Insight: He missed Game 1 with an upper body injury. Ray Emery (9-12,-2, 2.96 GAA) would get the call if Mason can't suit up.

Description: The Ducks will go with Frederik Andersen in Game 1 of the playoffs against the Stars Wednesday night, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register.
Insight: The 24-year-old rookie went 20-5-0 with a 2.29 GAA and a .923 SV% as a backup to Jonas Hiller this season. Hiller had a 3.34 GAA and an .881 SV% over his final 10 starts.

Description: An upper-body injury will sideline Steve Mason for Game 1 against the Rangers on Thursday, according to Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News.
Insight: Ray Emery will start in Mason's place. Mason went 33-18-7 with a 2.50 GAA and a .917 SV% this season. He was shelled in his only career postseason appearance as a rookie in 2008-09, giving up 17 goals in four games against the Red Wings.

Insight: He suffered an elbow injury about a week ago. Anders Lindback (8-12-2, 2.90 GAA) will be in net for Wednesday's playoff opener.

Description: Wild goaltender Josh Harding had the best GAA and SV% in the NHL this season but didn't start after Dec. 31 due to complications from multiple sclerosis.
Insight: Harding finished with an 18-7-3 record, a 1.66 GAA and a .933 SV% in 29 games (26 starts). It's unclear if he'll be able to return for the postseason.
Tuukka Rask, G, BOS4/14/2014 4:46:00 PM
Description: Boston goalie Tuukka Rask led the league with seven shutouts in 2013-14. He went 36-15-6 with a 2.04 GAA and a .930 SV% and should be a finalist for the Vezina Trophy.
Insight: Rask benefited from having one of the NHL's best possession teams in front of him and had to make just 1,526 saves, 14th-most in the NHL and 341 behind leader Semyon Varlamov. That may hurt him in the Vezina competition. Still, it was another excellent season for the 27-year-old.

Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price had a career-high .927 SV% this season. He tied for third in the NHL with Semyon Varlamov in that statistic.
Insight: Price went 34-20-5 with a 2.32 GAA and six shutouts. The 26-year-old has recorded a .920 SV% or better in three of his seven NHL seasons.
Cory Schneider, G, NJD4/14/2014 4:40:00 PM
Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider finished third in the NHL was a 1.97 GAA and tied for 13th with a .921 SV%, but he won only 16 of his 43 starts.
Insight: Schneider lost 15 games in regulation and 12 in overtime. The 28-year-old is expected to be the unquestioned No. 1 goaltender next season after splitting time with Martin Brodeur for most of 2013-14.
Semyon Varlamov, G, COL4/14/2014 4:30:00 PM
Description: Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov led the NHL with 41 wins this season.
Insight: Varlamov finished third in save percentage (.927) and also led the NHL with 1,867 saves, 132 more than second-place Kari Lehtonen.

Description: Blues goalie Ryan Miller isn't exactly firing on all cylinders as he heads into the postseason.
Insight: Miller gave up 18 goals in his last five starts of the season and lost all five. He ended up going 10-8-1 with a 2.47 GAA and a .903 SV% in 19 starts with the Blues after starting out 7-0-1 following the trade from Buffalo.

Description: Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek (23 saves) held his own Sunday in a 3-0 victory over St. Louis.
Insight: It's his second shutout of the season. Mrazek shouldn't see any action when Detroit begins its postseason run later this week.

He was shelled in his only career postseason appearance as a rookie in 2008-09, giving up 17 goals in four games against the Red Wings.

Description: Montreal netminder Carey Price rebounded from Thursday's loss by beating the Rangers 1-0 on Saturday.
Insight: Price produced 41 saves in the victory. The Canadiens finished the regular season with 100 points, their highest point total since 2008. It looks like they'll open against Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs.

Description: Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson made 28 saves Saturday for his fourth shutout of the season.
Insight: Fantasy owners have to be disappointed with how Anderson (24-16-8, 3.06 GAA) has performed this season but at least he can go out on a high note after this outing. Anderson's four clean slates this season are his most since 2009-10 when he played for the Avalanche.

Insight: Smith (27-21-10, 2.64 GAA, .915 SV%) hasn't played since March 24. Thomas Greiss will likely make his ninth consecutive start (9-8-5, 2.35 GAA, .920 SV%).

Insight: John Gibson had a shutout in his NHL debut Monday at Vancouver and will get another start Wednesday against the Sharks. Andersen has been terrific as Jonas Hiller's backup this season, going 19-5-0 with a 2.27 GAA and a .924 SV%.

Insight: Lindback wasn't credited with the shutout because Ben Bishop started the game. If Bishop's upper-body injury is still an issue on Thursday, Lindback (6-12-2, 3.11 GAA) would make his 17th start of the season against the Flyers.

Insight: Andersen has been great as a backup going 19-5-0 with a 2.27 GAA and .924 SV%. Starter Jonas Hiller has lost his last two and could probably use a night off, but that won't happen until Andersen is healthy.

Insight: Ilya Bryzgalov is 7-0-5 record with a 1.83 goals-against average and .931 save percentage since late January so there is no reason to rush Kuemper back before he is 100 percent.
