Cincinnati Bengals Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Mohamed Sanu, WR11/23/2014 7:10:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu scored a touchdown in Week 12.
Insight: He had five catches for 48 yards on seven targets. Sanu is a WR3 with A.J. Green back and fully healthy.
A.J. Green, WR11/23/2014 7:07:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green had a big day during Week 12's victory versus Houston.
Insight: He had 12 catches for 121 yards, on 16 targets. Green is over his toe injury and is a WR1 from here on out.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/23/2014 7:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard rushed for 45 yards during his return to action.
Insight: He was given 17 carries and had two catches for 22 more yards. Bernard and Jeremy Hill will continue to split reps, making Bernard an RB2 candidate.
Jeremy Hill, RB11/23/2014 7:04:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill had a team-high 87 rushing yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Insight: He did so on 18 carries, and had a touchdown as well. Hill is still a solid RB2 even with Giovani Bernard back in the fold.
Andy Dalton, QB11/23/2014 7:03:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a decent afternoon on Sunday.
Insight: He was 24-of-35 for 233 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Owners would like to see one more score or two.
Andre Smith, OT11/23/2014 1:38:00 PM
Description: Bengals tackle Andre Smith is done for the with an arm injury.
Insight: It was his left arm, and it is not a good sign for an offensive line derailed by injuries all season long.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/23/2014 11:44:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (hip) is officially active Sunday against Houston.
Insight: Jeremy Hill is still expected to see the majority of the carries, but Bernard will be mixed in as well. We advise owners to be very cautious with Bernard during his first game back.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/21/2014 2:32:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (hip) was again a full participant in practice and should be ready to go Sunday.
Insight: We think it's likely Jeremy Hill get the majority of the rushing attempts and Bernard is the receiving back, but could still see 10-14 touches.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/20/2014 3:10:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (hip) was a full participant in Thursday's practice and should be ready to go Sunday.
Insight: It is unclear how the distribution of the workload will go considering how well backup Jeremy Hill played in Bernard's absence. We think it's likely Hill get the majority of the rushing attempts and Bernanrd is the receiving back.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/19/2014 12:41:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (hip) returned to practice on Wednesday.
Insight: This puts him on track to play Sunday, but it is unclear how involved Bernard will be. Jeremy Hill has earned his time, but expect both backs to be utilized.
Jermaine Gresham, TE11/16/2014 7:17:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham had two catches for 13 yards, but both catches went for scores.
Insight: Gresham saw only three targets and nearly fumbled the first touchdown away. Despite the fantasy outburst, he is no better than a TE2.
Mohamed Sanu, WR11/16/2014 7:15:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu had just three catches for 23 yards.
Insight: Sanu had six targets, but A.J. Green returned to be Andy Dalton's favorite receiver. Sanu is a low-end WR2.
A.J. Green, WR11/16/2014 7:11:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green had his biggest fantasy day of the season in Week 11.
Insight: Green caught six passes for 127 yards and a score. He gained 80 yards on one drive, which ended in a 24-yard touchdown catchf for Green. He is obviously a WR1 moving forward.
Jeremy Hill, RB11/16/2014 7:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill rushed for over 100 yards again.
Insight: Hill gained 152 yards on 27 carries against the Saints. In his three starts, Hill has rushed for over 150 yards in two of them. Hill is a fantasy starter until Giovani Bernard returns and perhaps even when he does return.
Andy Dalton, QB11/16/2014 7:02:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a big bounceback game on Sunday.
Insight: Dalton was 16-for-22 with 220 yards and three touchdown passes as Cincinnati defeat New Orleans, 27-10, in the Super Dome. Dalton remains a decent QB1 as long as he isn't playing in primetime.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/14/2014 12:09:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard was missing in action again on Friday, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.
Insight: It appears Jeremy Hill is again in line for the majority of the carries in Week 11 against a Saints team yielding 106.7 ypg.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/13/2014 3:42:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard did not practice again on Thursday, according to beat reporter Coley Harvey.
Insight: It appears Jeremy Hill is again in line for the majority of the carries in Week 11. Hill should bounce back from his horrific game against the Browns last week.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/12/2014 1:27:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard did not practice on Wednesday according to ESPN.
Insight: It appears Jeremy Hill is again in line for the majority of the carries in Week 11. Hill should bounce back from his horrific game against the Browns last week. Bernard will be updated again on Thursday.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/12/2014 1:27:00 PM
Description: NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Bengals are "not expecting" Giovani Bernard to play against the Saints this Sunday.
Insight: Breer reported last week that Bernard may be out through Week 11 and even longer. It sounds like it will be Jeremy Hill's backfield for the immediate future. Fantasy owners with Bernard might have to look elsewhere for running back help, not just in Week 11, but for the entire fantasy playoff push.
Mohamed Sanu, WR11/7/2014 9:33:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu caught just two passes for 20 yards.
Insight: Sanu was targeted seven times. Neither Sanu or A.J. Green was open much and even the few times they were Andy Dalton couldn't throw an accurate pass.
A.J. Green, WR11/7/2014 9:32:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green was targeted 10 times, but caught just three for 23 yards.
Insight: The Browns defense dominated all phases of the game and their secondary didn't allow Green any free space to roam.
Andy Dalton, QBCold11/7/2014 9:28:00 AM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was horrible in the game against Cleveland.
Insight: There is no other way to describe a 10-of-33 for 86 yards and three interception night. This season has been a disaster for Dalton who threw for 268.5 ypg and 33 TDs last season, but is averaging just 217.8 ypg in 2014 with eight touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Jeremy Hill, RB11/7/2014 9:24:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill saw just 12 rushes for 55 yards against Cleveland Thursday night.
Insight: After Hill's last game (24-154-2), this one hurts a little bit, but it wasn't just Hill who had a bad night. The entire Bengals offense was missing in action.
Jermaine Gresham, TE11/6/2014 7:30:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham is active for Thursday's game against the Browns.
Insight: If you need him, start him as you normally would. The Sports Network rankings has him the No. 8 tight end this week.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/6/2014 7:28:00 PM
Description: As expected, Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Browns.
Insight: That isn't new, but the now Bernard might not even return in Week 11 after the extra rest. Jeremy Hill gets another opportunity to prove he deserves more playing time even when Bernard returns.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/6/2014 9:05:00 AM
Description: Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has said that running back Giovani Bernard will not play Thursday against Cleveland.
