NFL Preseason Preview - Cincinnati (2-0) at Dallas (1-2)
By John McMullen, NFL Editor
(Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals take their perfect preseason record to the Lone Star State on Saturday to face off with the Dallas Cowboys.
Andy Dalton passed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-14 passing last week as the Bengals earned a 27-19 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Giovani Bernard and Daniel Herron each had a touchdown run while Mohamed Sanu caught a touchdown pass for Cincinnati, which has won both of their preseason games thus far.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, are coming off a 12-7 setback to the Arizona Cardinals in the desert.
Dallas accumulated 342 total yards in the contest, but committed six turnovers.
Tony Romo went 7-for-10 for 142 yards while Alex Tanney was 14-for-19 for 136 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
However, two of Kyle Orton's eight pass attempts were interceptions. Dallas also had to deal with fumbles by receivers Dez Bryant and Dwayne Harris and running back Lance Dunbar.
Off the field things were much rosier for the Cowboys as the team signed middle linebacker Sean Lee to a six-year contract extension on Wednesday.
The Cowboys' official web site reported the deal, which will run through the 2019 season, is worth approximately $42 million with more than $16 million guaranteed, and includes playing-time incentives that could earn Lee as much as $51 million.
Heading into his fourth pro season, Lee has racked up 195 tackles and seven interceptions over 35 games with Dallas, who selected the Pittsburgh native and Penn State product in the second round of the 2010 draft. He has held down a starting role since the 2011 campaign.
Lee was limited to six games in 2012 thanks to a right big toe injury which required season-ending surgery, however. He suffered what was termed a torn plantar plate in a game against the Carolina Panthers in late October.
Dallas and Cincinnati have squared off 11 times in the regular season, but only once in the preseason. The previous meeting occurred during the 2010 NFL Hall of Fame Game where the Cowboys were victorious in Canton, 16-7.
