Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Clippers will be without one of their top shooters for perhaps the next two months, with the team announcing Sunday that guard J.J. Redick has fractured a bone in his right hand as well as a torn ulnar collateral ligament of his elbow.
Redick suffered the injuries during the second quarter of the Clippers' 104-98 overtime win at Sacramento on Friday. The veteran 3-point specialist is expected to be sidelined between 6-to-8 weeks.
Acquired from Milwaukee as part of a three-team trade over the summer, Redick was averaging a career-best 15.8 points along with 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists through his first 17 games with Los Angeles. The former Duke star had reached double figures in all but two of those contests.
Friday's victory was the fourth straight for the Clippers, who currently hold a three-game lead atop the Pacific Division.