Insight: The short prep week for a Thursday night game killed his chances to return. Rookie Jeremy Hill rushed for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Bernard's absence last Sunday and fantasy owners should expect the rookie to be a workhorse again in Week 10.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/4/2014 11:05:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is doubtful for Thursday's game against Cleveland.
Insight: The short prep week for a Thursday night game isn't helping. Rookie Jeremy Hill rushed for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Bernard's absence and fantasy owners should expect the rookie to be a workhorse again in Week 10.
Giovani Bernard, RB11/3/2014 11:21:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard certainly won't lose his starting gig, but Jeremy Hill's performance may have earned him a bigger share of the pie.
Insight: Rookie Jeremy Hill rushed for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Bernard's absence. The Bengals play Thursday and Bernard is still listed as questionable.
Jermaine Gresham, TE11/2/2014 5:52:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham caught five passes for 36 yards against the Jaguars.
Insight: Gresham received six targets, which actually tied A.J. Green with the second most on the team. His value is still limited, however, as Gresham is not a deep threat and doesn't receive many looks in the red zone.
A.J. Green, WR11/2/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green caught a touchdown in his return to the field in Week 9.
Insight: Green had three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. He received six targets and played a majority of the snaps. As long as he didn't suffer a setback, Green will be a WR1 even against Joe Haden and the Browns on Thursday.
Mohamed Sanu, WR11/2/2014 5:44:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu caught four passes for 95 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars.
Insight: Sanu was once again Andy Dalton's favorite target even though A.J. Green was back on the field. Sanu is also the guy the Bengals offense turns to when they need a trick play.
Jeremy Hill, RB11/2/2014 5:38:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill had an outstanding first start in the NFL.
Insight: Hill actually left the game with an injury but returned and rushed for 154 yards on 24 carries. He also scored twice, including a 60-yard touchdown run to seal the victory. Hill is exactly what fans hoped for on draft day: a great handcuff to Giovania Bernard who will get his fair share of chances and when he does, he will produce.
Andy Dalton, QB11/2/2014 5:32:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had an up-and-down game against the Jaguars on Sunday.
Insight: Dalton was a smart play at home against the Jaguars, but he did a very poor job of taking care of the ball. He threw two interceptions and nearly had one or two other turnovers. He also completed some nice deep passes to Mohamed Sanu and A.J. Green for touchdowns. Dalton is a decent play in an emergence, but it would be best to find another quarterback for consistent production.
Jeremy Hill, RB11/2/2014 2:20:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill left Week 9 against the Jaguars with a left knee injury. UPDATE: Hill returned to the game and rushed for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Insight: Hill's knee bent awkwardly on a wide receiver screen he was trying to block. With no Hill or Giovani Bernard, who was already out, Cedric Peerman is the featured back for now.
A.J. Green, WR11/2/2014 11:59:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green is active for Week 9 against the Jaguars.
Insight: Green might not see too many snaps, but he has to be in fantasy lineups. All Green needs is a one big catch to make an impact, and he has a great chance of that against Jacksonville.
A.J. Green, WR10/31/2014 2:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green (toe) was on the practice field again Friday.
Insight: After three consecutive practices, even "limited" ones, Green has a good chance to play Sunday. Green is still a true game-time decision.
Jeremy Hill, RB10/31/2014 2:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill could be in for a full workload with starter Giovani Bernard not likely to play in Week 9.
Insight: Hill rushed 10 times for 25 yards and caught four for 28 yards against Indianapolis, but his touches could be ramped up with Bernard doubtful. If he sees 20-plus touches he could become a viable fantasy option.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/30/2014 2:26:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard missed a second practice due to a hip injury and its looking like he won't play Sunday unless things change very quickly.
Insight: If Bernard can't play, rookie Jeremy Hill becomes a solid RB2 and possibly an RB1 against a weak Jacksonville defense.
A.J. Green, WR10/30/2014 2:25:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green (toe) was on the practice field Thursday.
Insight: While he also practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, Green admitted that he does not want to make the toe injury any worse, so expect this to be a true game-time decision.
A.J. Green, WR10/29/2014 7:33:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green (toe) indicated that he is still unsure about his status for Week 9.
Insight: While he practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, Green admitted that he does not want to make the toe injury any worse. As a result, it is looking likely that he will come down to a game-time decision on Sunday.
A.J. Green, WR10/29/2014 3:30:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green practiced on Wednesday according to ESPN Bengals reporter Coley Harvey.
Insight: We don't normally care that much if a player practices or not on Wednesday, but this was Green's first Wednesday practice in about a month. He is going to try and play against the Jaguars on Sunday. If he does, we do not expect his snaps to be limited.
Vontaze Burfict, LB10/29/2014 3:27:00 PM
Description: Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict had his left knee scoped on Wednesday and is expected to miss at least two games according to ESPN.
Insight: It seems highly unlikely, however, that Burfict will recover in two weeks time. It takes most players about four weeks to come back from a scope. 2014 has been an injury-plagued season for Burfict as he has missed time with concussions, a neck injury, and now his knee.
Jermaine Gresham, TE10/26/2014 7:01:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham totaled 34 yards in Sunday's win.
Insight: He did so on four catches, but will continue to be a low-end TE2.
Mohamed Sanu, WR10/26/2014 7:00:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu had another productive day with A.J. Green sidelined.
Insight: He had five receptions for 125 yards, on nine targets. Even when Green returns, Sanu will still be a valuable fantasy player, as we move forward.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/26/2014 6:58:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard scored a touchdown before leaving the game with a hip innjury.
Insight: The score saved his fanatsy-day, as he had only 45 yards on 16 carries, along with two catches for two yards. As long as he is able to suit up for Week 9, Bernard will maintain his borderline RB1 status.
Andy Dalton, QB10/26/2014 6:55:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 266 yards in Sunday's win over Baltimore.
Insight: He had a one-yard rushing touchdown, along with an interception and a fumble lost. Dalton is no more than a QB2 for the rest of 2014.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/26/2014 11:48:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (ribs) is active for Week 8.
Insight: The injury was never considered serious, so keep Bernard as your RB1 option for Week 8 against Baltimore.
A.J. Green, WR10/26/2014 11:44:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green will not play Sunday, he's inactive
Insight: This is nothing new. Green is battling a toe injury that appears will keep lingering. Fantasy owners need to find another option for at least Week 8.
