Kemba Walker, G12/19/2014 9:28:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Kemba Walker played very well during Friday's win against Philadelphia.
Insight: He was 13-of-23 from the floor for a team-high 30 points. Walker also contributed five assists, four boards, three 3-pointers, one steal, and three turnovers. He should be in all owners' starting lineups.

Description: Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist came off the bench and led the Hornets with 15 points on Saturday.
Insight: It was a lackluster performance from Charlotte as only one player shot higher than 40 percent in the game. Brian Robert was 5-of-7 with 15 points. Kidd-Gilchrist and Lance Stephenson were both 5-of-13 from the field. Kidd-Gilchrist also had five rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Description: Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will return from his foot injury on Wednesday against the Celtics unless he suffers a setback.
Insight: Kidd-Gilchrist missed 12 straight games due to a stress reaction. His return means Gerald Henderson and P.J. Hairston will become fantasy irrelevant. If for some reason Kidd-Gilchrist is available, he should be added in standard leagues.

Description: Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could return sometime this week, maybe Wednesday at the earliest, according to coach Steve Clifford.

Description: Hornets center Al Jefferson was unstoppable at times against the Knicks on Friday.
Insight: Jefferson looked good spinning out of double teams on certain plays, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, but he also struggled down the stretch, shooting 8-of-21 overall. Regardless, Jefferson is a must-start in fantasy due to his threat to score a double-double every night.
Kemba Walker, G12/5/2014 9:27:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Kemba Walker scored the game-winning layup as time expired to beat the Knicks, 103-102, on Friday.

Marvin Williams, F11/28/2014 2:01:00 PM
Description: Hornets forward Marvin Williams (shoulder) is doubtful for Friday against Golden State
Insight: Williams' absence would mean Cody Zeller would get the start at power forward, but his fantasy value is minimal.
P.J. Hairston, G11/28/2014 11:15:00 AM
Description: Hornets G/F P.J. Hairston played 21 minutes off the bench Wednesday, but also sprained a thumb and is is questionable for Friday's game against Golden State
Insight: The rookie hasn't produced much this season (5.1 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.8 apg), but also hasn't seem a lot of minutes. The injury comes at a bad time as he could have gotten more playing time due to all the current injuries on the Hornets roster.
Jeff Taylor, G11/28/2014 11:12:00 AM
Description: Charlotte G/F Jeff Taylor will be eligible to return on Jan. 5 against Boston.
Insight: Taylor is serving a 24-game suspension for his involvement in a domestic violence case. In his first two seasons he was not fantasy worthy and was buried too deep on the depth chart to be of value in 2014-15 as well.

Description: Orlando backup point guard Luke Ridnour is expected to return from a personal issue that cvaused him to miss Saturday's game.
Insight: Ridnour (5.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.1 apg) isn't fantasy worthy, but his return will take minutes back from Elfrid Payton and possibly Evan Fournier.
Gary Neal, G11/17/2014 1:46:00 PM
Description: Hornets guard Gary Neal will miss Monday's game against Dallas due to concussion symptoms.
Insight: There is no timetable for his return. Neal has played solidly off the bench, scoring 12.2 ppg with 3.3 rpg and 1.9 apg.

Marvin Williams, F11/13/2014 4:53:00 PM
Description: Hornets forward Marvin Williams (left knee tendinitis) is doubtful for Friday against the Suns.

Al Jefferson, C11/12/2014 9:50:00 AM
Description: Hornets center Al Jefferson scored 22 points against the Trail Blazers on Tuesday.
Insight: That's actually below his own standards as Jefferson is averaging 23.9 ppg in seven games this month. But what really disappointed Jefferson owners on Tuesday was his two rebounds. That's, by far, a season-low.
Al Jefferson, C11/7/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: Hornets center Al Jefferson finished a rebound shy of another double-double on Friday.
Insight: Jefferson played 41 minutes due to the game against the Hawks going into double overtime, but the center failed to get the 10th rebound. He still had 34 points with nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal.
Lance Stephenson, G11/7/2014 10:18:00 PM

Kemba Walker, G11/5/2014 9:40:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Kemba Walker shot 5-for-6 from the field, including 2-for-2 from the 3-point line, and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line against the Heat on Wednesday.
Insight: The efficient night led to 18 points for Walker. He also had seven assists to just one turnover.
Al Jefferson, C11/5/2014 9:38:00 PM
Description: Hornets center Al Jefferson scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against the Heat on Wednesday.
Insight: This was Jefferson's second double-double of the season and first since opening night. He was 13-for-25 from the field and also had three blocks.
Al Jefferson, C11/4/2014 10:50:00 PM
Description: Hornets center Al Jefferson scored a team-high 20 points in Tuesday's loss to the Pelicans.

