New York, NY (Sports Network) - Major League Baseball on Monday announced the breakdown of its postseason payouts.

The 2012 World Series champion San Francisco Giants were able to dole out a record $377,002.64 for a full share, eclipsing the $362,173.07 that the 2006 World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals earned.

San Francisco received $23,530,848.92 of the players' pool and handed out 50 full shares, 11.10 partial shares and 12 additional cash awards.

The American League champion Detroit Tigers, meanwhile, totaled $284,274.50 per full share of their $15,687,232.61. The Tigers distributed 48 full shares, 7.06 partial shares and seven individual cash awards.

The players' pool represented 50 percent of the gate receipts from the Wild Card games; 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first three games of the Division Series; 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first four games of the League Championship Series; and 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first four games of the World Series.

That money was divided amongst 10 teams: the two World Series participants, the two League Championship Series runners-up, the four Division Series runners-up and the two runners-up in the Wild Card games.

St. Louis and the New York Yankees both claimed $7,843,616.31 for the honor of losing to the World Series participants. The Cardinals saw a full share valued at $122,558.29, while the Bronx Bombers' full share clocked in at $115,065.28.

Baltimore, Cincinnati, Oakland and Washington all walked away with $2,124,312.75 for participating in the Division Series. The Orioles' full share was worth $34,825.61, it was $37,865.12 for the Reds, the A's had $34,325.16 for a full share while the Nationals garnered $37,045.32.

The wild card losers, Atlanta and Texas, both reeled in $980,452.04. The Braves' full share was worth $19,609.04, while the Rangers totaled $16,99.09

The 2012 players' pool was $65,363,469.22.