A.J. Green, WR10/25/2014 12:50:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green is unlikely to play in this Sunday according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Insight: This is nothing new. Green is battling a toe injury that appears will keep lingering. Fantasy owners need to find another option for at least Week 8.
A.J. Green, WR10/24/2014 2:15:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green didn't practice Friday and can't be considered anything but doubtful for Sunday.
Insight: Green's fantasy owners should have another plan in place because it's not looking good for him to start in Week 8. Mohamed Sanu owners get a reprieve.
Mohamed Sanu, WR10/23/2014 1:26:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu was a big fantasy disappointment in Week 7 against the Colts, but he likely gets another chance to star with A.J. Green not expected to go in Week 8.
Insight: Sanu only had three catches for 54 yards last weekend, but he did see nine targets. Andy Dalton has looked his way often when Green has been sidelined as indicated by his 32 targets in the past three games.
A.J. Green, WR10/23/2014 1:24:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green did practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session, according to Geoff Hobson of bengals.com.
Insight: Green's fantasy owners should have another plan in place because it's not looking good for him to start in Week 8. Mohamed Sanu owners get a reprieve.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/22/2014 3:52:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (ribs) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Insight: He was most likely limited as a result of taking a few big hits in Sunday's loss to Indianapolis. The injury is not considered serious, making Bernard an RB1 option for Week 8 against Baltimore.
A.J. Green, WR10/22/2014 1:27:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green was unable to practice during Wednesday's session.
Insight: There was hope that Green would return for Week 8, but that hope took a hit on Wednesday. Owners need to monitor his progress throughout the week.
Jermaine Gresham, TE10/19/2014 5:22:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham led the team with 10 catches on Sunday against the Colts.
Insight: Without A.J. Green, Gresham had his breakout game with catches. He led the team with 12 targets. Unfortunately, he only averaged 4.8 yards per catch and Cincinnati was shutout.
Mohamed Sanu, WR10/19/2014 5:19:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu was a big fantasy disappointment in Week 7 against the Colts.
Insight: Sanu had three catches for 54 yards. Without A.J. Green, owners were hoping for a huge day. It didn't help the Bengals were shutout.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/19/2014 5:11:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard had his worst statistical game of 2014 against the Colts in Week 7.
Insight: Bernard was one of a handful of running backs who had scored at least five points in every single week going into Sunday. Bernard had just seven carries for 17 yards and a negative yard in the passing game.
Andy Dalton, QB10/19/2014 5:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was 18-for-38 for 126 yards on Sunday against the Colts.
Insight: Cincinnati was shutout in Indianapolis, so no one on offense did well. The Bengals were obviously effected by the absence of A.J. Green, but not being able to establish the running game against the Colts is more concerning. Dalton has proved throughout his career that his success hinges on an effective rushing attack.
Vontaze Burfict, LB10/19/2014 2:20:00 PM
Description: Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict has left the Week 7 game against Indy with a neck injury.
Insight: Burfict has been dealing with concussion and neck issues all season, though this looked like a stinger on a hit of Andrew Luck.
A.J. Green, WR10/19/2014 11:02:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Colts according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Insight: This was expected. Green has been pretty much insinuating all week that he would not play this Sunday.
A.J. Green, WR10/17/2014 11:35:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green did not practice again on Friday and fantasy owners must plan on being without him on Sunday.
Insight: Green and coach Marvin Lewis have contradicted each other with the player saying he is week-to-week and the coach trying to hide the fact that his star isn't an option for Week 7. Obviously the player knows his own health better than the coach.
A.J. Green, WR10/16/2014 1:45:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green did not practice again on Thursday and it seems it will take a miracle for him to be available this Sunday.
Insight: Green and coach Marvin Lewis continue to contradict each other as the receiver called himself week-to-week while Lewis said he was day-to-day. Don't count on Green playing in Week 7.
A.J. Green, WR10/15/2014 2:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green did not practice on Wednesday according to Bengals.com
Insight: Green and coach Marvin Lewis continue to contradict each other as the receiver called himself week-to-week while Lewis said he was day-to-day. Don't count on Green playing in Week 7.
Brandon Tate, WR10/15/2014 8:22:00 AM
Description: Bengals wideout Brandon Tate was an active receiving target in Week 6 with star wideout A.J. Green sidelined by injury.
Insight: Green is likely out again in Week 7 making Tate a viable low-end option. He caught four balls for 38 yards and a touchdown against Carolina in Week 6.
Marvin Jones, WR10/14/2014 11:52:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones was thought to be close to returning a few weeks ago, but hasn't gotten better and will see a specialist this week.
Insight: Jones suffered a setback to his ankle a week and a half ago. He has not played yet this season. The receiver who caught 10 touchdowns last season may end up not playing at all this season if surgery is required.
Jeremy Hill, RB10/13/2014 5:36:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill was pretty disappointing in Week 6 against the Panthers.
Insight: Hill rushed eight times for 22 yards. He averaged just 2.8 yards per attempt while fellow running back Giovani Bernard gained 7.6 yards per carry. Hill did score a touchdown to make his day somewhat respectable.
Jermaine Gresham, TE10/13/2014 5:34:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham was second on the team in targets and catches in Week 6 against the Panthers.
Insight: Without A.J. Green, Gresham finally took advantage the absence of fellow tight end Tyler Eifert. Gresham caught six passes for 68 yards and received seven targets. If Green does not suit up again, and he is already doubtful, then Gresham is another solid TE start against the Colts next week.
A.J. Green, WR10/13/2014 4:30:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green is doubtful for Week 7 as we hear conflicting views from player and coach.
Insight: Green said he expected to miss Week 7, but coach Marvin Lewis said he "has a shot" to suit up. Sounds like coach-speak to try and confuse the opponents. His absence l,ast Sunday turned Mohamed Sanu into a fantasy stud.
Mohamed Sanu, WR10/12/2014 5:51:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu was fantastic with A.J. Green unable to play.
Insight: He had 11 catches for 120 yards and one score, on 15 targets. Even when Green returns, Sanu will be a borderline WR2.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/12/2014 5:50:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard had a monster game Sunday against the Panthers.
