Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - NBA veteran forward Lamar Odom was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Los Angeles Times provided information regarding the incident, and a California Highway Patrol officer told the paper Odom was initially spotted driving erratically on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.
The 33-year-old Odom continued driving as authorities pursued him and didn't pull over until reaching the exit for Coldwater Canyon Boulevard.
According to the CHP report, Odom showed objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests, and later refused all chemical tests at the Van Nuys jail. Odom is suspected of being impaired by alcohol and possibly drugs while operating a vehicle.
The 14-year-veteran has been in headlines recent weeks for alleged drug use, including reports last weekend that he was missing after a fight with his wife.
Odom's agent clarified his whereabouts, telling ESPN that he was "not missing," and a separate source told the outlet Odom was at a Los Angles hotel with friends who were trying to help him with his drug problem.
Odom has spent 12 of his NBA seasons in Los Angeles between playing for the Clippers and Lakers. He was with the Clippers this past season, but currently remains a free agent.
