(SportsNetwork.com) - Right-handers Zach McAllister and Trevor Bauer take the mound for the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday afternoon when they face the San Diego Padres in the final two games of a weather-addled interleague series with the visiting San Diego Padres at Progressive Field.
The teams had been scheduled to play one game each on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but the initial game was scrubbed due to weather and rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
McAllister will be making his second start of the season after tossing four innings in a no-decision against Oakland in the back half of a doubleheader one week ago.
He gave up two runs in the first inning and three overall in the game, which was won by the Athletics, 6-4.
Bauer, on the other hand, debuts with the Indians in 2014 after making four appearances with them after an in-season trade in 2013 that brought him over from Arizona.
He was 1-2 with a 5.29 earned run average for Cleveland while tossing 17 innings and posting a 5.29 earned run average.
Bauer was 0-1 in four spring training games with a 10.29 ERA, but was strong in a start for Triple-A Columbus on Friday, surrendering just a run on two hits in six innings, while striking out nine batters.
San Diego goes with veteran Eric Stults in the opener.
He last pitched against Cleveland in 2012 while as a member of the Chicago White Sox and failed to get a no-decision after allowing two runs in six innings.
The Indians won the game, 3-2.
In his first start of 2014, Stults was dinged for seven hits and five runs in an 8-2 loss at Miami.
Lefty Robbie Erlin gets the call in the second game after he'd initially been set to start on Monday.
Manager Bud Black's initial plan was for Erlin to start the opener and have Tyson Ross, a right-hander, break up lefties Erlin and Stults. Instead, Ross went ahead and started on Tuesday, leaving the two southpaws for Wednesday.
Erlin was 3-3 in nine starts last season and pitched two uneventful innings of relief in his 2014 debut last Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Cleveland won the opener of the reset series on Tuesday, as David Murphy went 2-for-3 with a homer, four runs batted in and three runs scored to lead the Indians to an 8-6 victory.
Corey Kluber (1-1) hurled six innings to get the win, fanning eight and allowing three runs on nine hits. Jedd Gyorko knocked in three runs and Yasmani Grandal went 4-for-5 with an RBI for the Padres, who have lost five of six.
Ross (0-2) allowed seven runs -- two earned -- on five hits and five walks through his 5 1/3 frames on the hill.
Cleveland took two of three from the Padres the last time these teams met back in 2008.