Insight: He had 137 yards on 18 carries, including an 89-yard touchdown run. Bernard left the game with a shoulder injury, but did return. However, while he was out, Jeremy Hill was able to manage a touchdown. Assuming he is healthy, Bernard will be a RB1.
Andy Dalton, QB10/12/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 323 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions Sunday against Carolina.
Insight: It was a solid outing for Dalton, as he navigated the Bengals into field goal range at the end of overtime, only to see Mike Nugent miss the attempt. Dalton will be a borderline QB1 moving forward.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/12/2014 3:40:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard has left the game with a shoulder injury after being slammed into the ground by Luke Kuechly in the fourth-quarter.
Insight: Bernard has 115 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, though he gained almost all of it on an 89-yard touchdown gallop. His return is questionable
Vontaze Burfict, LB10/12/2014 2:09:00 PM
Description: Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict has suffered a blow to the head and had left the game against Carolina.
Insight: Burfict had a concussion earlier this season, so this isn't good news for the Bengals. He could be gone for a while. Vincent Rey will have to take over his role.
Mohamed Sanu, WRHot10/12/2014 12:21:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu should be the Bengals No. 1 receiver in Week 6 with A.J. green sidelined.
Insight: Sanu has been involed this season even with Green around. He's caught 17 balls for 234 yards and a pair of scores. he's also 2-for-2 as a passer for 68 yards and a touchdown (158.3 passer rating).
A.J. Green, WR10/12/2014 12:05:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green who was carted off the practice field Wednesday, after appearing to aggravate his pre-existing toe injury is not ready to go and is inactive for Sunday's game.
Insight: His absence will boost Mohamed Sanu and Brandon Tate's fantasy value . Marvin Jones is also inactive.
Marvin Jones, WR10/11/2014 10:23:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Panthers.
Insight: Jones suffered a setback to his ankle a week and a half ago. He has not played yet this season.
A.J. Green, WR10/9/2014 12:02:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green was was carted off the practice field Wednesday, after appearing to aggravate his pre-existing toe injury and according to Ian Rapoport is not expected to play Sunday.
Insight: He is now doubtful for Week 6 and fantasy owners should make alternate plans. His absence would boost Mohamed Sanu's fantasy value and Marvin Jones if he makes it onto the field.
A.J. Green, WR10/8/2014 2:22:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green was was carted off the practice field Wednesday, after appearing to aggravate his preexisting toe injury.
Insight: It seems he did it while stretching, and according to Coley Harvey, Green threw off his shoe in disgust, and hopped onto the cart. He is now extremely questionable for Week 6. We will update Green's status once we know more.
A.J. Green, WR10/6/2014 10:33:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green was held in check by Darrelle Revis and didn't produce any fantasy numbers until Revis left with an injury.
Insight: The play after Revis was injured, Green caught a 17-yard touchdown strike. He ended the night with double-digit fantasy points, but his fantasy owners should consider that a gift from Revis.
Andy Dalton, QB10/6/2014 10:32:00 AM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was just 15-of-24 for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
Insight: Respectable numbers considering the Bengals only had the ball for 21 minutes, but most of the yards and the touchdowns came after the game was decided - a.k.a. garbage time.
Giovani Bernard, RB10/6/2014 10:29:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard was held in check for most of the night by a tough New England defense.
Insight: It didn't help that the Bengals fell behind by two touchdowns at halftime, but in truth, they got nothing going for most of the night and the Patriots offense held the ball for 38:56 minutes to 21:04 for the Bengals.
Marvin Jones, WR10/5/2014 7:16:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones is inactive for Sunday night's game against the Patriots.
Insight: Jones was hoping to play, but he suffered a setback to his ankle on Wednesday. Mohamed Sanu will play opposite A.J. Green against New England.
Marvin Jones, WR10/3/2014 4:00:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones was hoping to be activated for Sunday night's game against New England, but after missing a third straight practice its getting unlikely.
Insight: Jones took part in two practices last week and but missed them all this week. He posted 712 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns last season. Mohamed Sanu should get anolther game as the No. 2 guy across from A.J. Green.
Marvin Jones, WR9/30/2014 1:58:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones could be activated for Sunday night's game against New England.
Insight: Jones took part in two practices last week and should be in every practice this week. In fact, the Cincinnati Enquirer says he's expected to return, so get ready. He posted 712 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns last season.
Mohamed Sanu, WR9/21/2014 6:28:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu passes for touchdown.
Insight: On a trick play Sanu received the ball from Andy Dalton, who then returned the ball on a forward pass, resulting in an 18-yard touchdown reception. He also wound up with five catches for 44 yards, on eight targets. Sanu is worthy of a look in 12-to-14 team leagues.
A.J. Green, WR9/21/2014 6:26:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green battles toe injury and produces 100-yard game.
Insight: He had six catches for 102 yards to be exact, and seemed to be moving just fine. The Bengals have their bye during Week 4, which should help Green get completely healthy. He is in line for a monster year.
Giovani Bernard, RB9/21/2014 6:24:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard scores twice in Bengals victory.
Insight: He did not total huge yardage, with 47 yards on 14 carries and seven yards on one reception, however, he made fantasy owners happy with his two scores. Jeremy Hill continues to see snaps (7 rushes for 39 yards and 1 TD), which may be the only roadblock for Bernard moving forward. He still remains a borderline RB1.
Andy Dalton, QB9/21/2014 6:21:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton makes impact in receiving game.
Insight: While he was 15-of-23 for only 169 yards and one interception, Dalton's big highlight came on a trick play, when he caught a pass from Mohamed Sanu, and ran the ball 18 yards into the end zone, for his first career TD reception. With Cincinnati leading big early, Dalton was able to just manage the game. He should bounce back next time out.
Vontaze Burfict, LB9/21/2014 12:13:00 PM
Description: Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict (concussion) is officially out Sunday versus the Titans.
Insight: Burfict has been forced out of both games thus far, and now durability is becoming an issue. Cincinnati will hope to get their star linebacker back for Week 5, as the bengals have their bye during Week 4. Vincent Rey will start in Burfict's OLB spot.
A.J. Green, WR9/21/2014 11:55:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green (toe) ready to go versus Tennessee.
Insight: His status continued to improve throughout the week, and is now officially active. Green always brings WR1 upside, but expectations should be hampered as he is dealiing with this toe injury. Mohamed Sanu's impact takes a bit of a hit, with Green playing.
