Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - Two days after being cut loose by the Chicago Bears, J'Marcus Webb has found a new home within the same division.
The veteran offensive tackle was claimed off waivers by Minnesota on Sunday as the Vikings altered their 53-man roster.
Webb was a 44-game starter for Chicago over the last three seasons and entered training camp as the favorite to be the team's regular right tackle. However, the fourth-year pro struggled in the preseason and was beaten out by rookie Jordan Mills for the starting job, then released by the Bears on Friday.
With the Vikings, Webb is expected to serve as a swing tackle behind starters Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt.
To clear a roster spot for Webb, Minnesota released offensive lineman Troy Kropog.
