Dallas Clark collected seven receptions for 183 yards along with a touchdown.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
A new feature on the site is the TSN Fantasy Player of the Week. We will evaluate everyone's performance, by position, and then make our overall selection at the end of the article.
Matt Schaub, Houston (RapidDraft ADP 99.1) - As bad as Schaub looked in Week 1 against what we now know to be a pretty good New York Jets defense (18-for-34 for 166 yards, no TDs, one INT), that's how good he was against the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. Schaub earned 38 fantasy points after throwing 25-for-39 for 357 yards and four scores. Next up is a game with Jacksonville, who was taken apart by Kurt Warner.
Philip Rivers, San Diego (ADP 64.8) - Like Schaub, Rivers didn't have a great Week 1 and was facing the tough Baltimore Ravens defense. Rivers was up to the task, at least "fantasy-wise" and posted 29 points on 25-for-45 passing for 436 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs.
Honorable Mention: Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb got a chance to play and posted 391 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs. His team didn't win, but for fantasy owners who plugged him in for Donovan McNabb, it was an unexpectedly good performance.
Chris Johnson, Tennessee (ADP 10.7) - This was the easiest category to make my selections. Johnson had almost 200 combined yards by halftime and totaled 274 yards and three scores by the end of the game. His afternoon of work produced as many as 72 fantasy points in one of my leagues and likely won you your matchup.
Frank Gore, San Francisco (ADP 10.2) - One play into the second half it looked like Gore would have a good chance of beating Johnson's total for the day. His second long touchdown run (he had one of 79 yards and one of 80 yards), had his total over 200 yards with almost a full half to go. He finished with 59 points. Gore has a tougher matchup next week against Minnesota, so don't expect a repeat performance.
Andre Johnson, Houston (ADP 15.4) - As with his quarterback, Schaub, Andre Johnson bounced back from a poor first week with a 10-catch, 149-yard, two touchdown effort. It included an acrobatic, endzone sideline-dancing reception which made all the highlight reels.
Mario Manningham, New York Giants (ADP 1445) - Coming out of camp, Manningham looked to be the best of the Giants new corps of receivers, but wasn't drafted in most leagues. He was behind Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks and even tight end Kevin Boss in the eyes of fantasy owners. Manningham has now caught touchdown passes in each of the first two games. His 10-catch, 150-yard, one TD performance in front of a national audience will surely get him a lot of attention this week on the waiver wire. He's owned in about 50% of all leagues, but that number will shoot through the roof this week.
Dallas Clark, Indianapolis (ADP 77.8) - With one of the Colts starting wideouts on the sidelines due to injury (Anthony Gonzalez) and the Miami Dolphins double teaming Reggie Wayne all over the field, Clark and Peyton Manning had a special night on Monday. Despite holding the ball on offense for less than 15 minutes, Clark collected seven receptions for 183 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown on the game's opening play.
Kellen Winslow, Tampa Bay (ADP 92.9) - Winslow is taking advantage of the fact that No.1 wide receiver Antonio Bryant is out of action and has scored in each of the first two games. A seven-catch, 90-yard, one TD performance gets him on the list.
Rian Lindell, Buffalo ADP 207) - Lindell was perfect on the day going four-for-four on field goals (31, 43, 27, 20) and three-for-three on extra points.
Lawrence Tynes, New York Giants (ADP 247.7) - Tynes made four field goals - actually five if you count the two times he had to kick the game winner after a last-second timeout call by Dallas head coach Wade Phillips.
Arizona (ADP 240.3) - The Cardinals accumulated four sacks, one interception, forced two fumbles and returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown to grab the defensive honors.
TSN Fantasy Player of the Week
There were a lot of good candidates for Fantasy Player of the Week - Schaub, Gore, Andre Johnson, Manningham and Clark, but Chris Johnson stole their thunder with his superior effort against the Houston Texans. He averaged 12.3 yards-per-carry on just 16 rushes and caught nine balls for another 87 yards and his three touchdowns were from 57, 69 and 91 yards out. Chris Johnson is our Fantasy Player of the Week for Week 2.