A.J. Green, WR9/19/2014 2:43:00 PM
Description: Good news for fantasy owners as Bengals receiver A.J. Green (toe) has been upgraded to probable.
Insight: Green was a full participant Friday and is on track to play in Sunday's game against the Titans. He's a must start whenever he takes the field.
A.J. Green, WR9/18/2014 4:12:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green (toe) returned to practice in limited fashion on Thursday.
Insight: Despite being "limited", this puts Green on track to play in Sunday's game against the Titans. Even if he plays, however, he will likely not be himself and could possibly be used as a decoy.
Dane Sanzenbacher, WR9/16/2014 4:36:00 PM
Description: Bengals wideout Dane Sanzenbacher could see his targets take a jump in Week 3 if A.J. Green's toe keeps him out of the lineup.
Insight: Sanzenbacher would only be a one-game option as the Bengals have a bye in Week 4 and by Week 5 Green is likely to be fully ready to play again. Sanzenbacher caught two balls for 42 yards in a substitute role last Sunday.
Mohamed Sanu, WR9/16/2014 4:33:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu will likely play a major role in Week 3 with A.J. Green likely joining Marvin Jones on the sidelines.
Insight: Sanu produced a 76-yard touchdown catch against the Falcons to produce double-digits fantasy points, a big jump from Week 1. He's a solid fantasy option if A.J. Green is not ready to play in Week 3.
Andy Dalton, QB9/16/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has played mistake-free football over the first two games this season, but hasn't posted great fantasy numbers.
Insight: He's thrown for just one touchdown in each game while averaging 276.5 ypg. He could be without A.J. Green (toe) in Week 3 in addition to already sidelined Marvin Jones (foot) which may force the Bengals to feature the ground game.
A.J. Green, WR9/15/2014 2:16:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green left Sunday's game against the Falcons with a strained toe ligament and is doubtful for Week 3.
Insight: Green could sit Week 3 and then with a Week 4 bye get three weeks until he has to test the toe. Dane Sanzenbacher and Brandon Tate would play opposite Mohamed Sanu if Green sits. It's a huge blow to fantasy owners and the Bengals.
Jeremy Hill, RB9/14/2014 5:39:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill gained 94 yards from scrimmage on 17 touches in Week 2 against the Falcons.
Insight: Hill did not get much playing time in Week 1, so it was great to see him get on the field. With a huge lead, the Bengals featured both Bernard, who had 32 touches, and Hill. The rookie will likely continue to improve as the season goes and clearly has more value than just a handcuff back.
Giovani Bernard, RB9/14/2014 5:35:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard gained 169 yards from scrimmage and scored a rushing touchdown on 32 touches.
Insight: Bernard had an incredible 19 touchdowns in the first half with 16 carries for 52 yards. The running back was not exactly efficient as that averages out to 3.25 yards per carry, but fantasy owners love the fact Bernard has turned into a work horse. He mostly maintained that pace in the second half. Bernard is a top fantasy running back in any format. When Tucker asked Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis about how touches would be split, Lewis said, "A smart guy would say Gio gets a little bit more." Good news for both Bernard and Hill fans, who are curious as to how the workload will be shared. We expect Bernard to get about 16-18 touches a game, which puts him close to 300 on the season, and Hill will get between 10 and 14 carries. Bernard will be featured much more in the passing game.
Vontaze Burfict, LB9/14/2014 3:55:00 PM
Description: Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict left Week 2 game with Atlanta due to a neck stinger.
Insight: Burfict was forced out of the season opener after a blow to the head. He will not return and this is quickly becoming a recurring theme. Can he stay healthy and on the field?
A.J. Green, WR9/14/2014 1:52:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green left Sunday's game against the Falcons with a toe injury and is questionable to return. UPDATE: Green will not return on Sunday.
Insight: Green headed to the locker room about halfway though the first quarter. It now appears that this was the injury that put Green on the injury report this week even though he was officially listed with a foot injury. Dane Sanzenbacher will play opposite Mohamed Sanu until Green returns if he does. Early week missing of practice is never that important as we see here. He's a fantasy stud who has improved each season and off his 131-yard, one-touchdown season opener appears to be continuing the trend.
A.J. Green, WRHot9/12/2014 2:04:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green will play Week 2 according to coach Marvin Lewis.
Insight: Early week missing of practice is never that important as we see here. He's a fantasy stud who has improved each season and off his 131-yard, one-touchdown season opener appears to be continuing the trend.
A.J. Green, WRHot9/11/2014 2:12:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver A.J. Green did not practice on Thursday due to a foot injury.
Insight: It's somewhat of a concern as Green was listed as limited in practice on Wednesday. Cincinnati is probably just taking it easy on their star wide out, but we will check back on his status Friday afternoon.
Tyler Eifert, TE9/10/2014 2:26:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert has been placed on injured reserve/designated to return.
Insight: Eifert dislocated his right elbow after making a catch in the first quarter against the Ravens on Sunday. His absence could allow Jermaine Gresham to be a low-end fantasy option.
Jeremy Hill, RB9/8/2014 12:57:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill played just 10-of-67 offensive snaps in the Bengals' Week 1 victory to the Ravens.
Insight: The widely heralded rookie running back from LSU was not as involved with the offense as anticipated. Cincinnati played a pass-first approach on Sunday, which was surprising and led to fewer opportunities for Hill. Meanwhile, Gio Bernard owners are extremely pleased as he played on the other 57 snaps. Hill should see more time as the season progresses, but owners will have to take the wait-and-see approach.
Tyler Eifert, TE9/8/2014 12:42:00 PM
Description: The Bengals are hopeful tight end Tyler Eifert will only miss a few weeks according to FOX's Jay Glazer.
Insight: Eifert dislocated his right elbow after making a catch in the first quarter against the Ravens on Sunday. Reportedly, the elbow "popped right back in" but the ligaments have to heal before he can return. Jermaine Gersham will play tight end on every down until Eifert gets back, but Gresham will not produce the same kind of receiving numbers as Eifert could.
A.J. Green, WRHot9/7/2014 6:47:00 PM
Description: Just another big day for Cincinnati receiver A.J. Green as he caught six balls for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: Actually, it was a difficult day for Green until a 77-yard score in the fourth quarter turned it into a fantasy bonanza.
