(SportsNetwork.com) - Ubaldo Jimenez appears to have finally found a home, with FoxSports.com reporting Monday that the free agent pitcher has agreed to terms with the Baltimore Orioles.
MASNsports.com reported earlier in the day that the Orioles were nearing a deal for Jimenez, who helped the Cleveland Indians to a surprise appearance in last year's American League Wild Card Game, in the neighborhood of four years and $48 million.
Jimenez's market had been slow to develop primarily because he received a qualifying offer from the Indians, meaning Baltimore will have to surrender its first-round pick in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft to sign him.
The 30-year-old is coming off a strong rebound season, posting a 13-9 record and a 3.30 earned run average over 32 starts with the Indians and striking out 194 batters in 182 2/3 innings.
Jimenez finished third in the National League Cy Young Award voting in 2010 after amassing a 19-8 record with a 2.88 ERA with the Colorado Rockies, but went just 19-30 with a 5.03 ERA over the next two seasons prior to last year's bounce-back campaign. He led the majors with 17 losses in 2012.
Over eight major league seasons with Colorado and Cleveland, the Dominican right-hander has gone 82-75 with a 3.92 ERA.
Jimenez will presumably join 16-game winner Chris Tillman at the top of a Baltimore rotation that will also likely include holdovers Miguel Gonzalez, Wei-Yin Chen and Bud Norris.
