Shane Greene, RP, DET4/29/2015 3:24:00 PM
Description: Tigers starter Shane Greene had his worst start of the season Wednesday versus Minnesota.
Insight: He allowed seven runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings. Greene did strike out eight but now has a 4.60 ERA.
Fernando Rodney, RP, SEA4/28/2015 10:55:00 PM
Description: Mariners closer Fernando Rodney picked up his sixth save of the season, shutting the door on the Rangers on Tuesday.
Insight: Seattle won, 2-1. Rodney only faced three batters and struck out two of them. His overall numbers aren't good, 5.79 ERA and 1.82 WHIP, but they should come down shortly. It's only April.
Adam Warren, RP, NYY4/27/2015 9:19:00 PM
Description: Yankees pitcher Adam Warren allowed one run Monday against the Rays.
Insight: He went 5 2/3 innings and gave up five hits and struck out six as well. Warrennow has a 4.35 ERA.
Nathan Karns, RP, TAM4/27/2015 8:45:00 PM
Description: Tampa Bay pitcher Nathan Karns allowed one run over 4 2/3 innings of work.
Insight: Karns is clearly on a pitch count, as he was lifted after throwing 87 pitches. He gave up three hits and one walk while striking out five.
Aaron Sanchez, RP, TOR4/27/2015 8:41:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez allowed four runs Monday against Boston.
Insight: Only three of the runs were earned and he also allowed five hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings of work. Sanchez now has a 5.03 ERA this season.
Jonathan Papelbon, RP, PHI4/26/2015 4:29:00 PM
Description: Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon earned a save Sunday versus Atlanta.
Insight: He did allow a homer, but managed to shut the door in the ninth to preserve a 5-4 Phillies win. Papelbon now has four saves a 1.23 ERA this season.
Huston Street, RP, SDP4/26/2015 9:22:00 AM
Description: Angels closer Huston Street picked up his league-leading seventh save of season on Saturday against the Rangers.
Insight: Street allowed a hit, but no other bases runners versus Texas. In seven appearances, Street is 7-for-7 in save chances and hasn't give up a run. He also has a 0.57 WHIP, eight strikeouts and two walks.
Mark Melancon, RP, PIT4/26/2015 9:08:00 AM
Description: Pirates closer Mark Melancon looks a bit more like himself as he picked up his fifth save of the season on Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.
Insight: Melancon's velocity is still down, but he has picked up three straight saves since his blown save on Tuesday. He did allow a hit and a walk in the ninth on Saturday, but a caught stealing help Melancon hold the one-run lead. The numbers still look bad, 5.79 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, but hopefully the worse is behind him.

Bobby Parnell, RP, NYM4/24/2015 4:42:00 PM
Description: New York reliever Bobby Parnell (elbow) will be sut down for the next week.
Insight: He is returning from Tommy John surgery, and is experiencing discomfort. Even when Parnell returns, it is very unlikely he will be closing games for the Mets.
Mark Melancon, RP, PIT4/23/2015 4:17:00 PM
Description: Pirates closer Mark Melancon picked up a much needed save Thursday against the Cubs.
Insight: Melancon blew a save last time out, and still owns an ugly 7.36 ERA, but his 1-2-3 inning on Thursday may be just what he needed to get back on track.
Francisco Rodriguez, RP, MIL4/23/2015 4:12:00 PM
Description: Brewers relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez picked up his second save of the season.
Insight: He shut the door on the Reds, allowing one hit and striking out one. Rodriguez has a 3.00 ERA so far this season.
Joakim Soria, RP, DET4/23/2015 10:57:00 AM
Description: Tigers reliever Joakim Soria should be locked in as the Tigers closer for the remainder of the season after Joe Nathan's diagnosis of a torn UCL.
Insight: Soria has been great, converting 5-out-of-5 save chances since Nathan hit the disabled list with his strained elbow.
Joe Nathan, RP, DET4/23/2015 10:55:00 AM
Description: Tigers closer Joe Nathan left his minor-league rehab appearance at Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday in pain after throwing just 10 pitches and has been diagnosed with a torn UCL and tendon.
Insight: He'll need Tommy John surgery. Joakim Soria's value as the Togers' closer is locked in for the remainder of the season.
Jesse Hahn, RP, OAK4/23/2015 10:06:00 AM
Description: Oakland starter Jesse Hahn will miss his Thursday's scheduled start against the LA Angels due to a blister on the right middle finger.
Insight: Hahn has pitched well through his first three starts with a 1-1 record, 2.12 ERA and 0.941 WHIP, but he's only amassed five strikeouts in 17 innings. Jesse Chavez will get the spot start.
Tony Watson, RP, PIT4/22/2015 10:13:00 PM
Description: Pirates lefty Tony Watson picked up a two-inning save Wednesday against the Cubs.
Insight: With Mark Melancon recovering from blowing the save on Tuesday, Pittsburgh turned to Watson on Wednesday. He allowed one hit and struck out one. Melancon is still the closer for now.
Nathan Karns, RP, TAM4/22/2015 10:12:00 PM
Description: Tampa Bay pitcher Nathan Karnswent six innings Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Insight: Karns is not much of a fantasy option. He allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks, while striking out three. Karns now owns a 5.32 ERA.
Joe Nathan, RP, DET4/22/2015 1:30:00 PM
Description: Tigers closer Joe Nathan left his minor-league rehab appearance at Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday in pain after throwing just 10 pitches according to MLive.com.
Insight: Nathan was seen holding his elbow, which is the same elbow he injured on Opening Day. Nathan is recovering from a strained flexor tendon and wasn't able to throw his scheduled 25 pitches. This should keep Joakim Soria fantasy relevant for a bit while longer.