Keith Rivers, LB9/7/2014 3:48:00 PM
Description: Bills linebacker Keith Rivers left Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Bears due to a groin injury.
Insight: The Bills have ruled him out the rest of the game.
Vontaze Burfict, LB9/7/2014 2:59:00 PM
Description: Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict suffered a possible head injury in the second quarter against the Ravens on Sunday.
Insight: The injury seemed to come when Burfict laid a lick on Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. It is a high possibility that Burfict suffered a concussion.
Tyler Eifert, TE9/7/2014 1:42:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert appeared to suffer a serious right elbow injury after making a catch in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Insight: Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports speculated on Twitter that it was a dislocated elbow. That is anyone's best guess right now. Eifert looked like he was in a lot of pain.
Marvin Jones, WR9/7/2014 12:20:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Insight: According to Albert Breer of NFL.com, the Bengals hope to have receiver Marvin Jones (foot) back for Week 5. A.J. Green and Mohamed Sanu will get most of targets at receiver, but the Bengals will likely deploy a heavy running attack with Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill.
Giovani Bernard, RB9/4/2014 11:48:00 AM
Description: Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is still expected to get more touches than rookie running back Jeremy Hill according to Ross Tucker of NBC Sports.
Insight: When Tucker asked Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis about how touches would be split, Lewis said, "A smart guy would say Gio gets a little bit more." Good news for both Bernard and Hill fans, who are curious as to how the workload will be shared. We expect Bernard to get about 16-18 touches a game, which puts him close to 300 on the season, and Hill will get between 10 and 14 carries. Bernard will be featured much more in the passing game.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, RB8/29/2014 2:56:00 PM
Description: Fantasy owners don't have to worry about BenJarvus Green-Ellis taking carries from Giovani Bernard or Jeremy Hill as he was cut Friday from the 53-man roster.
Insight: Giovani Bernard and rookie Jeremy Hill have shown in preseason they can get the job done and both have solid fantasy value. Bernard is the starter and is even more valuable in PPR leagues, but Hill is going to get plenty of work.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/28/2014 10:15:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill rushed 20 times for 90 yards and caught all six of his targets for 70 yards in Cincinnati's preseason finale Thursday.
Insight: Hill was impressive as the every-down back with Gio Bernard resting. He did leave the game with an elbow injury but returned to action. We are still unsure how Hill will be used, so he is not worth starting Week 1, but he looks to be at least a very capable handcuff.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/28/2014 8:40:00 PM
Description: Bengals running back Jeremy Hill left Thursday's preseason finale with an elbow injury.
Insight: Hill saw a somewhat surprising 20 touches in two quarters of action Thursday. Hill generated 123 all-purpose yards, while catching all five of his targets. His one bad play was a blown blocking assignment that resulted in a quarterback sack. The elbow injury is believed to be minor, and it continues to look like Hill will see more touches than originally forecast.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/27/2014 12:28:00 PM
Description: Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson wrote "it looks like (Giovani) Bernard and (Jeremy) Hill could both get about 200 attempts" on the ground this season.
Insight: Hill ran very well in the Bengals' third preseason game. Hobson speculated that BenJarvus Green-Ellis would not make the roster and thus leave Hill with the change-of-pace back role this year. The rookie is certainly the best between-the-tackles runner Cincinnati has and he could steal a few touchdowns from Bernard. Hill is a great pick at his current ADP of the 10th round and Bernard's value takes a bit of a hit as many thought he would reach 300 touches. That will be tough if Hill really gets 200 carries.
Geno Atkins, DT8/21/2014 3:48:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati DT Geno Atkins (torn ACL) has been cleared to practice.
Insight: Atkins should be ready for Week 1. He is a premier defensive tackle and his return automatically makes the Bengals a better defense.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/19/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Bengals rookie running back Jeremy Hill (shoulder) returned to practice Tuesday.
Insight: He left Saturday's preseason game with a shoulder injury. Hill is expected to fill the BenJarvus Green-Ellis role this season, but Giovani Bernard is going to see a bump in touches and could also get goal-line carries so Hill's value will be limited to the flex spot.
Andy Dalton, QB8/17/2014 1:28:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton looked extremely sharp in Cincinnati's second preseason game.
Insight: He was 8-for-8 for 144 yards and a score. He can't justify his $115 million contract in preseason, but if he plays like this when they start playing for real he'll be worth every penny.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/17/2014 11:51:00 AM
Description: Bengals rookie running back Jeremy Hill left Saturday's preseason game with a right shoulder injury, but tweeted "I'm fine" late Saturday night.
Insight: Hill is expected to fill the BenJarvus Green-Ellis role this season, but Giovani Bernard is going to see a bump in touches and could also get goal-line carries so Hill's value will be limited to the flex spot.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/16/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: Bengals rookie running back Jeremy Hill left Saturday's preseason game with a right shoulder injury, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.com.
Insight: BenJarvus Green-Ellis saw 220 carries and rushed for seven touchdowns as the Bengals' power back last year, but he gained just 3.4 ypc. Hill is expected to fill that role this season, but Giovani Bernard is going to see a bump in touches and could also get goal-line carries so Hill's value will be limited to the flex spot.
Giovani Bernard, RB8/13/2014 3:58:00 PM
Description: According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bengals running back Giovani Bernard could get a "good share" of the goal-line carries as well as 300 total touches.
Insight: Even if he doesn't get all of the goal-line carries, Bernard still has RB1 upside this season due to his expected workload spike and explosiveness in the receiving game. The team drafted bruising back Jeremy Hill to replace ineffective BenJarvus Green-Ellis, but it sounds like Bernard could get a crack at some short TDs too.
Marvin Jones, WR8/11/2014 8:41:00 PM
Description: According to Albert Breer of NFL.com, the Bengals hope to have receiver Marvin Jones (foot) back for Week 5.
Insight: Jones, who had 712 yards and 10 touchdowns on 80 targets last season, had to get a pin inserted into his fifth metatarsal for a broken foot. Coach Marvin Lewis' assertion that Jones would be out "a couple of weeks" was wildly unrealistic. Mohamed Sanu will take over as the team's No. 2 receiver.
Marvin Jones, WR8/11/2014 5:57:00 PM
Description: While Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said receiver Marvin Jones (foot) will miss "a couple of weeks" with a broken foot, Geoff Hobson of bengals.com says the receiver will likely be out 5-6 weeks.
