Raul Ibanez has hit .305 with an OPS of 1.030 in Phillies wins and just .241 with an OPS of .747 in Phillies losses.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
Apparently Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Raul Ibanez is back from his summer "vacation." Hopefully, in time to help you win your fantasy league title.
In case you weren't paying attention, Ibanez was hitting .332 on Memorial Day, the tradition start of the summer season. He had smacked 17 home runs, knocked in a team-high 46 runs and posted a stunning OPS of 1.080.
But as spring turned to summer, Ibanez was nowhere to be found. His batting average dropped below the .300 mark and kept on sinking. As Labor Day approached, the tradition end of summer, Ibanez's average had sunk to a season low .272. He had just four multi-hit games in August and hit one measly home run. The ugly totals for the summer were a .222 batting average with 10 HR, 33 RBI and an OPS of 0.742.
But with the kids back in school and vacations over, Ibanez has begun to hit once again. He had his first three-hit game since June 2nd on Tuesday and has a five-game hitting streak. The leftfielder is nine for his last 20 with three home runs and an OPS of 1.476.
With Ibanez's resurgence should come Phillies wins. He has hit .305 with an OPS of 1.030 in Phillies wins and just .241 with an OPS of .747 in Phillies losses.