Lance Stephenson, G10/30/2014 4:30:00 PM
Description: Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson put up an interesting line in his debut for Charlotte Wednesday.
Insight: Stephenson didn't shoot very weel (3-of-12), but did pull down 13 rebounds and dished out eight assists in an overtime win. He's dealing with a groin issue, but it shouldn't keep him from playing.
Al Jefferson, C10/29/2014 9:50:00 PM
Description: Hornets center Al Jefferson posted a double-double in the season opener against the Bucks.
Insight: He had 14 points and 10 rebounds, while chipping in four blocks and two steals. Jefferson should be a double-double machine all season long.
Kemba Walker, G10/29/2014 9:48:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Kemba Walker hit the game-winning jumper, in overtime, against Milwaukee.
Insight: Charlotte trailed all night, but forced overtime, and Walker put the Hornets in front for good with 5.1 seconds remaining in the extra session. He had a poor shooting night (9-for-26), but did have 26 points, three 3-pointers, six rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block. Solid start to the season for Walker.
Lance Stephenson, G10/29/2014 4:11:00 PM
Description: Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson will play in the season opener against the Bucks.
Insight: Stephenson has been dealing with a couple injuries throughout preseason, but he is ready to go on Wednesday. It will likely going to take some time for him to adjust to a new system, but Stephenson has the chance to be a real star.
Gerald Henderson, G10/27/2014 5:55:00 PM
Description: Hornets SF/SG Gerald Henderson will have a tough time reaching his averages from last season.
Insight: He averaged 14.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg, but now that Lance Stephenson is starting at shooting guard, Henderson will most likely see those numbers decline.
Kemba Walker, G10/27/2014 5:52:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Kemba Walker is coming off a solid 2013-14 campaign.
Insight: He averaged 17.7 ppg, 6.1 apg, 4.2 rpg, and 1.5 three-pointers per game. Walker will have a great chance to improve upon those numbers this season, and owners need to start him with confidence as the season gets underway.
Lance Stephenson, G10/27/2014 5:40:00 PM
Description: Hornets SG Lance Stephenson is an intriguing player heading into the season.
Insight: Entering his first season with Charlotte, Stephenson should be able to at least duplicate his numbers from last season (13.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg, and 0.7 spg). As a result, he will provide both the Hornets and fantasy owners with a solid all-around season.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF10/27/2014 5:30:00 PM
Description: Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will not be a relevant fantasy player this season.
Insight: He averaged only 7.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 0.8 apg last season. Kidd-Gilchrist simply does not provide enough production to be considered a suitable fantasy asset.
Al Jefferson, C10/27/2014 5:27:00 PM
Description: Bobcats center Al Jefferson should be in line for another big season.
Insight: Jefferson averaged 21.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg and 2.1 apg last season and should have went in the first or second rounds of fantasy drafts, as he will be an anchor for teams in 2014-15.
Marvin Williams, F10/27/2014 5:02:00 PM
Description: Hornets forward Marvin Williams will open the season as Charlotte's starting power forward.
Insight: After averaging 9.1 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, and 1.3 three-pointers per game last season, Williams should be left on waivers for the foreseeable future.
Kemba Walker, G10/24/2014 1:40:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Kemba Walker is dealing with a sore left foot as we near the start of the regular season opener.
Insight: Walker averaged 17.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assist last season, but some of his numbers could take a hit with the addition of Lance Stephenson to the Charlotte starting lineup.
Noah Vonleh, F10/24/2014 1:35:00 PM
