone my expedited arbitration hearing until after the investigation by Ted Wells is complete," Incognito said. "I will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation with a goal of resuming my career with the Miami Dolphins at the conclusion of this investigation. I love my teammates and hope we can put this distraction behind us soon."
Incognito was suspended on Nov. 3 following allegations of harassment and misconduct toward teammate Jonathan Martin, who left the team prior to its Week 9 win over Cincinnati.
The 30-year-old Incognito is accused of using a racial slur against Martin and threatening violence against him and his mother in a voicemail Martin turned over to the NFL.
Incognito has denied bullying Martin but said he may have been too harsh on his younger teammate and regrets using racist language.
Under Article 43 of the CBA, the maximum a club is allowed to suspend a player for conduct detrimental is four weeks plus an additional game check. Incognito is eligible to return on Dec. 8 against Pittsburgh.
