Atlanta Hawks (26-30) at Boston Celtics (19-39), 7:30 p.m.
(SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Celtics hope familiar territory will get them
back in the win column when they open a five-game homestand Wednesday versus
the Atlanta Hawks at TD Garden.
The Celtics lost all four games on their recent western junket and are winless
in the previous five games overall. In Monday's 110-98 setback to the Utah
Jazz, Jeff Green and rookie Kelly Olynyk scored 21 points apiece and Rajon
Rondo added 18 and 10 assists.
"I thought Kelly (Olynyk) played really well tonight. But one of our issues
has just been you try to find the hot hand instead of every night knowing
where it's coming from," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said.
Jerryd Bayless was the only other Celtic player to record double-figures in
points, finishing with 13.
Boston shot 44 percent and the Jazz made 55 percent of their shots.
Celtics forward Jared Sullinger (mild concussion) is questionable versus the
Hawks and has missed two straight games. He is averaging 13.1 points and 8.3
rebounds this season.
Boston is 11-17 at home and will also welcome Indiana, Golden State, Brooklyn
and Detroit to Beantown on the stay.
The Hawks ended an eight-game losing streak with a win versus New York on
Saturday, then dropped a 107-103 decision to the Chicago Bulls Tuesday night.
Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich sealed the win at the foul line after the Hawks took
a 103-101 lead on a DeMarre Carroll 3-pointer.
Jeff Teague led Atlanta with 26 points, Shelvin Mack added 17 and Kyle Korver
made 4-of-9 3-pointers to post 16 points. Carroll ended with 13 points and
both Mike Scott and Lou Williams netted 12 for the Hawks.
Teague stepped out along the baseline under the Chicago net with about 15
"It was one of those games that came down to the final minute and they got the
calls and we didn't," Carroll said. "They (the refs) made a call and we have
to live with it."
Hawks forward Paul Millsap missed his second straight game with a right knee
contusion and will be sidelined until at least the weekend.
Meanwhile, Korver extended his NBA record of hitting at least one 3-pointer in
a game to 125.
The Hawks have a 9-19 record away from home and are winless in five
consecutive road games. After visiting Boston, the Hawks will open the western
portion of their trip against Phoenix, Portland, Golden State, the Los Angeles
Clippers and Utah.
Atlanta and Boston have split two meetings this season with each team
prevailing on foreign ground. The Hawks are 3-9 in the last 12 trips to