Description: Hornets rookie power forward not expected to be ready for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee after offseason hernia surgery, according to a Charlotte Observer report.
Insight: Vonleh is buried on the depth chart, so this should not effect any fantasy lineups, or likely rosters, except in dynasty leagues.
Lance Stephenson, G10/24/2014 1:33:00 PM
Description: Hornets SG Lance Stephenson is dealing with a groin injury that is slowing his preseason, but he's probable for the opener.
Insight: Stephenson broke out for the Pacers in 2013-14, averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game though he' sometimes out of control. It will be interesting to see how he, PG Kemba Walker and SF Gerald Henderson get along.
Gerald Henderson, G10/24/2014 1:29:00 PM
Description: Hornets SF/SG Gerald Henderson is dealing with a strained right hamstring and isn't ready to start full practices.
Insight: He'll probably miss the opener. Henderson (14.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg in 77 games in 2013-14) will have to give up some of his scoring and ball handling to newly-acquired Lance Stephenson.
Kemba Walker, G10/16/2014 2:28:00 PM
Description: Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker is dealing with a sore knee after a collision with Elfrid Payton.
Insight: Walker doesn't have anything serious going on here and might play if this were the regular season. He averaged 17.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assist last season, but some of his numbers could take a hit with the addition of Lance Stephenson to the Charlotte starting lineup.
Al Jefferson, C7/28/2014 12:19:00 PM
Description: Bobcats center Al Jefferson (torn plantar fascia) will not compete for a Team USA spot, instead opting to rest the foot for next season.
Insight: Jefferson averaged 21.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg and 2.1 apg last season and that's top-tier fantasy value and we wouldn't want anything to slow his recovery. Team USA still has plenty of talent in the middle.
Lance Stephenson, G7/16/2014 3:46:00 PM
Description: The Hornets have signed Lance Stephenson to a three-year, $27 million contract.
Insight: The third year is a team option. Stephenson broke out for the Pacers in 2013-14, averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, though he played out of control at times and rubbed some people the wrong way with his on-court antics. He'll replace Gerald Henderson (14 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.6 apg) in the starting lineup.
Brian Roberts, G7/13/2014 8:17:00 PM
Description: Brian Roberts has signed on with the Charlotte Hornets for two years and $5.5 million.
Insight: Roberts played the past two seasons with New Orleans, who was known as the Hornets prior to 2013-14. Now, he'll be backing up Kemba Walker on the Charlotte version of the team.
Marvin Williams, F7/13/2014 4:00:00 PM
Description: Marvin Williams has agreed to a two-year, $14 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets.
Insight: Williams played 66 games with the Jazz in 2013-14, starting 50, and he averaged 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 threes. He'll fill minutes at power forward and small forward but won't be a good fantasy option.
Gerald Henderson, G5/23/2014 9:11:00 PM
Description: Hornets shooting guard Gerald Henderson recently had surgery on his right wrist. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: He had some scar tissue removed. Henderson (14.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg in 77 games in 2013-14) should be fully recovered by the time the season opens in late October.
Josh McRoberts, F4/30/2014 9:28:00 PM
Description: Bobcats power forward Josh McRoberts underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his left big toe on Wednesday.
Insight: McRoberts is expected to decline his option for 2014-15 after starting 78 games and averaging 30.3 minutes, 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 threes this past season.
Kemba Walker, G4/28/2014 6:40:00 PM
Description: Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker had 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the Heat, but Miami still finished off the sweep.

