4/17/2013 11:03:00 PM
Description: Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving (24 points, 10 assists) fell just one assist short of his season-high Wednesday against Charlotte.
Insight: That's a nice note to end the season on. He averaged 22.5 ppg on 45.2 percent shooting during the 2012-13 campaign.

Cold4/14/2013 9:55:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving had just four points on 1-of-6 shooting in 19 minutes on play Sunday versus Philadelphia.
Insight: Irving got into foul trouble early in the game. Irving is shooting 37.4 percent from the field in eight games since returning from a shoulder injury. He's not fully recovered from the injury, so that might explain the slump.

4/10/2013 5:17:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) is expected to play Wednesday against the Pistons, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Insight: Irving is playing through a shoulder injury and was expected to sit out the second half of back-to-backs. This could be a sign that his shoulder is feeling good enough for Irving to play the rest of the season.

4/9/2013 6:04:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving could be held out of Wednesday's game against Detroit if he plays Tuesday as expected, according to the News Herald.
Insight: Irving is playing through a shoulder injury. After sitting Wednesday, Irving will likely sit out of one game of a back-to-back on April 14-15.

4/4/2013 11:12:00 AM
Description: Kyrie Irving told the Akron Beacon-Journal that his shoulder sprain hasn't fully healed but he's going to play through the injury anyway.
Insight: That doesn't sound like a smart move for Irving's long-term health but fantasy owners won't complain. The good news is that the Cavs only have eight games left and Irving will have the whole offseason to recover. Irving's talent has never been in question but his vulnerability to injuries, especially this early in his career, is a bit troubling.

4/3/2013 6:56:00 PM
Description: Cavaliers coach Byron Scott told The News Herald's Bob Finnan that point guard Kyrie Irving will see 30 to 32 minutes of action Wednesday against Brooklyn.
Insight: Irving played 29 minutes Sunday so it looks like he's building closer to his season average of 35 mpg. He scored 31 points in his return and should be able to have similar success Wednesday against the injury-depleted Nets (Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson are both out).

4/3/2013 2:08:00 PM
Description: Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) is probable for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: He returned to action Sunday for the first time since March 10, but sat out Monday against Atlanta and will not play in back-to-back games going forward. The plan is subject to change, so there's a chance he gets in for both of those games in the second back-to-back if his recovery from a sprained left shoulder goes well over the next two weeks.

4/2/2013 4:33:00 PM
Description: Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) will not play in back-to-backs for the rest of the season as part of his "recovery plan," according to the Associated Press.
Insight: He returned to action Sunday for the first time since March 10 but sat out Monday against Atlanta. The team has two more back-to-backs this season, on April 9-10 and 14-15. The plan is subject to change, so there's a chance he gets in for both of those games in the second back-to-back if his recovery from a sprained left shoulder goes well over the next two weeks.

Description: Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving didn't play Monday but he is expected to return Wednesday against Brooklyn. SOURCE: Cleveland Plain Dealer
Insight: He's spent the last month on the sidelines because of a sprained shoulder. Shaun Livingston will move back to a reserve role upon Irving's return.

3/31/2013 9:32:00 PM
Description: Cavs guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) played his first game since March 10 on Sunday against the Hornets and had 31 points, six assists and three triples in 29 minutes.
Insight: Irving missed Cleveland's last eight games with a left shoulder AC sprain. The team already has confirmed that he will miss Monday's game against Atlanta as part of his recovery but it's good to have him back.

Description: Cavs guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) will return to action Sunday against the Hornets but he won't play Monday against the Hawks. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: Irving has missed Cleveland's last eight games with a left shoulder AC sprain. After Monday, Cleveland has nine games remaining and two back-to-backs so Irving will likely be eligible to play in seven more games.

Description: Cavs guard Kyrie Irving hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against New Orleans. SOURCE: the News-Herald
Insight: Irving has missed Cleveland's last eight games with a shoulder injury. He's been ramping up his workouts at practice and appears to be close to a return. We wouldn't be surprised to see Uncle Drew back in the lineup within the next couple of days (the Cavaliers also play Monday in Atlanta).

3/21/2013 4:31:00 PM
Description: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving (sprained shoulder) took shots Thursday and reportedly was moving his left arm and shoulder "pretty well."
Insight: Fantasy owners should absolutely hold onto Irving (23 ppg, 5.7 apg, 3.7 rpg) until we officially hear that he is shut down for the season.

3/18/2013 9:21:00 PM
Description: Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio believes there's a 10 percent chance Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will return from his shoulder injury before the end of the season.
Insight: That's about what we figured. The Cavs don't have a shot at the playoffs and it's probably in their best interest to protect their franchise player. Shaun Livingston (13.7 ppg, 5.7 apg in his last three appearances) will fill the void at point guard while Irving is sidelined.

3/11/2013 7:25:00 PM
Description: Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving will be on the shelf for the next 3-to-4 weeks after suffering a sprained left shoulder Sunday against the Raptors.
Insight: The Cavaliers are kicking around the idea of shutting Irving down for the rest of the season, which would really leave fantasy owners out to dry. Shaun Livingston is the only healthy point guard left on Cleveland's roster. He only scored four points in 23 minutes on Sunday and we'd be hesitant to add him even if head coach Byron Scott does choose to make Livingston the starting point guard.

3/11/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving, who injured his left shoulder Sunday against Toronto and did not return, is questionable for Tuesday's game against Washington.
Insight: X-rays came back negative and it looks like Irving just has a bad bruise, but we should not more after the Tuesday morning shootaround. It's been a tough week for Irving who also has a sore knee and dealt with an illness.

3/10/2013 8:47:00 PM
Description: Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving injured his left shoulder Sunday against Toronto and did not return.
Insight: Luckily his X-rays came back negative and it looks like Irving just has a bad bruise. Irving has also been dealing with knee issues and an illness over the past week. For now we're labeling Irving as questionable for Tuesday's tilt against the Wizards.

3/8/2013 6:45:00 PM
Description: Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving will start Friday's game against Memphis despite feeling a little under the weather.
Insight: Maybe the Cavaliers need to start using Purell in the locker room because everyone on the team seems to be sick right now. Irving (23.2 ppg) has been bothered by a right knee injury as well so don't expect him to play with his usual explosiveness.

3/8/2013 11:18:00 AM
Description: Cavaliers star point guard Kyrie Irving can add illness to a sore right knee and has been downgraded to doubtful for Friday's game against Memphis.
Insight: Irving is an elite talent but he has missed significant time with injuries in each of his first two NBA seasons. The team has said it has no plans to shut him down for the knee problem, so this illness may keep him out for a game or two, but nothing long-term.

3/7/2013 4:47:00 PM
Description: The Cavaliers say they won't shut down Kyrie Irving (knee) after he experienced more knee soreness after Wednesday's game, according to Bob Finnan of the News-Herald, but coach Byron Scott says he would consider it if Irving's knee continues to be a bother.
Insight: Irving is an elite talent but he has missed significant time with injuries in each of his first two NBA seasons.
