Colorado Rockies (0-1) at Miami Marlins (1-0), 7:10 p.m.
Probable Starting Pitchers: Colorado - Brett Anderson (0-0, 0.00) Miami - Nathan Eovaldi (0-0, 0.00)
(SportsNetwork.com) - Miami right-hander Nathan Eovaldi will try to make it two straight pitching gems for the Marlins on Tuesday night when they host the Colorado Rockies in the second test of a four-game season-opening series at Marlins Park.
Reigning National League Rookie of the Year Jose Fernandez was strong in his season debut on Monday, as the Marlins routed the Rockies, 10-1. Adeiny Hechavarria and Ozuna both went 3-for-4 for the Marlins, who are 5-1 in their last six season openers at home.
Fernandez (1-0) surrendered only one run off five hits with no walks across six solid innings. His nine strikeouts tied the franchise's Opening Day record that was set by Josh Beckett in 2004.
Carlos Gonzalez's homer accounted for Colorado's lone run.
Jorge De La Rosa (0-1) gave up five runs on four hits while fanning six batters across 4 1/3 innings of work in his first career Opening Day start.
Meanwhile, Eovaldi, a 24-year-old from Houston, made 18 starts with Miami last season in his first complete year in a Marlins uniform. He split 2012 between Miami and the Los Angeles Dodgers and was sent east in a deal that brought Hanley Ramirez to the Dodgers.
He's 1-2 in four career starts against the Rockies, having allowed 20 hits and eighr earned runs in 22 1/3 innings of work.
In 15 career starts at Marlins Park, Eovaldi is 3-8 with a respectable 3.48 earned run average.
For the Rockies, Texas-born southpaw Brett Anderson makes his first start in a Colorado uniform.
The 26-year-old was a second-round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006 before making his way to Oakland in a 2007 trade that sent Dan Haren to the Diamondbacks. Anderson reached the majors in 2009 and spent five seasons with the Athletics, going 26-29 with a 3.81 earned run average across 83 games - including 74 starts.
Anderson, who has never faced the Marlins, went to the Rockies as part of a December trade that sent Drew Pomeranz and a minor-leaguer to Oakland.
The Marlins edged out the Rockies, 4-3, in the season series a year ago.