Insight: Jones, who had 712 yards and 10 touchdowns on 80 targets last season, had to get a pin inserted into his fifth metatarsal. A similar injury kept Mohamed Sanu out for the last five weeks of the 2012 regular season as well as the playoffs. Sanu will take Jones' place as the No. 2 receiver.
Jeremy Hill, RB8/8/2014 10:18:00 AM
Description: Rookie running back Jeremy Hill came off the bench before BenJarvus Green-Ellis in the preseason opener, indicating that the rookie ahead of the veteran on the depth chart.
Insight: Starter Giovani Bernard is going to get more than 170 carries in 2014, but Cincinnati is also going to run the ball more often under new OC Hue Jackson so Hill could see close to 200 carries.
Marvin Jones, WR8/4/2014 7:58:00 PM
Description: Bengals receiver Marvin Jones has been activated from the NFI list.
Insight: He rolled his ankle at a passing camp organized by Andy Dalton after OTAs. Mohamed Sanu has reportedly looked good in training camp, but Jones was listed as the No. 2 wideout on the first depth chart. The 24-year-old played limited snaps last season but was a red-zone monster who caught 10 touchdowns. He's expected to get more playing time this year, but the Bengals are also expected to cut down on their passing attempts under new OC Hue Jackson. Consider him a WR4.
Andy Dalton, QB8/4/2014 11:08:00 AM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has agreed to a deal to keep him in Cincinnati through 2020.
Insight: While other quarterbacks garnered lots of attention, Dalton put up sneaky good numbers last season - 4,296 yards, 33 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs. He's still yet to win an NFL playoff game, but he was very good to fantasy owners, particularly his Week 16 effort (27-for-38, 366 yards, 4 TDs) in what for many was the fantasy championship round.
Mohamed Sanu, WR7/29/2014 11:48:00 AM
Description: Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu will likely play multi positions this season, according to a bengals.com report.
Insight: Sanu will mostly play at wide receiver, but will get some work out of the backfield and possible throw a pass or two this season. He's still not likely to be fantasy worthy.
Jeremy Hill, RB7/28/2014 7:15:00 PM
Description: Rookie running back Jeremy Hill has been playing ahead of BenJarvus Green-Ellis in training camp, according to ESPN.com.
Insight: Green-Ellis seemingly is closer to losing his third-string job to Cedric Peerman or Rex Burkhead than he is to catching Hill. The Bengals drafted Hill (6-1, 238 lbs) out of LSU in the second round to serve as the team's between-the-tackles rusher. Green-Ellis carried the ball 220 times and scored seven touchdowns last season but ran for 3.4 yards per carry. Giovani Bernard is going to get more than 170 carries in 2014, but Cincinnati is also going to run the ball more often under new OC Hue Jackson so Hill could see 200 carries.
Giovani Bernard, RB7/28/2014 1:55:00 PM
Description: Bengals RBs coach Kyle Caskey is thinking 260-300 touches for new starter RB Giovani Bernard in 2014.
Insight: Bernard had 695 rushing yards on 170 carries, 514 receiving yards on 56 catches and eight total touchdowns as a rookie while splitting time with BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Now a starter with a more run-heavy gameplan expected, it's certainly not unreasonable. In our projections we are expecting 264 touches, 1,437 total yards and 10 touchdowns.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, RB7/16/2014 4:34:00 PM
Description: The Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner Jr. expects BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Rex Burkhead to battle for one roster spot in camp.
Insight: Giovani Bernard and rookie Jeremy Hill are guaranteed spots and Dehner thinks Cedric Peerman is as well because he plays on special teams. Even if Green-Ellis makes the team, he won't see the field much and shouldn't be drafted in any leagues.
Jermaine Gresham, TE6/10/2014 8:06:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham is not participating in OTAs because he underwent hernia surgery, according to Field Yates of ESPN.
Insight: Gresham and Tyler Eifert combined for 86 catches, 903 yards and six touchdowns last season but canceled each other out for fantasy purposes. The same thing will probably happen this year.
Tyler Eifert, TE6/3/2014 8:03:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati tight end Tyler Eifert won't participate in OTAs. SOURCE: Bengals.com
Insight: He's dealing with a shoulder injury though the severity is unknown. Eifert (39 catches, 445 yards, 2 TD in 2013) was unable to distance himself from Jermaine Gresham last season and the two figure to split playing time again in 2014.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, RB5/21/2014 10:19:00 AM
Description: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bengals are leaning toward keeping veteran running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis despite drafting Jeremy Hill in the second round.
Insight: Green-Ellis will be third on Cincinnati's halfback depth chart behind Hill and last year's second round pick Giovani Bernard. Green-Ellis could still vulture a handful of touchdowns for the Bengals but we're not counting on a breakout year for the 28-year-old.
Jeremy Hill, RB5/9/2014 8:55:00 PM
Description: The Cincinnati Bengals took RB Jeremy Hill 55th overall in the 2014 draft.
Insight: Cincinnati also took a running back in the second round last year (Giovani Bernard). At 6-foot-1, 233 pounds, Hill will provide a big-bodied complement to Bernard and may take away fantasy value from Bernard if he gets goal-line carries. BenJarvus Green-Ellis' days in Cincinnati are probably numbered.
Danieal Manning, SS4/3/2014 9:32:00 PM
Description: Former Texans safety Danieal Manning has agreed to a one-year deal with Cincinnati. SOURCE: Ian Rapoport, NFL.com
Insight: Houston cut him earlier this week when he refused to take a pay cut. Manning was an All-Pro selection for the Bears back in 2008. He turns 32 in August.
Jason Campbell, QB3/19/2014 9:54:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati signed quarterback Jason Campbell to a one-year deal on Wednesday. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: Campbell was cut by the Browns last week. He'll only be worth owning in fantasy if Andy Dalton gets injured. So far Dalton hasn't missed a game in his career, so that's highly unlikely.
Andrew Hawkins, WR3/11/2014 8:28:00 PM
Description: Bengals wideout Andrew Hawkins has agreed to a four-year offer sheet with the Browns. SOURCE: Nate Ulrich, Akron Beacon Journal
Insight: Now Cincinnati has ten days to match Cleveland's offer. Hawkins is likely to be dealing with a rookie quarterback in Cleveland, which is always a risk. He'll probably go undrafted in most fantasy leagues.