Chase Anderson, RP, ARI4/22/2015 9:39:00 AM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Chase Anderson pitched seven solid innings versus the Rangers on Tuesday, but the Arizona bullpen blew up in the, 7-1, loss.
Insight: Anderson allowed one run on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks. In the final two innings, the Arizona bullpen allowed six runs, five of which were earned. Anderson still doesn't have a decision this season and has posted a 3.00 ERA in three starts.
Mark Melancon, RP, PIT4/21/2015 10:29:00 PM
Description: Pirates closer Mark Melancon is off to a less than desirable start and blew a save on Tuesday versus the Cubs.
Insight: Melancon and Pittsburgh had a three-run lead in the ninth, but he allowed three hits and a walk before recording an out as the lead disappeared. Melancon forced a chopping ground ball twice, but the first time it bounced over third baseman Josh Harrison's head to score two runs and the second one was too slow to turn a double play, which let the game-winning run score. Melancon is 0-1 with a 8.53 ERA in seven appearances this season.
Koji Uehara, RP, BOS4/21/2015 10:13:00 PM
Description: Red Sox closer Koji Uehara allowed one hit but still recorded his second save of the season as Boston beat Tampa Bay, 1-0.
Insight: Uehara quickly retired Evan Longoria on a ground out, which erased the hit as the Red Sox turned a double play. Then Uehara retired Desmond Jennings on a ground out to end the game.
Joakim Soria, RP, DET4/21/2015 5:52:00 PM
Description: Tigers reliever Joakim Soria could move back into his eighth inning role by the weekend as closer Joe Nathan is expected to return to the team after one rehab start on Wednesday according to MLive.com.
Insight: This is not what fantasy owners or even Tigers fans want to hear. Soria has been great, converting 5-out-of-5 save chances since Nathan hit the disabled list with his strained elbow. Owners, however, should not drop Soria right away as even if Nathan returns to the ninth inning role, Nathan is just a couple blown saves away from losing the job to Soria.
Joe Nathan, RP, DET4/21/2015 5:49:00 PM
Description: Tigers closer Joe Nathan is scheduled to make a rehab appearance on Wednesday with Triple-A Toledo according to MLive.com.
Insight: Nathan is expected to rejoin the major league club as long as everything goes well Wednesday. Manager Brad Ausmus insists that Nathan will resume the closers role with the Tigers even though Joakim Soria is 5-for-5 in save opportuntities since Nathan went down with his injury. That is an elbow injury, so cannot be good news. Joakim Soria will likely fill in while Nathan is sidelined.
Kelvin Herrera, RP, KAN4/21/2015 4:52:00 PM
Description: Royals relief pitcher Kelvin Herrera has been suspended for five games after throwing at Brett Lawrie Sunday. Update: Herrera will appeal the suspension and can keep pitching until there is a decision on his appeal.
Insight: Herrera is another of the Royals' hard-throwing bullpen who averages a strikeout-per-inning, but he's only valuable to fantasy owners in leagues that accrue holds.
Kelvin Herrera, RP, KAN4/21/2015 3:45:00 PM
Description: Royals relief pitcher Kelvin Herrera has been suspended for five games after throwing at Brett Lawrie Sunday..
Insight: Herrera is another of the Royals' hard-throwing bullpen who averages a strikeout-per-inning, but he's only valuable to fantasy owners in leagues that accrue holds.
Andrew McKirahan, RP, ATL4/21/2015 9:32:00 AM
Description: Braves reliever Andrew McKirahan has been suspended for 80 days by major league baseball for performance-enhancing drugs.
Insight: As a middle relief guy he didn't hold much fantasy value. He had been in three games with a 4.15 ERA and 0.923 WHIP.
Joakim Soria, RP, DET4/20/2015 9:52:00 PM
Description: Tigers reliever Joakim Soria earned his fifth save of the season, shutting the door on the, 2-1, victory over the Yankees on Monday.
Insight: Soria shut down New York in order retiring Brett Gardner on a ground out and Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira on fly outs. Soria is 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA with five saves this season.
Greg Holland, RP, KAN4/20/2015 5:13:00 PM
Description: Royals closer Greg Holland is dealing with a Grade 1 pectoral strain according to the Kansas City Star.
Insight: That means Holland should be ready to return after his stint on the 15-day DL is over. Wade Davis will be the team's closer for the time being.
Jesse Hahn, RP, OAK4/20/2015 11:25:00 AM
Description: Oakland starter Jesse Hahn is questionable for Thursday's scheduled start against the LA Angels due to a blister on the right middle finger.
Insight: Hahn has pitched well through his first three starts with a 1-1 record, 2.12 ERA and 0.941 WHIP, but he's only amassed five strikeouts in 17 innings and last season he was close to a strikeout-per-inning pitcher. Fantasy owners want that guy back.
Jerry Blevins, RP, NYM4/20/2015 10:42:00 AM
Description: Reliever Jerry Blevins left Sunday's game against Miami and is expected to be placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a fractured left forearm
Insight: Blevins only had fantasy value if your league used a "holds" category. He had five holds in seven appearances with a 0.00 ERA, 0.000 WHIP and four strikeouts.
Drew Storen, RP, WAS4/19/2015 4:26:00 PM
Description: Nationals closer Drew Storen recorded his fourth save of the season.
Insight: He gave up two hits, but did not allow a run. Storen now owns a 1.80 ERA to go along with his four saves.
Mark Melancon, RP, PIT4/19/2015 4:22:00 PM
Description: Pirates closer Mark Melancon picked up his second save of the season on Sunday.
Insight: He allowed on hit in the ninth, but escaped without giving up a run.
