NCAA Game Summary - Georgia State at ULM

(Saturday, October 26)

Final Score: ULM 38, Georgia State 10

Monroe, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kolton Browning threw for 224 yards and four touchdowns on 21-of-30 passing to lead the ULM Warhawks over the Georgia State Panthers, 38-10, in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at Malone Stadium.

Centarius Donald ran for 126 yards and a score on just eight carries for the Warhawks (4-4, 2-1) while Browning chipped in 53 yards on the ground as the team won for the second time in as many outings.

For the Panthers (0-8, 0-3), Ben McLane finished with just 86 yards and an interception on 10-of-21 passing. Ronnie Bell threw for 22 yards and two interceptions on 2-of-9 passing. Jonathan Jean-Bart totaled 60 rushing yards as the Panthers saw their losing streak reach 12 straight dating back to last season.

ULM took the early lead with a Browning touchdown pass to Tony Cook from four yards out. Browning added another scoring toss later in the frame, this time a seven-yard pass to Ajalen Holley with four minutes to play in the opening quarter.

After their offense started the game with three punts and two interceptions on their first five drives, the Panthers defense put the visitors on the board when they sacked Browning and forced a fumble, which Robert Ferguson picked up and returned 87 yards for a touchdown. Georgia State added a 25-yard field goal midway through the second to make the score 14-10.

ULM then scored twice in the final six minutes of the half to take a 28-10 lead at halftime. First, Browning hooked up with JeRon Hamm for a 19-yard touchdown strike, then Donald rammed it in from the one-yard line with a minute left in the half.

After a 36-yard field goal made the score 31-10 early in the third, Browning continued his strong play, finding Harley Scioneaux for 24 yards and the score to put his team up 38-10 with under two minutes to play in the third quarter.

The Warhawks forced four turnovers on the night, and converted 8-of-16 on third down, while holding the Panthers to just 3-of-15 in that department. Hunter Kissinger logged a pair of INTs and forced a fumble for the Warhawks, while Gerrand Johnson made four of his seven tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

ULM finished the night with 533 yards of total offense, more than double the 244 produced by Georgia State.

The Panthers have won just once since the start of last season, a 41-7 decision against Rhode Island on Oct. 13, 2012.