Giovani Bernard, RB3/4/2014 10:27:00 AM
Description: Geoff Hobson of bengals.com writes that RB Giovani Bernard "no doubt" will near 300 touches in 2014.
Insight: Former Cincinnati offensive coordinator and committee proponent Jay Gruden is now the head coach in Washington, so Bernard should have a chance to control the backfield in his second season. He had 695 rushing yards on 170 carries, 514 receiving yards on 56 catches and eight total touchdowns as a rookie while splitting time with BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Gruden stubbornly stuck with the "Law Firm" even though he rushed for just 3.4 ypc.
Marvin Jones, WR1/5/2014 8:27:00 PM
Description: Marvin Jones led all receivers with 130 yards on eight catches Sunday in a loss to San Diego.
Insight: The 130 yards represents a new career-high for the 23-year-old out of Cal-Berkeley. Jones was targeted 12 times on the afternoon. He could be a threat for 1,000 yards in 2014.
Andy Dalton, QBCold1/5/2014 7:29:00 PM
Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton wasn't able to exorcise his playoff demons Sunday in an embarrassing loss to the Chargers.
Insight: Dalton was picked off twice and lost a fumble. He was also sacked three times and finished with a 67.0 QB rating. Dalton (29-for-51, 334 yards) is 0-3 in his career in the postseason. Cincinnati hasn't won a playoff game since 1991.
Rey Maualuga, LB1/5/2014 3:00:00 PM
Description: Bengals MLB Rey Maualuga left the game against San Diego briefly, but returned to the game.
Insight: Maualuga is a solid linebacker with 75 tackles, one sack and one interception this season.
Tyler Eifert, TE1/5/2014 12:16:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert returned to practice Thursday and is active for Sunday's game against San Diego after dealing with a shoulder stinger.
Insight: Jermaine Gresham (46-461-4) and Eifert (39-445-2) both missed the Week 17 matchup. Both are healthy enough to be active and they cancel each other out and make it difficult to start either one.
Tyler Eifert, TE1/2/2014 2:16:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert returned to practice Thursday and is probable for Sunday's game against San Diego after dealing with a shoulder stinger.
Insight: Jermaine Gresham (46-461-4) and Eifert (39-445-2) both missed the Week 17 matchup. If one of them can make it back they will have solid fantasy value. If both are healthy they cancel each other out and make it difficult to start either one.
Zoltan Mesko, P12/31/2013 5:22:00 PM
Description: The Bengals will go with Zoltan Mesko at punter this week against San Diego. Mesko signed with the Bengals on Tuesday.
Insight: It's a roll of the dice but Cincinnati doesn't have many other options now that Kevin Huber is out with a broken jaw. Mesko was cut by Pittsburgh earlier this season. In his seven games for the black and gold, Mesko averaged 42.5 yards per punt with a long of 65 yards.
Devon Still, DT12/30/2013 12:13:00 PM
Description: Bengals DT Devon Still is questionable for Sunday's game against San Diego with a back injury.
Insight: Still has played sparingly all season and his absence or return won't effect the Bengals defensive game plan.
Tyler Eifert, TE12/30/2013 12:10:00 PM
Description: Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert is questionable for Sunday's game against San Diego with a shoulder injury, though early expectations are that he will return.
Insight: Jermaine Gresham (46-461-4) and Eifert (39-445-2) both missed the Week 17 matchup. If one of them can make it back they will have solid fantasy value. If both are healthy they cancel each other out and make it difficult to start either one.
Jermaine Gresham, TE12/30/2013 12:08:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham was inactive for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh and is questionable for the first round of the playoffs due to a hamstring injury.
Insight: Gresham (46-461-4) and Tyler Eifert (39-445-2) both missed the Week 17 matchup. If one of them can make it back they will have solid fantasy value. If both are healthy they cancel each other out and make it difficult to start either one.
A.J. Green, WR12/29/2013 7:21:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati receiver A.J. Green has collected 260 catches in his first three seasons. That's a new NFL record.
Insight: The old record belonged to Anquan Boldin who Green passed earlier today. Green's 1,426 receiving yards this season were the most by a Bengal since 2007 when Chad Johnson had 1,440 on 93 catches.
Vontaze Burfict, LB12/29/2013 6:16:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict finished with 14 tackles on Sunday.

Andy Dalton, QB12/29/2013 6:09:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton set two team records Sunday in a win over Baltimore.
Insight: Dalton now holds the Bengals' records for touchdowns (33) and yards (4,296) in a season. Unfortunately, he also threw four interceptions on Sunday, a new career-high. Dalton will finish the year with an 88.8 rating on 586 passing attempts.
Jermaine Gresham, TE12/29/2013 11:59:00 AM
Description: Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham is inactive for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Gresham and Tyler Eifert are both out, leaving the tight end duties to Alex Smith and Orson Charles. That should mean more targets for the wideouts.

Insight: Eifert is out with a shoulder issue while Gresham is battling a hamstring injury. Alex Smith will get the start at tight end. With just two catches this season, it's hard to envision Smith having a big game this week against a highly motivated Ravens secondary.

Description: Bengals WR A.J. Green had 97 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches Sunday against the Vikings.

Description: Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a field day against the Vikings in Week 16, throwing for 366 yards and four touchdowns with zero turnovers.

Jermaine Gresham, TE12/22/2013 12:03:00 PM
Description: Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham is active in Week 16 against Minnesota.
Insight: Gresham and Tyler Eifert hurt each other's value and both are low-end fantasy options ... at best.
Kevin Huber, P12/16/2013 10:53:00 AM
Description: The Bengals will have to find a punter this week after Kevin Huber suffered a broken jaw against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Cincinnati will face Marcus Sherels (13.1 ypr) and Jacoby Jones (13.4) over the next two games, so they need to find a kicker that can get some serious hang time or kick it out of bounds.
James Harrison, LB12/16/2013 10:46:00 AM
Description: Cincinnati Bengals linebacker James Harrison left Sunday's game against Pittsburgh due to a concussion.
Insight: Harrison will go the the league-mandated concussion protocol before he can face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

Description: Bengals starting guard Clint Boling believe he suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's game and is done for the season, according to Cincinnati beat writer Joe Reedy.
Insight: Boling was playing very well and this injury will hurt. Mike Pollak should move into the spot with Kevin Zeitler returning from injury to hold down the other guard spot.
