Kings head to break with OT win over Columbus

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Robyn Regehr scored 2:33 into overtime to lift the Los Angeles Kings over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 2-1, on Thursday.

Jake Muzzin scored early in the third period for the Kings, who snapped a four-game skid heading into the Olympic break. Jonathan Quick stopped 24-of-25 shots.

Jack Johnson scored the lone goal for the Blue Jackets, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 18-of-20 shots.

Johnson scored on the power play at 1:40 of the first period when his shot from the right circle got past Quick.

The Kings outshot the Blue Jackets by an 11-10 margin during a scoreless second stanza.

Muzzin tied the game during 4-on-4 play at the 3:09 mark of the third period. He got behind the defense to put in Anze Kopitar's pass from the right circle.

Regehr scored on a slap shot from the left side 2:33 into overtime to send the Kings to victory. It was Regehr's first career overtime goal.

Game Notes

Columbus plays San Jose on Friday ... The Blue Jackets went 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Kings went 0-for-6 ... The Kings are now 28-4-6 when allowing two or fewer goals ... Columbus has lost four straight at Los Angeles.