Al Jefferson, C4/28/2014 5:46:00 PM

Insight: Jefferson gutted out the first three games of the series at far less than 100 percent and averaged 35 minutes, 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds. Miami will go for the sweep Monday night.
Al Jefferson, C4/28/2014 12:17:00 PM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson (torn plantar fascia) has been downgraded to doubtful for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Monday against Miami.
Insight: He couldn't do anything at the morning shootaround, according to coach Steve Clifford. Jefferson was a fantasy stud all season averaging 21.8 ppg and 10.8 rpg. He's averaged 18.7 ppg and 9.3 rpg in three playoff games.
Al Jefferson, C4/27/2014 2:33:00 PM
Description: According to Charlotte coach Steve Clifford, center Al Jefferson (torn plantar fascia) will be a game-time call Monday in Game 4. SOURCE: Rick Bonnell, Charlotte Observer
Insight: Don't believe a word Clifford says. Big Al is playing on Monday. But how effective will he be? Well that's up for debate. Jefferson has certainly looked hobbled against the Heat (18.7 ppg on 49.1 percent shooting) but with the Bobcats' season on the line, we're sure he'll give it his best effort.
Al Jefferson, C4/26/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson (foot) is questionable for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Saturday against Miami.
Insight: Jefferson has been dealing with a plantar fascia injury which will likely be with him throughout the playoffs. He averaged 21.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg during the regular season and 18 ppg and 11.5 rpg in the playoffs.
Al Jefferson, C4/23/2014 7:49:00 PM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson (foot) returned to Wednesday's game against the Heat in the second quarter.
Insight: Jefferson had a pain-killing injection prior to the game for his plantar fascia injury but had to go to the locker room with two minutes left in the first quarter. Coach Steve Clifford told Rachel Nichols of Turner Sports during a sideline interview that Jefferson said he felt his foot tear a little more, but the center will attempt to play through the pain.
Al Jefferson, C4/23/2014 7:34:00 PM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson (foot) started Wednesday's game against the Heat but went to the locker room with two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Insight: Jefferson is dealing with a plantar fascia injury and was a game-time decision. He had a pain-killing injection prior to the game so it's not a good sign that he already had to exit.
Al Jefferson, C4/23/2014 6:58:00 PM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson (foot) participated in pre-game warmups and is expected to play Wednesday in Game 2 against the Heat. SOURCE: Michael Wallace, ESPN
Insight: He's been assured that playing on his strained plantar fascia won't make the injury worse, though it's still going to be very painful. The Bobcats will try to avoid a 2-0 deficit against Miami.
Al Jefferson, C4/21/2014 9:48:00 PM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson says he'll be active for Wednesday's Game 2 against Miami. SOURCE: Rick Bonnell, Charlotte Observer
Insight: He's been assured that playing on his strained plantar fascia won't make the injury worse, though it's still going to be very painful. Big Al logged 35 minutes in the opener on Sunday and will probably see a similar workload in Game 2.
Al Jefferson, C4/20/2014 7:37:00 PM
Description: Updating an earlier story, Bobcats center Al Jefferson left the arena Sunday wearing a walking boot on his left foot. SOURCE: Rick Bonnell, Charlotte Observer
Insight: Jefferson said he heard a "pop," which is never good. He's officially been diagnosed with a strained plantar fascia and it's 50/50 whether he suits up for Game 2 on Wednesday night.
Al Jefferson, C4/20/2014 6:43:00 PM
Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson strained his left plantar fascia Sunday in a Game 1 loss to Miami. SOURCE: Bobcats on PR
Insight: He played through the injury and finished with 18 points on 9-of-17 shooting. The Bobcats are going to have their work cut out for them if Jefferson is hobbled throughout this first round series.
Kemba Walker, G4/20/2014 6:40:00 PM
Description: Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker had an eventful afternoon Sunday against the Heat.
Insight: In his first ever playoff game, Walker finished with 20 points, five rebounds and six assists in 38 minutes. Unfortunately, he shot a dismal 6-of-15 from the floor (40 percent) while committing six turnovers. The Bobcats, now in their 11th year in existence, have still never won a playoff game (0-5 all-time).
Al Jefferson, CHot4/14/2014 10:05:00 PM

Description: Charlotte center Al Jefferson threw up 38 points and 19 rebounds Monday against the Heat.
Insight: You won't hear much about Jefferson because LeBron James had a career-high 61 points in Miami's 17-point win over the Bobcats, but Charlotte's center was masterful. Big Al has been an absolute stud over his last 23 games, averaging 26 ppg and 11.1 rpg in that span.

Description: Charlotte swingman Chris Douglas-Roberts needed six stitches above his eye Friday against the Pelicans. SOURCE: Bobcats PR on Twitter
Insight: He's already back out there so fantasy owners have no need to panic. Not that you'd be playing Douglas-Roberts (4.5 ppg) anyway. Right now he's owned in fewer than one percent of fantasy leagues.
Luke Ridnour, G2/20/2014 6:17:00 PM
Description: The Bucks dealt point guard Luke Ridnour to Charlotte on Thursday. Gary Neal, Jeff Adrien and Ramon Sessions were also involved in the trade. SOURCE: Marc Stein, ESPN

Gerald Henderson, G2/8/2014 10:00:00 PM
Description: Bobcats guards Gerald Henderson scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists and hit two threes Saturday against San Antonio.
Insight: Henderson rarely takes 3-pointers. In fact, he hadn't hit more than one in a game since Dec. 30. However, he gets to the foul line often and has averaged 15+ points for the third straight season. He also rebounds well for a shooting guard with 4.3 per game.
Kemba Walker, G2/5/2014 7:31:00 PM
Description: Charlotte guard Kemba Walker dealt with cramps Tuesday versus Golden State but the injury isn't expected to impact his status for Saturday's game against the Spurs.
Insight: Walker scored just seven points Tuesday in his return from a sprained ankle. If Walker (18.4 ppg, 5.1 apg) is limited at all on Saturday, backup Ramon Sessions (10.6 ppg, 3.6 apg) would see an increase in playing time.
Al Jefferson, CHot2/5/2014 11:20:00 AM

Insight: After playing in 190 consecutive games to start his NBA career, Walker has missed the last two and figures to be out a few more, but he's tough and should be back at the short end of the original 10-14 day timetable. He's averaging 18.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.4 spg, 1.5 threes per contest, so fantasy owners need him back as much as the Bobcats.
