New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NBA suspended Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut and Portland Trail Blazers guard Mo Williams one game each after the two players fought during a game between the teams this past Saturday.
Additionally, Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge was fined $45,000 by the league for his role in the incident, which occurred in the third quarter of Portland's 113-101 win at Oracle Arena. Portland guard Wesley Matthews and Warriors forward Draymond Green both received fines of $20,000 for escalating the scuffle.
With 3:42 remaining in the third quarter, Bogut became entangled with Joel Freeland under the basket and elbowed the Blazers center in the jaw, prompting Williams, Matthews and Aldridge to step in and defend their teammates. Williams appeared to swing his arm at Bogut as the two briefly shoved one another before order was eventually restored.
Matthews, Williams and Green were all ejected from the game, with Bogut, Aldridge and Freeland each handed technical fouls.
Williams will serve his suspension when the Blazers host the New York Knicks on Monday, while Bogut will sit out Tuesday's game at New Orleans.
